Keiki Tag Card

Keiki means child in Hawaiian. I received a gift from one of my relatives who went to Hawai'i for a holiday. It is a coin purse, that is shaped in a Hawaiian girl shape. It is so cute, and was the inspiration for this project today!

First I cut a tag using the (discontinued) Tag die from Sizzix. It has a crescent shape at the top. I cut the base from Basici black.

Then, I cut out of Creamy Caramel, the same shape but curved it using the Large Circle Die (clear die)

Then I cut out a piece of Designer Paper from Razzleberry Lemonade. This makes the dress.

To Make the Hair
Cut a length of yarn. Wrap it around the top of the tag, and then insert the strands of yarn through the wrapped yarn.

I punched the star flower punch and the trio flower and placed a Rhinestone brad through it, attaching it to a few strands of 'hair'.

Added it to textured Bermuda Bay Cardstock and placed on Basic Black....and Voila!

You're own Keiki or Wahine!

Happy Stamping, or Die Cutting!!!

Big Shot card

Tori asked me to make a card for her friend, that was similar to a card that I made for her (but it was using stamped letters). I decided that the BIG SHOT had the right letters! Of course, the Simple Letters dies are perfect, and great for not just making scrapbook titles but for cards to personalize!

I cut the letters from Pixie Pink and mounted it over the Swirl die cut base, this is actually the part most of you throw away..!!! I keep it because sometimes you need the curves!

The swirl is used inside, and just adds a little zing to the inside!

The scallop edge was added to the front and the back of the card.

On a really sad note....we lost our beloved kitty cat today, Ariel. She's been our best cat, who we've loved for the last 12 years. We adopted her, or I guess should say, she adopted us. She was the one who kept us in line, and always reminded us that we had to be loving to each other....She kept the monsters under the bed away, and always was gentle and loving....

We will dearly miss her....ARIEL

Step It Up! Progressive Scrapbooking

Progressive scrapbooking is an idea I love. I love that you can show scrapbookers that they don't have to be inhibited by what they see in our stamping, or scrapbooking magazines. You can adapt anything to use your layouts for scrapbooks!

This is a 6x6 page. Of course, it can be translated easily to a 12x12, but how can you use it in a 8 1/2 x 11 page?

Well, by adding more - of course!

And then, to step it up to a 12x12, you add more! I added more die cuts and designer papers to create more visual movement around the layout.

Gift Giving

Christmas is early! I should've had Christmas music playing in the background, but it still freaks me out when I hear it in the stores right now!

But with Thanksgiving already coming next week, I guess why fight the inevitable!

So, we're busy stamping and creating and making fun projects today, getting ready for GIFT GIVING! This was my GIFT GIVING Class! I had 3 people but the projects were bigger than ordinary!
This is what we made today, and I know you can't see them that close.....I wanted to give my class a chance to disclose what they made themselves!!!

Owl Love You!

I saw this in the "M" Craft super store ad, and it was just so cute! The owls are starting to fade from popularity but I think they are still very cute! This is a craft project that is done out of felt, and the pieces are pre-cut. I wanted to make mine out of cardstock...so...

Gathering up Cardstock that was similar in color, I used Pixie Pink, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Only Orange, Black, and whisper white. The letters are die cut using Crushed Curry and the Background cardstock is Bermuda Bay. I used the die cut chipboard leaves, and colored them using the Green Galore Craft ink.
So bright and cheerful, just the perfect sign for a cubby or room, don't you think?

Baby is it cold outside???

November is here....where have I been??

It has been a long time and my apologies. I haven't been able to stamp due to all the other things in life....but, today I sat down and decided to revision a card I saw in the Stampin' Up! Stampin' Success monthly magazine that we receive as demonstrators!

This was from the November issue, and I didn't like the way it was finished at the top, and so I added a little touch of my own!

I covered the acetate on top using Silver cardstock instead of white ribbon. I stamped Peace on Earth on it as well but it could also have a Happy New Year, or other wintery sentiment! You can even have it as a Thank you Celebration card....

In any case, I layered the printed acetate over the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock using Snail Adhesive. It does show, and maybe if you aren't too picky, you can get away with it like this....

What I decided to do was to cut a piece of silver cardstock 1 1/2" x 4" and place a ribbon at the edge, and put the excess on the back as shown.

After, I place it over the top, so that it overlapped over the line of adhesive showing through the acetate...

What do you think?
If you want to see the original card that Stampin' Up did, you need to sign up!... and you can visit it anytime online! You can also get this monthly magazine as inspiration for your stamping ideas!
