Elements of Style

This isn't anything new...in fact, this has been around for some time but it is really new for me...I just finally got the 'bug' to make one of these..and I love it!

I've seen some beautiful samples, but just never had the "time" or the urge to make one but today, I did...I finally have needed to come up with some new projects...and this one is really a sweet one. You can fill this with some treats, or fun snacks for a party favor, or maybe a gift for a co-worker....

I have a small ball of yarn inside...yes, it is yarn. I don't know why except I was thinking this would be a great gift for a friend who likes to knit. There would be a couple of knitting needles sticking out..and the sweet ball of yarn (guess what color! - yes, OLIVE!)

To top this off, I have used ribbon through the holes punched in the tab and added a silver slider from the Hodgepodge hardware....The ribbon is from the RIBBON ORIGINALS "ELEMENTARY" #116231. I love how it coordinates with the the colors that Stampin' Up carries! The designer paper is OLD OLIVE and the cardstock is Not Quite Navy.

The stamp set is from the NEW Summer Mini Occasions 2010 catalog called Elements of Style #120045 (clear mount set)

Happy Bird Day in a double pocket!

What a cool card for a birthday! I saw this on Stampin' Connect and I loved how simple it is! I decided to use it on paper that I don't use much, and I am ashamed to say that this is not my favorite paper....(I know, that as demonstrators, we're supposed to LOVE everything, right!?? HA!) This is a double pocket which came from this blog



I used Old Olive, Brilliant Blue, and Real Red with Tall Tales Designer Papers #115678 $9.95



The Jumbo Brad at the top, is accented with the Wide Striped Olive ribbon which is tied with a piece of jute string.

I love this little bird. It reminds me of the little birds that sit on elephants in all the Animal Planet shows. And Happy "BIRD" day is one of my favorite ways to say, Happy Birthday!

It comes from the hostess set "Picture This" level 1, #118538 from the Occasions Mini Catalog. This mini catalog is retiring at the end of this week, April 30th.

I also lined the envelope with the same paper, to accent the card...how cool to get a coordinated envelope!

New Color Charts 2010

Color Renovation means that we all have to have new charts for our Colors!!! So I was working on it this weekend, and although I sold my "old" in-color ink pads, and I don't have the new colors yet, I decided to make the chart and try to put in as many colors as I have! I have almost all the cardstock (no River Rock), so I did pretty good in showing all the colors of our New Color Families!

After the Catalog comes in (or when I have a chance to be able to put in the item numbers, I will have the chart completed.)

I am offering to my customers, a FREE Session to make a color chart! This will probably be in June or July....but, I will have all the inks and cardstocks ready for you to mount on your own printed charts!


Of course, if you live too far away to come to my house, I am more than willing to mail to you a chart with all the colors STAMPED on it, and you can attached the color cardstock chips to it for 5.00 (which includes the postage). This offers is first for my customers, and downline, and my mailing list!

Watercolor Trio

One of the new sets coming out in the NEW SUMMER MINI Catalog which starts May 1 and continues until August 31, 2010!

This is called Watercolor Trio, and I used Perfect Plum and Old Olive. I love the wide striped grosgrain ribbon! I used the Whimsical Words (SAB - retired)

I know you can't see it but this is glittered and shimmery!

Reasons why you should be a Demonstrator!

No this isn't the TOP 10 Reasons to be a demonstrator, but what I love about being a demonstrator, is getting to see publications like this each month! I love the displayed creativity that is always artfully done!

Now, I have been a demo for almost 15 years! I will be celebrating my anniversary in September! Each year the Stampin' Success Magazine gets better and better!

This month featured a cake...NO, not the frosting calorie filled cake, but a cake made all of Paper and paper embellishments! The oodles of candy and lollipops and bon bons also made of paper were just a eyecatching treat! I loved the yummy cupcakes too!







Convention is coming up..and of course, this is something that is so cute! I love the cuteness of this logo. Each Convention is always a fun filled event with so much to do and so much to see!

And FREE stamps!







Of course, they also share ideas and each month is packed with ideas, fashion color trends as well as cute simple ideas to share with your family and friends, and aren't they the reason why you make your cards???

Now, without giving away too much from the Monthly magazine, you can just see that there is over 30 pages of ideas and color color color! It has come a long way from where it started when it was just 2 or 3 colors and it was basically written and then printed and mailed out...this is definitely PROFESSIONAL!

Stair Step Card

I saw this card on Amy Celona's blog and had to make one...I love these papers SWEET PEA! I am going to miss them when they retire at the end of the month, but YOU don't have to miss out on them! BUY it NOW!

Happy Easter!

The meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ's victory over death. His resurrection symbolizes the eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him. The meaning of Easter also symbolizes the complete verification of all that Jesus preached and taught during His three-year ministry. If He had not risen from the dead, if He had merely died and not been resurrected, He would have been considered just another teacher or Rabbi. However, His resurrection changed all that and gave final and irrefutable proof that He was really the Son of God and that He had conquered death once and for all.

Happy Easter!

This card uses the Chocolate Bunny Stamp from the Occasions Mini Catalog! Doesn't it look like it is chocolate? I stamped it in Chocolate Chip, and then burnished the underside to make the bunny look more dimensional. Then layering the leaves, and the punched flowers from the Trio Flower punch and the Boho Flowers punch. They are layered and then pastel brads added to the center. The rabbit and the flowers are layered on white cardstock embossed with the Polka Dot Embossing folder. I had this vision in my head for a while and not sure that I saw it in someone else's card but...this is the result from my time creating on a quiet Saturday afternoon...

Rich Razzleberry

One of the Suprise card I am planning involves this set! I love Vintage Vogue! The flowers are easy to cut out and the leaves were done using the Sizzlet die. I love how lacy and natural they make the flowers look! The flowers are layered, the larger one in Rich Razzleberry and the smaller flower in Pale Plum. The background is stamped in Rich Razzleberry and then sponged to soften the white cardstock. The Razzleberry ribbon covers over the separation of the white and the sponged area.

You will have to come to the class to make this card! Come and see how to open this, which is a surprise as well! Saturday April 17 or Sunday April 18. Cost: 18.00 includes the Surprise stamp set for 4 attendees! (drawing for the sets)

Last night we had a banquet celebrating my daughter's school team sport (basketball) and she won the drawing for the WNBA Sparks uniform (signed by DeLisha Milton Jones, #8). She's standing next to Aminah Mills, the rep for the LA Sparks, (WNBA- Woman's professional Basketball). My daughter is graduating from high school in June, so I know from now until June, my postings might be a little sparse, and I do apologize....hang in there with me...!!! xoxo
