Shimmery Medallion Card

Medallion Reflection
today's card was using the Medallion stamp and Soft Suede ink plus the Champagne Shimmer Paint -116806, 5.95
I inked up the stamp,in Soft Suede, and then sponged the Champagne ink on the rubber (after inking it up)
Then stamped it on the Soft Sueded Cardstock
the ribbon is attached to the card through the star Brad.
There are 2 ribbons, the striped Olive Grosgrain ribbon and Soft Suede Polka Dot grosgrain ribbon together.

Take 4" of ribbon (both)

Place the smaller ribbon on top of the wider ribbon

Fold in 1/2 (put cut edges together)

Then, fold the woven side edges together

Cut the ribbon from the FOLDED center to the raw edges at an ANGLE to the outer edge

Add the Brad to the center (pinch the ribbon)

...and then, punch a hole in the card and you're done!

Happy Halloween!
Today, it was a sad day and I needed something to cheer me up...so making this card was more fun and uplifting...than doing a Halloween card. My daughter's Homecoming game last night had a terrible event after the game, and a girl was shot as she was walking back to their car (or home) with friends. She died later that night, and it has affected all the students in the school. She was a Junior, only 16. Our car has problems and so we're house bound, but I think after last night, I am almost relieved that we have no place that we have to go to.....
Stay safe..and hug your kids!!!

Coaster Calendar

This is something I have been thinking of for some time....making a calendar that was all papercrafted..however, I really wanted to show photos. Since I have a teenager-soon-to-be-adult and who is not being cooperative about taking photos, I decided to make one with sizzix die cuts and papercraft one!
This one is using the Scallop Square die, and Cast a Spell Designer paper. I cut out the swirls and was going to use that but then when I punched it out of the background piece, I realized that was the thing I needed on this coaster! The ghost and pumpkin is a retired Sizzix die that I NEVER use, and finally saw a reason to use!
I have already started on the other months, but at least this one gets the ideas flowing....so I can have it ready for next year!!!

Halloween Centerpiece

Imagine, you have a Halloween party but you don't want it to be your "run of the millHalloween"? What if you have a bunch of adult stampers coming to your house? What do you do?

I decided to take some of the ideas I have seen in magazines, and this was in Papercrafts a few months ago. It uses the Cupcake centerpiece and Handmade Boxes! Each of the boxes contain a surprise that any stamper would LOVE! (stamps, embossing powder, glitter, etc)

I used all Stampin' Up! Supplies and Sizzix/Stampin' up Dies! The boxes are all 2" x 2", and the dies are all Stampin' Up! and SU Exclusive!

To make the boxes, Cut your cardstock 6" x 6". If you want to have easy tops to remove, cut your piece just a little shy of 6x6 (like 5 7/8" x 5 7/8").
Score at 2" around each edge. If you have a Scor Pal, it is very easy to do.

FOLD your crease lines

Cut the corners, leaving a small 1/4" tab on 1 edge. I left the 1/4" tab at the center (horizontal) edge. This is your tape edge.

Use Sticky Tape to adhere the box sides

Tape up the sides to form the box

This is your box bottom!

Now to make your top, cut a square of the decorative paper 4" x 4". Be sure it is 4" on the line, and not less otherwise you won't be able to get the top onto the bottom.

You will score each edge 1" all the way around, and repeat like you did the bottom of the box....

Snow Buddies

Loving this set and having fun coloring snowmen! It is going to be over 80 degrees F today and I am thinking snowmen!

I think that since I am sitting in my stamp room in my shorts and tshirt, in October, then life is pretty good.

I have construction going on right now, getting my roof redone, and it is very noisy. More noisier than the birds who seem to stomp all over the ceiling of my patio room/stamp room!

