Graduation Card - GO BEACH!

 

My friend's daughter graduated last night from CSULB (Long Beach!---Go BEACH!) 

She's going to be a teacher...so I created this card using the "retiring" paper and the matching (not retiring) stamp set. I love the rich colors Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Smoky Slate, Pacific Point...to make a bright and cheery graduation card..not your typical graduation card!

Very simple, and layered...

I stamped the shells, and brushed over it with my aqua painter to soften the images....

Undefined - stamp carving!

 

Using the UNDEFINED kit, (19.95) I perused the internet to search for clipart that would "speak" to me and something I would use. 

This symbol is Double Happiness. I think I did ok with the carving.  I sat and watched tv while I did this and later, I decided to remove the outside lines...it fit better on the wood mount.

The image above, on the upper left side is my original that I traced, and the image to the lower left is my stamped image.  I think it came out pretty good!

Interactive Cards - Pop up message!

 So...I get newsletters from all over the place on card crafting and have purchased from other companies that produce books..I love pop ups..so it is just so much fun when you come across cards that are made using Stampin' Up! products!  (and especially when you recognize who the 'designer' is who created a card using Stampin' Up! products!)  I saw this book and recognized Jan Tinklenberg's handiwork!  She had projects in the first Interactive Card book and so I figured she would have projects in the SECOND book!  (and of course, she did!)

 I created this card using Jan's ideas...and using new stamps and new papers (and new colors too!)...

 

Voila!  What do you think?  

Sending this to someone who is a work in progress (aren't we all???)

might just lift their spirits and make their day!

Fresh look!

 

Using Peaceful Petals and the new Blendabilities markers, I colored in this and using Coastal Cabana, Crisp Canteloupe to create the soft simple card!  

Tied with the new twine in the 2013-14 In-Colors (Crisp Cantaloupe).

I am sad that this set is not in the new catalog but love how sweet it looks!

New Markers and New Images!

 Got my order today and got to play with the NEW Alcohol Markers by Stampin' Up!  I love them!  They are very smooth and pretty and easy to play with. They come in a set of 3 with dark, medium and light.  Makes it very easy to blend and shade..I have to work with it a bit more, but I would like to see more colors!...wouldn't you???

 The words were stamped with the NEW alphabet stamp #133769 14.95  You can create ANY word....any phrase....that will fit in the size!  I LOVE IT!
