Holiday 2011 Mini Catalog Kick-off! Projects

These were the 3 projects we completed yesterday at the Kick off!

The fall leaves were a BIG Hit! What a beautiful stamp set, and the combination of 2 step stamping is a simple way to make it look even more spectacular!

The Stocking card was another fun way to show how to use a Sizzix die and still make it into a card by folding it and placing the fold away from the edge of the die......

The last one was the cute stocking punched card and the pennant die doily. I think they are going to need to come up with more doily dies..don't you??

Stocking Card

Another stocking card, but this time...it is one large enough to really put in a treat! I love this stocking. I Have to find other seasons to use a stocking for...can we create a seasonal stocking like a Easter Stocking, Thanksgiving stocking, and Halloween stocking?? Maybe Valentines too?

Sweet Treat boxes

Beyond the Garden treat boxes are elegant when the wrapped candies not only show off the beautiful papers, but show off the new Candy Wrappers! I stamped the 4 YOU on a ordinary address label sticker, cut it out and placed it over the designer paper.

Be sure to read the HERSHEY's disclosure on their website for restrictions on wrapping candy. (yes, there are restrictions) If you're giving away the candy boxes to people as favors, then it probably isn't so restrictive, but if you're planning on selling what you've made, please be sure to follow the guidelines, so you won't get into any legal problems!

I wrapped the candies using designer paper which is stuck to itself, and can be removed by sliding it off. The label is stuck to the paper....

The flowers were die cut and run through the texture folders, and I just love the sponged effect on the edges...

If you're coming to the class on Sunday, this is what you'll receive... hint -wink! :D

Hang up those stockings!

Hang up those stockings because Christmas is only 122 days away! I love the new sets in the NEW HOLIDAY Mini! I think the punches and the stamps are soo cute!

This new punch coordinates with the stocking punch. The Merry Christmas is from the new Hand Penned Holidays stamp set of 4 words, all elegantly scribed!

YOU can order from the New mini starting Sept 1st. Be sure to look through the current Mini to be sure there isn't something that you want from that book before it is all gone!

Pocket Card

Just thought this was the cutest paper! I love the fruity papers and the colors are...not what I thought was going to be something I would like, but it is 'growin' on me! (pun..get it?) ok, never mind!

I like the shock of the orange in the Calypso Coral. It is a SHOCK of color in the GREEN and Basic Gray. They really bring out the Lucky Limeade!

I decided to use my birdcages because I didn't have the fruit set that coordinates with this paper. BUT, i think this looks cute and whimsical, don't you?

I got the pocket card from someone on the list..and the name escapes from me right now...as soon as I find the name, I will post it... S*T*A*Y tuned! ----IT IS...RICHARD GARAY! He's the designer of this version of a pocket CARD!

I also used our NEW tool - the SIMPLY SCORED! Stayed tuned for that too!!!!

Swivel Telescope Card

Julie Davidson created this card, and called it a telescope card, but I'm going to call it a swivel telescope since it swivels more than just 'telescopes'!

I copied her card almost exactly except I didn't have the same stamp sets, and I also needed a sympathy card.

I used the Berry Blossoms Designer papers (ON SALE 3 pkg get 1 free!) and Going Gray, combined with Lucky Limeade.

The stamp sets are: Printed Petals, and Thoughts & Prayers.

Of course, using the Sizzix die shapes makes this card a SNAP! to create!

Love! Stampin Up!

This is my 1000th blog entry! WOW...I never thought that when I started this blog in 2006, that I would ever reach 1000 entries. I never thought I would have that much to say! HA!

Well, today's project is a banner using the pennant die and punches! I love the easy way that all the items coordinate! The papers are from the Beau Chateau Designer papers, and the colors are Soft Suede, Pretty in Pink and Marina Mist. I embossed the circles that were cut from Brushed Gold Cardstock. The pennants were attached to ribbon, and accented with the teeny punches.

These little pennants can be attached to a larger card, or a scrapbook page! You can even place it on your wall for someone really cute and special! What words would you spell out using the pennant punch and the Timeless aphabet dies?

Fall into the New Holiday Mini Catalog

FALL.....I know, we're still in summer, but these colors are so nice, they don't have to be used just for FALL!

I love love love this set of Designer Papers! I think that they are some of the loveliest colors. This is one of the New papers that is coming out in the NEW Holiday mini Catalog!

Paisleys and swirls, with lovely shades of Pool, Sunny Suede and greens. Might be for fall, but you're going to love this paper too!

u r NO. 1

This card...is a stretch for me. I don't do dark colors, and don't mix browns and blues and more browns..and I don't usually make teen themed cards...Well, this looks like it could be teen, right? My daughter really liked it.

I used the texture folder to emboss the chocolate chip cardstock, with stripes (but the herringbone looks cool too) If it was a girl you can also use the vintage wallpaper embossing folder!

I cut out the guitar, and punched out the circle elements. The "u" "r" is from the timeless type dies and the designer paper is from the Well Worn Package. I combined it with River Rock and Not Quite Navy. I have to say, I like it more..but it still is not my favorite color combinations..!!!

Addicted to yarn and paper

Don't you just love it when two of your addictions can be used together? It sure makes the guilt trip seem less painful! I have been working on some smaller knitting projects and saw this cute Mini Sweater pattern. I thought why not make a little sweater....this would only be for a friend who really appreciates the tiny sweater and who might ...let's say, put it on her Holiday/Christmas tree??? The sweater took me about 1 1/2 hrs to make and on teeny needles (size 2) and the hanger was from "M" big box store. I got them a long time ago, and they sure have come in handy!

HAPPY KNITTING!

My title for this posting is probably a good title for a blog...well, maybe someday..I do have a blog for my knitting but I haven't really put them together except occasionally mentioning it...

Quick Cards

This is a quickie card I sent off to someone I just met...and I wanted to make it colorful and fun....Just like her!

I stamped a sheet of cardstock using IN-colors only from this year and last year. I love how they coordinate together!

2 Step Stamping makes it look so much more complicated than it really is!

Generation gap...

The QUEEN of the Missions in California...

for my birthday this year, my daughter wanted to take me on a trip...plus she wanted to "go" someplace. We decided to ask my mom to go with us, - 3 generations of our family .....

We stopped at Santa Barbara Mission, built in 1786...it was a beautiful trip and we had a nice time!