But, i know that most of the hard work is getting done today and I would rather be where I am than out on top of the roof where it is too hot

This is a 6x6 Scrapbook page, and although there isn't much room for a photo, it can be a title page for a scrapbook! I colored in the snowman on whisper white, after cutting it out using the circle scissors, and the Scallop circle #2. The Soft Suede and the Real Red coordinate well with the Christmas Cocoa paper! The Real Red Cardstock is stamped in White Craft ink and the letters were all colored with White Craft ink and then Chunky Clear glitter was adhered using the Heat n Stick Embossing Powder.

Christmas is only a few weeks away....gotta get your gift mojo started!!!

M. I. A. --> Missing in Action - Now Back again!

Missing in Action...well, sort of. I think that priorities are that you have to get through life, and although stamping is in my life, sometimes other things have to take place in order for stamping to get done.

I will explain later but this is something I have been wanting to do, is make a diorama card using the SNOW BUDDIES set from the Mini Catalog, and to make it look like a Snow Globe!

Did I create it?

Well, it is hard to see but, what I did was create the diorama by cutting a piece of cardstock and scoring the edges.

Then I placed the back of the card on, after stenciling (I created it) a circle, and then a base for the globe on the white cardstock. I used Bashful Blue and Soft Suede to create the background. The Merry Christmas was stamped in Black, over the globe.

The clear acetate was placed in the folds of the Bermuda Bay cardstock, and I placed the snowman on the inner layer. Then I used the ICICLE Rub ons on the second layer (silver color). It does come in 2 different colors, White and Silver. I like both of them but decided to use the silver on this card!
The front of the card was created by cutting a circle using the Circle Scissors, and then stamping in White Craft in the snowflakes and swirl from the Snow Buddies set.

I punched the snowflake from whisper white and attached it to the front.

I really love the dotted swirl and the cute snowflakes from this set! I will be sad when it retires in January, so if you would like to get this set, you have to place an order of 300.00 in order to get this one...so, if you want it....start collecting orders and place it on my website!!!

Have a Happy Weekend...it is gorgeous..don't you just love FALL?

Last Waterfall

This is the last one
At least for now....
I did this waterfall book using the Razzleberry Lemonade and So Saffron, Pixie pink, Rich Razzleberry, and Old Olive. The scallop square was texturized using the Finial Press embossing folder. The big shot die cuts finish off the front of the book but of course you have space to add a picture! (or title)

Waterfall Books...Flock Together...

I like the title of today's blog entry....I think that sometimes I don't know what I want to title each day, and I repeat myself. I am on a roll, and I already used the "On a Roll"...so...this is using the Flock Together Designer Paper. (don't say Flock fast...lol)

I used the Bird dies and the flowers and leaves because it just seemed to go along with this paper. The Tempting Turquoise, Garden Green and So Saffron is just the perfect combination coordinating colors to go with this paper package.

the tab pulls the pages out, and they flip as you open it out! Plus you can hide a surprise in each of the pages as they flip over, and the tabbed page can hold a flat photo (don't put anything too bulky there because it will interfere with the flipping mechanism. Also on the first page where the flower is, don't put anything too bulky as well.

I have another book that I will share (possibly tomorrow ) and a class tomorrow night. I am going to try to remember to take a picture of the books they make because we always learn from what others share as well!!!

Peeking Snowman!

Stampin' Up! has 2 Hostess sets in the Mini Catalog! One of the sets is a level 2 set, called Snow Buddies. I love this set, and the snowman! I used some (non SU ) oval tag dies and the Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder to create this card.

I embossed the Ballet blue cardstock and then mounted it on the Whisper White card. The tag has the Snowman stamped in Black and then colored in with markers. The ribbon is tied, and then pulled through the small hole at the top of the oval, and the the knot is at the top. I tie the ribbon and the cut the back to 'save' on ribbon! You don't need to tie the ribbon around the whole cardstock, since it is just wasted. This saves on some ribbon!

Waterfall Albums ....One a Roll.....

