FUN Double Easel card

ok, I don't like the title of today's blog, but I used this colorful paper (Playground) and I just love how happy it always makes me feel....

I needed to create a fun "thank you" card that used some bright colors and was something simple and yet fun! I think Playground makes it fun! I used the large flower punch and then the (retired) three flower punch for the smaller flowers.
The samples for this double easel card didn't show anything for the front of the card, so I had to improvise something for it....

The inside, I again used the large flower punch and stamped "for you" and the strawberry...

Inside is THANKS A MILLION!

Fun way to do a pop up and also very clever to keep out & show off on your desk or table! :D

Life is a matter of Moments...

Today, was one of those weird days...You know...those days that funny things happen. I got called in to work and so I went, and as I was leaving work and going to my car, I walk by this fence with morning glories on them.... I saw a swirl of birds (i thought sparrows) flying around, and they swirled in front of this fence with the Morning glories on them. One of the birds flew away, but the other one flew at me and then hovered about 5 feet away in the air from me with the beak pointing at me...


It seemed like minutes but it was actually a few seconds....we both looked at each other, and then......I wasn't sure what it was going to do....

but..it flew up and then around the tree and across and then back to the tree....

So, I decided that today, I would pull out my stamp set and make a card to remember this day....I was amazed that a sweet little bird would make a day so special.....

I think the phrase fits it perfectly...

"Life is a matter of moments...."

It certainly was ...today! .....it took my breath away!

Twisted Easel card

It seems that everyone is doing this Twisted Easel Card...I decided to throw in my ideas for this card. I love how simple it is to make a quickie easy pop up type card!

Simple open and twist! I put the brads in the inside where you can also put a small message. The brads hold the twisted cover to display your image!

Saying goodbyes to Hostess sets....

We're getting close to the end of this CATALOG year...and saying goodbyes to Hostess sets is always sad...but I wanted to share this card with you since it is such a sweet set!

I thought I would pull out my stamp set, and do a ONE-SHEET-Wonder card set. Using soft subtle colors in Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery, Pink Pirouette and Peach Parfait (reminds me of sherbet ice cream....!) I wanted to create a soft romantic sweet set of cards....

I 'randomly' stamped all the elements on a sheet of cardstock and then cut them apart..... Adding some other elements...and I made some quick cards that can be sent out to anyone for any occasion!

See how they all come together...... sweet!

Candy Coated box

Cute little quickie favor boxes are easy if you make your own boxes...How sweet are you if you wrap your candy in a box that can be used for a cute keepsake?

Measure your candy pieces. These Yorks measure 2" x 2 3/4"
I cut the box for about 7 candy pieces so it is 2 1/2" high.

Measure your cardstock.
7" x 7 3/4"
score 2 1/2" on all 4 sides
Punch one side for the window
Cover
3 1/8" x 3 7/8"
score 1/2" on all 4 sides

In the Garden....

Sneak PEEK at a new stamp set..!! Four Frames, which coordinates perfectly with our Designer Punch Label is such a great stamp set. It can be stamped in any color, and accented in a lot of different ways!

I combined it with the Fabulous Florets and the sweet floral papers in Beyond the Garden Designer papers.



A new friend in my yard....observing our backyard...Not sure who he belongs to, but....I think he occasionally comes in my house (through the doggie door...) At least he's well dressed (Tuxedo)

Tomorrow, I am going to the Strawberry Festival with my friend....!!! YUM!

3D flowers

I love this stamp set, Fifth Avenue Floral. I think that the elegant lines for these flowers makes it timeless and easy. Most of the time when I use this set, I stamp it in black, and color in the lines....

I mean, don't we all, in pre-school or kindergarten, learn how to color in the lines and to create works of art.....I love to color! BUT...what if you don't like to color???
How can YOU create a work of art without coloring?

The rhinestones are colored in using markers (copics) and I embossed the leaves and the background with the texture folders. Each of the elements add dimension to this card.

TO create this flower. Stamp the flower 4 times (both of them) on DESIGNER PAPER. The blue flower was cut around the lines to form dimension. All 4 layers were placed on top of each other in the appropriate place.

The red flower was cut and I also cut apart some of the petals and then layered 2 together

Voila! try it!

Stamp OUT Breast Cancer

Strength and hope...the Pink Ribbon symbolizes hope for those who have hope for healing and hope for life.

This is a hybrid card, that we put together using MY Digital Studio and also stamping. We stamped the pink ribbon and cut it out, and stamped the words on the white strip. I used the square punch to create the dove tail edge and the lattice embossing to create texture of the Pretty in Pink cardstock, that was also punched with the scallop border punch.


This was one of the other cards we made using the Strength and Hope stamp set, and the My Digital studio

Custom Background papers are really fun to use. I can control the color and what I use with My Digital Studio.

The butterfly and the tag are all stamped but I can create it using the MDS if I "don't have time to stamp"....

Using this hybrid system of stamping and computer generated images, makes you feel more in control and less stressed in creating your own unique card!

Strength and Hope for A Cure for Cancer....

Using My Digital Studio, I created a background paper to match the colors and styles used in Hope and Strength stamp set. I made my own background paper!

I love that I can create my own cardstock and continue on making unique cards that show character and fun! I teamed with a 3" circle and created what we are calling a "hybrid" card, using both digital and stamping together!

Cooking with My Digital Studio

....did I catch you reading this correctly? well, it isn't a new way to cook....


I used My Digital Studio to create a recipe card!

I love how simple it is, and what I plan to do is to create a cookbook using My Digital Studio. Eventually, I would like to create a cookbook to give to my daughter of some simple recipes that she can prepare, that was......

lovingly created..... BY ME!


The recipes I hope to create will be simple easy recipes that she can make dishes that don't need a lot of preparation and yet are tasty enough to share with friends! And...what better way to leave my legacy to her....recipes that are passed to her!








I also used a box of Rice from Trader Joes. YUM! Very tasty! I hope they continue to make this rice because it is de-lish!

Mother's Day is around the corner!

Mother's Day is around the corner, and I guess I am lucky that I still can celebrate with my mom. As I get older, more and more of my friends are losing their moms....so, I know that this time is precious.

My mom and I haven't always seen eye-to-eye and maybe that's why I've tried hard to maintain a good relationship with my daughter, so that hopefully, we always will be close.

This year, I am sending my mom this card. I haven't used this Wonderful Favorites set much, and so I dusted it off and stamped my words using this. The "happy mother's day" is from the Teeny Tiny Messages set.

I added the boho flowers and then used the flower brads....It was missing something...so I thought of adding a pearl...but after looking at my pearls, realized that I didn't have the right size (used them all up!) so, I pulled out a rhinestone...

I think this is cuter! :D

Hope you send your card out today...so it will be sure to arrive by Saturday....or better yet, hopefully, you can still deliver it in person!
