Winter CHA 2012

Saturday was the first day of CHA (Craft Hobby Association) and although it was all classes, I HAD FUN!  I took 3 classes Saturday, and 1 class tonight, but today..the floor is OPEN!~  I am looking forward to the hub-bub of CHA!

CHA...craft and hobby

Vanna White and Lion Brand Yarn

I tell my friends that I have a limited area of interests....they laugh. Even though, I am not in the crafting business full time, it fully contains my attention.  I Love all things crafting, and doing things with my hands. I enjoy knitting and stamping, and making fun projects!  So, this weekend starts off with the Craft Hobby Association or CHA as it is known.  There will be 'celebrities', and LOTS of fun new products!   I'm looking forward to seeing designers like Tim Holtz ....some celebrities might not be known to non crafting people, but most of us who are paper crafters, know Tim.....I'm also taking a Sizzix class, so that should be fun!  I'll post some of the projects and other things that I see this weekend, so I hope you'll enjoy the fun!

happy birthday!

I cased this card from the CATALOG!  I didn't want to use the same colors so I changed it up a bit...and this is what I came out with!
Using SO SAFFRON for the card and then Old Olive, and Tangerine Tango cardstock for accents.  Stamped in Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist and Tangerine Tango.

The flower is Tangerine Tango and the mini brad finishes the flower!  Perfect for a gift enclosure!

Mixed Bunch

This came from Patty Bennet's blog. I got the idea from her blog (maybe someone submitted to her)...but I loved the colors!  Pool Party, and Island Indigo!  Very simple card for a Stamp a Stack!

Stamping the flowers in Pool Party and I stamped the flowers onto the cardstock directly, only 1/2 through. Layered the ribbon on top and then stamped the flower on white and punched out!

Very simply done!

Cheering for CHERRIES!

I'm thinking of Joan Jett and CH-CH-CH Cherry Bomb!  I love cherries and of course since the new Mini Catalog has a HUGE cherry stamp, I had to use it!  It also coordinates with the papers from the Sweet Shop designer papers!  I hoard cherries, so I am using my paper 'sparingly'....ok, I know, I can buy more, but I have a hard time parting with some papers sometimes!

So..I stamped this using ink and then decided to use...Cherry scented Embossing power!  YES! It's in the mini Catalog!  I applied 2 way glue to the cherries, and then heated it up. Of course when you open the little jar to the embossing power, the cherry scent just starts flowing!!! YUM!

When someone opens this envelope, they will smell the scent of Cherries. Doesn't that make you smile? I do! 

TODAY at class, I gave away these 4 items to those who attended!!!  Congratulations!  :)

Fresh Vintage -Baja Breeze and Poppy Parade

Stamp a Stacks are for making quickie cards, and sometimes I go overboard on the planning of cards.  This one looks like it is overboard, but it actually is very simple.  I stamped several times, the floral stamp from the Fresh Vintage (SAB) stamp set in Poppy Parade.  I stamp the postage stamp in Baja Breeze. Punched out and layered over the postage stamp punch and the 1 3/8 circle punch and the scallop punch.

Layered over Baja Breeze and you're done!

There's no place like GNOME!

It is so cute to see clever puns on words. I love it when they can be used in cards!  Stampin' Up! gave us this gnome set for FREE by challenging us to book parties!  So, I booked a party!  (it was a class party, but there weren't any rules as to how you book an event so I booked my class!)  When we reached a certain level of bookings, ALL who participated, got this set for FREE!!!

I love that word - FREE!   So getting out some of my markers, my new Framelit dies, and my stamps..I made this card. Of course I had to get the gnome words "GNOMENCLATURE" to go along with the gnome stamp set "GNOME SWEET GNOME"...!!! Teehee!

She was raving about Pinterest, and so of course, I went hmmmmmmmm, and then promptly decided I didn't have time for it.  So, she started raving about it more...and told me more about it. So, now, 1 month later, I am totally addicted to it, and I linked my daughter up with it, and now she loves it too!

It is a vast collection of photos of things that we LOVE...and things that we want to go back to look at!  It is stamping, cooking, things we wish for, and books we want to read, and so many endless things that we want to collect!

The 2012 Color chosen by Pantone...is TANGERINE TANGO!!!
It's supposed to be a color that is good for every-body....and why not for stamping!  Funny that this is the color that we have!  Coincidence???  hmmm....
