Stamp a Stack!

I hope you had a great Easter! I went to visit my daughter up in San Luis Obispo! The weather was nice and cool, a little drizzly but overall, very nice to be up there! She showed me some of the new arrivals...(this is a yearling) up in the pastures at school, and we also went up the coast to Cambria and then back to Morro Bay, and then to her school

This weekend is my Sending Springtime Wishes STAMP-A -STACK. It is all contained in a clear bucket that will be decorated with an embossed flower and designer papers!

You will make 12 cards, and includes envelopes...so if you want to give this away as a gift, it can be!
Maybe a MOM'S gift? (someone who is a busy mom or maybe your mom?)

Preview Beauty!

I love this new paper..and you can enjoy the beauty too, on May 1st, you can order this stamp set and flower paper!

I made this card for a special birthday card to send to someone I haven't seen in awhile. I love the bright cheery colors, of Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi. I colored in the flower using prisma pencils because I love the smooth blending ability of the pencils.

Adding a pearl to the center only accents the flower and the 'happy birthday' stamped below...

Knitting Notebook Swap

I am in a Knitting Notebook Swap....it is a notebook swap that we send off (composition) type books along, and we share some of the things that we like. I knitted a small swatch of yarn into a square with a heart pattern. It wasn't a required piece but I had this left over yarn that I wanted to use. (it was from the cowl....see prev post!).. Anyways, I decided to add it to the notebook and also this tag!

I have a recipe and a page that I created using MDS and also this pattern, which I printed smaller (2 on a page) so it would fit on this composition notebook page! I love red, and had this red dotted piece of scrapbook paper. I love how festive it looks....you can see the other page to the left, I used the Tropical papers from last summer....

This is a good way to use up scraps, and also continue to do some creative things that I otherwise wouldn't necessarily do! I am enjoying this swap! The notebooks however are few and far between...I guess the person ahead of me, likes to ponder on them for awhile, so she had this one for almost a month and 1/2 I think....(maybe).

Anyways, it is now ready to send on to the next person!

Grandma's Brag book

Mother's day is fast approaching.. and what more special of a gift is to make a brag book for Grandma. Money is tight here so making a gift that can't be tossed away or given away is more special than just a gift card or sweater for Grandma... My mom is slowly losing some of the memories that she has carried with her...I thought about a few things that I could do, but she doesn't want people to know that she can't remember things as well as she used to. So, putting together this book is my way to have something she can put in her bag that she can show her friends of the things that the grandkids are doing.... My daughter is in college, but all my nephews are all in middle school or elementary school, with 1 still in diapers! She can pull out the tabs and flip the pages to show her friends and not forget their names or their faces! All the pages were created using a plain brown envelope (9x12), Bind It All and Stampin' Up! Papers and cardstocks. The letters were created using the Sizzix and Stampin' Up! dies. HAPPY TAX DAY! Today, I will be watching my copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (7) part 1...... Smiles! TUTORIAL AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE! 3.95

If you would like the envelopes (2) as well, please send me an email and request envelopes. Cost with tutorial: 6.95 includes postage. You may reqest addtional envelopes for .50 each up to 8 more envelopes for the same postage cost. (4.00 more for 8 more envelopes) Tutorial will be emailed to you separately. You may teach the project but please don't reprint the tutorial. You will have limited permission to teach this project. Thank you for your compliance! Pay it Forward

This year on facebook, a friend challenged us to make something for 5 people who posted a comment on our facebook page....as long as they paid it forward..

The rules were very simple...

The would MAKE something HANDMADE for those 5 people. In turn, you had to make something handmade for 5 more people.

I loved the idea, and to create 2 crafts that I love to do....Most of my friends do stamp, but not all of them knit. I have tons of yarn (maybe not tons) but I have a lot of yarns, so to thin out my stash, I decided to knit.

This is a cabled cowl that I knitted. Perfect for the cooler weather, but I knew I had to get this done soon before it gets too warm...well, it is April and yes, we're getting warmer...

so, she wears it next year 8) !!!!

...and of course, I had to make a handstamped tag!

A Journey....

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step......"
It seems that sometimes, you have to take a step back or out, to see the whole picture, and once you look back at your life, you see things differently.....The choices we make are not always the right ones, but if we had made that right choice, would we be different people than we are today???

So much for being philosophical. I was searching through blogs, and reading emails from my stampin' groups, and found some really cool tutorials on making books, and journals! I needed this search, because there are times that you just find that you don't know what to do, and need a fresh start for inspiration!

I am loving this new paper, which is available to buy NOW! It is just beautiful!

I found some cool recycled envelopes in the office supply store, and decided to make a journal album out of the envelopes. One of the blogs that I came across was by Laura Denison. She has a terrific blog using all sorts of things, but usually, it starts with an envelope!

So, seeing these kraft color envelopes (and it was on sale for cheap!) I decided to make some pockets to store some tags and make a cool album. The chipboard covers were from another paper supply store, very thick, and NICE~!

Using my Bind-it-All, I attached all the envelopes together, and all the pages are double pockets. They each have a tag, and I used 3 envelopes to make 12 pockets.

The letters on the cover were cut from comic book board, and then colored using dye based inks (Stampin' Up - Rich Razzleberry and Marine Mist). The flower was made using the Fun Flowers die in Marine Mist, So Saffron and inking up the edges

Spring is Blossoming Trifold Card

Sometimes...these days, it certainly doesn't feel that spring is here. I look outside and see the clouds and the drizzle. In fact, I just heard on the news that we're out of a drought! After something like 8 years of minimal rain, California is finally out of a drought season. There is plenty of snow in the mountains, (the sierras got over 12 feet of snow in the first rains, early in winter...and plenty more with all the other rains...over 25 feet)....
Great news for skiers...and great news for us this summer. At least we can now fill our pools, and water our lawns!

But, I don't know if our water bill will drop..!!! LOL

Today's card is a trifold. I am on a run with the tri-folds. I used the nesties die to cut my circles because I love the scallop lace edge.

Now, when I saw this flower from the Fifth Avenue floral set, I thought wouldn't it look pretty with those teeny pearls from our pearl accessories to accent the center? I mean, those pearls are really tiny! I added a few of the larger ones but mostly the teeny ones. I have almost used all of my 1 package that I bought, and I am determined to use them! I love them! To create the flower, I stamped it in Marina Mist, and then sponged Marina mist to the edges, and then So Saffron in the center. I blended it with the sponge to create the color for the flower.