Today, I had a class on making these Waterfall Books, and it went really well, (I think!). I actually used the Night & Day Papers, and one of the girls used her 'old' retired papers Good Morning Sunshine. They both came out great!
I thought I would make one using this Holiday Papers, Merry Moments. I love love love this paper! I think that it is so old fashion and yet has a contemporary feel to it.
I cheated and used Sizzix dies as well as the Stampin Up! Sizzix dies.

The Trees are done with the medium and small Sizzix Dies (probably retired) and the Holly Berries and leaf (also retired).
I purchased these a long time ago, and so since I don't have too many new dies, I thought I better pull these out of my own stash to decorate this Album! I think they came out really good, and within the theme. So, forgive me for using (NON-SU) items to embellish this but for practical purposes, you can hand cut your own decorative elements in your own book!

A Bucket for you!

Seeing the cool things that you can do thinking out of the 'box'.....er, pillow box that is...

I found this on Splitcoaststampers, and oooh, the possibilities are endless. I don't think this came out really super 'cute', but it was what I had at hand. I was using the papers from the Night & Day Designer papers, and Basic Gray. I used my Spellbinders Nesties to cut out the scallop and the circles.

Stamped this cake from the 8 Great Greetings set, and colored in with SU Markers.

I got some Ghiradelli candies from Michaels and then wrapped it in the smallest cello bags and tied with gingham ribbons.

The red foil metallic shreddies are from the party department in any big box store.....but you can use the paper kinds as well!

Email me if you have any questions about this project!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I decided to stamp a few cards to send out to friends to remind them to get their annual check!

I have been lucky so far, but my mom had a scare a few years ago, and although it was benign, at least she got it checked out.

Just reminding you to not put it off. I find that I do that often....so this is also on myself too!!!

Waterfall Album Class

This is the WATERFALL Album! I adapted the waterfall card that flips the pages, into a 6x6 book, that can hold larger pictures for that special person or event! I used basic black cardstock and Night & Day Designer paper, from Stampin' Up!'s Mini Catalog, and although I didn't do the inside yet, the polka dots just lent itself to Cherries! I love cherries!

The Cherries are done with the 1 3/4" circle punch in Real Red, and the leaves are punched from Garden green, I punched it twice to make the oval shape. The stem was hand cut. I highlighted the cherries with the white gel pen.

I have tried to post my first video, but for some reason, it failed...so although I have been trying to work the bugs out....I hope to be able to post it soon.....

The way this book works is by pulling the tab, and the pages flip over!

WCMD - World Card Making Day!

Yesterday was World Card Making day!
So, I planned for my daughter and her friends to come and make cards for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. They would be able to have some fun being creative, and also get community service hours, which they need to graduate.

Our goal was to make as many cards as we could. Of course there was supposed to be more girls, but only 3 showed up (including my daughter).
But, I had planned for at least 100 cards. I thought it might be close where we might not finish, and maybe if more girls had shown up, it probably wouldn't have been completed (funny how that works) but with these 3 girls, and 2 moms plus myself, we did pretty good!

We actually did 118 cards!

Teamwork...(the girls are from our Basketball team!)

Days of Old Christmases.....Christmas Traditions or Crafts from Christmas Past

Once upon a time....when I was a little girl...
my mom used to take the little magazine called the Reader's Digest and she would collect them...and then make them into Christmas Trees to set out on the table. I remember doing them in Girl Scouts as well. We would fold the pages, very carefully, and then spray paint them at the end, but we'd also decorate them with yarn and ribbons and bright sequins...

Those days are long gone...

But someone just had a link to them, and it brought back memories from years ago..(the 1960's!!!)

Here's a link in case you want to know how to make these

Gift giving can be so easy to do with the "right stuff". My upline shared this idea with us at our meeting on Saturday, and so when I got home, I made this for my SAS class as a gift from me!
I am having a class on Halloween, and I would love to show you how to make this!
So, if you would like to learn how to do this, be sure to email me and come to my class!
Gift giving is fun, and can save you money if you make it yourself!
