Pop up Magic!

I have having fun using this set to make a magic card!  I love the uses you can come up with a typewriter!  It is funny to think that most of the kids under the age of 30, probably haven't seen a typewriter at all!  (gasp!)  I remember learning how to type in a class in jr high, and I haven't taken a typing class since!

Magic Message appears!

Happy Valentine's Day

A friend of mine posted something on facebook, and it made me think...that a lot of the holidays are after religious people or events...and for those who are against religion really shouldn't be celebrating holidays...but in the material world, we get caught up in the hype of the world and forget what these holidays really mean....St. Valentine's is a day of celebrating a feast which was started in the year 496 by Pope Gelasius.  They don't really know who or what it was celebrating specifically, but it has been linked to several references of Valentine, and also superceded a pagan holiday.  Anyways, Chaucer (the poet) started celebrating the feast on February 14, as a day of Romantic love....

and so...here we are...

Happy Valentine's Day!

I got this idea from Mary Brown (and Connie Babbert) from their blogs..and it is so cute!  We made this for our Superbowl party, and I made them for my co-workers for Valentine's day...

SAB: Everyday Enchantment with tote box!

I was inspired by a blog from a stamper named Jenny Moors from Dorset, England... I love her style!  I took some of her ideas from her cards, and tweaked some of them a little (because it isn't nice to duplicate it exactly...and I do want to give her credit, because her cards were really really good!)   I also wanted to make a box to hold all the cards in, and of course, it has to be something that I haven't done before....so this box is a box that is a purse!
This box has the lid attached via the ribbon, and it closes just so nicely that it won't slip or slide......
Of course, very simply constructed and yet it matches the notecards perfectly...I love this paper, and I am really going to be sad when it is gone....I hope they bring something back in the new catalog that is similar because it is really lovely!

VALENTINE's DAY is coming up...are you stamping something for your special someone?? I sent off my goodies to my daughter in school last week. I wanted to be sure she got them before Valentine's day..sometimes the mail doesn't get delivered very quickly...I was certainly surprised that she got them really quickly!!!!  XOXOX

Another..GET Well!!!

Told ya...this was a weekend of GET WELLS!  So, this one I stamped on KRAFT cardstock and then outlined with the White Gel pen, and stamped using white craft ink around the edges.  I also die cut a strip of the scallop edgelets, and layered it around the edges of the heart.  Then it is layered over Designer paper from the Berry Blossoms.  The Pear Pizzazz cardstock goes well with the Calypso Coral designer paper from the Berry Blossoms.

Get Well Cards....

They are never easy to do...sending card that tell someone to GET WELL...that means that someone isn't feeling well.  This weekend, that's what I had to do..was to make Get Well Cards....for a couple of friends... So, I pulled out some scrap cardstock and decided to stamp .....I had this scrap piece of KRAFT cardstock, so I cut the ends using the Edgelet dies- I love the delicate scallop cuts.  And this stamp goes perfectly with the scallops!  The flowers fit inside each scallop....and then I decided to stamp the inside, so I masked over the edges, and then stamped the larger flower inside.

What I love about this card,is that it is VERY MINIMAL coloring!

I used the white gel pen to color in the flowers, and then it looked like it could use some more details so I dotted in between the flowers for an added touch!  Then, adding the label punch and the "GET WELL" and the dotted Marina Mist ribbon....it tied it off perfectly!!!

Voila!  done!

Magic De-Coder Valentine's Card

For Superbowl Sunday,........ I wanted to do some fun Valentine's cards that has twists!
I started with the typewriter...and then this evolved into a Magic De-Coder card!
I stamped the words inside the heart, but you know...sometimes, things just look better in your head than what goes on the card, right??
So...since I couldn't really read the words too well inside the card, this is what I came up with!  I used cellophane wrap in RED and it works just perfect for this card!
You can hide any message inside the heart...and can you imagine doing this for birthday, or hiding a number....(ie: I have a brother that is turning 50 this year! )and, you can change the color of the heart or (other image) and use a different color cellophane!

One thing to note..the heart on the front of the card has the NEW Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler!!! OOH how easy it is to use! LOVE IT!

Elegant Bird

When I first saw this bird die, I wasn't sure it was going to be something I would love...I like birds, they're pretty, but seeing some of the lovely things that have been done with it, told me that NOT getting it would be something I would regret...so..Since it is Sale A bration, and this qualifies for almost 1/2 a SAB item...I jumped!

I'm so glad I did! I love how sweet this dove is, and how much you can do with it!

I embossed it, and added it to this tri-fold card, and I'm currently working on another idea that I saw from Shelli Gardner's blog....using the same Elegant Bird die!  I'm still working on it, so as soon as I am done, I will post photos of it!

You need to see what YOU can come up with!  If you purchase it on my website, and would like to show off your work, send me an email and I will post it here!!!

Happy...whatever..!

Today, I got in an order that I placed at the beginning of Sale A Bration, and although I waited a couple of days to finalize it, it did arrive on my porch ...!!! I was excited to open and start playing. I didn't go to CHA (last day) because really, I was exhausted!  It was a fun filled weekend, but I need to get other things done...like my own stamping!  So, I stamped the typewrite on vanilla cardstock in Early Espresso.

KEEP the backing that comes off the clear stamps, and use this as a mask.  Cover your stamped image with the backing piece.

Sponge over the masked area with Early Espresso, and then Soft Suede.  I used an outward stroke from the masked area out to the edges of the cardstock.
Lifting up the mask and then rubbing around the edges, this is what you have!

It leaves a clean shadow around the stamped image!  (cool, right?)
Distress the edges and crumple up your cardstock. Yes, I know we all love crisp paper, but this is really doing the distress ..and it relieves stress!  So, crumple away!  I also rolled the corners and then tore it a little too!

Using Marina Mist, I cut using the new Labels Collection Framelits Dies, and then Texturized it. I also sponged around the edges and around the bumps from the texture folder.

The card needed something else so I stamped the lace onto the Kraft (crumb cake) cardstock, and then sponged and crumpled it again...ooh this is fun!

Adding all the elements and twine plus some punched flowers and color matching brads....I have a simple textured card that can be a generic birthday card...!!!  I know it has some lace on it, but I think a guy wouldn't mind it, do you??

Happy GROUND HOG DAY...!!! Is he going to see his shadow???
