Altering Board Books

I got these Board books from the TARGET 1.00 Bin in the front of the store...They are really cool board books, which have a LIFT the Flap story.

The flaps come off really easily, and are only adhered with a rubber cement type adhesive. I then covered each page using the GLUE STICK and the Designer Papers....

Trimming the corners round, so that it finishes off the egdes, and I used the Cutie Pie Papers. OOoh, I love the bright colors! I had some photos of my daughter's beach days from 2006, which I just love all the pictures of beach, surfing and the friends....

The photo on the right side of this page, is a lift the flap, which I glued the photo to the flap (you can see the green tab for the flap) and you can then adhere a photo or journaling under the photo. It adds another dimension and doesn't waste the flaps!

You can see the whole book is covered, from front to back to spine.

It still needs more embellishments, but as I get inspired, I can add to this book more and more....I think it has a great start, and collage isn't that far from my mind.....maybe getting some sand to put on some pages too...lol..it was very windy, and too bad we can't bottle the Pacific Ocean smell....hmmm, can you smell the salt? I do love that ocean smell!

This is the cover of the book....I had taken this photo of the kids with the sunset in the background and they are almost silhouetted.......

It was a great day, and one of my favorite photos.....Kawabuga! Let's ride the waves.....
How easy is it to recycle your board books??? Well, I think it is very simple and very economical...and we are thinking...GREEN!
We also will keep adding to the book..so it will be changing...and making it better each time we add to the memories!

i LoVe bUiLd A bRaD!

I love the Build a BRAD!

It is one of the best embellishments that SU has added to their accessories section of the Catalog!

It is so cool to use and accent the Baroque Motif stamp set, as well as others..but I love this set, so it is one of my favorites!
You've got to try this....

Punch it out embellishments

This is one of my simple punched cards, that i bring back again, from time to time. It works great with this set, since they fit perfectly with the square punches.

I can then punch the double rectangle punch for the ribbon through the square...pretty knifty..!

New Cards - Gate folded cards...etc

This card was scoped from Cambria Turnbow's site, although I changed the papers just a little and didn't use the whole sheet of double sided Designer papers. I mounted mine to River Rock Cardstock, and I didn't want to take the time to stitch it...(her's was really beautiful stitched though...so don't get me wrong..it was absolutely..gorgeous!)

This is a close up of the Build a Brad...don't you just love the detail on it? The little clear dots are included in the kit, and you punch out the image using the 1/2" punch, and it fits perfectly in the brad. Then lay the clear plastic cover on top, and voila! it is done!

This is the same format but using a 6x12" cardstock gate folded

This is using the New Spring Break papers..!!! Love it! Inside the flower is another build a brad, stamped in Wild Wasabi, the flower is stamped in Blue Bayou, which matches the papers. I stamped the cardstock white background in the Bitty Backgrounds in Wild Wasabi and River Rock. It is a great accent to the white cardstock and then the words are stamped in Blue Bayou.

---------->

This one is using the NEW BERRY BLISS Designer papers....Love the Pomegranate!

and this last one was adapted from the Memo books from Convention...I didn't have the "Call me Anytime" stamp...so I stamped it using the letters and cut them out...

I love the NEW in-colors...Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou, and Sky Blue......OOOH, you got to see this one...it looks better in person!

NEW Papers, Rub ONS! and Oodles of fun!

I am addicted....

But at least this addiction is not illegal or immoral...(well, maybe...some might not understand it at all....)

But I love these rub ons! I think they are so much fun to play with and just wish they could be used over and over, but ....there are so many images on each sheet, and each packages comes in 2 colors! White and Black!

You will just have to come over and try them!

You can see that there are different styles, but this comes from the EASTERN set, which I just love! I made this teeny little accordion book for my friend Julie, who lives in Wichita, KS. I saw her at Leadership in Palm Springs, and even though I did not attend as a attendee, I went to see her. I also got to see Anne Oshiro too!

The Rub Ons work great on Glass..be sure your glass is warm...if it is too cold it doesn't stick well. We'll see how this does during the summer when it is HOT!

Happy New Year!! 2008

Tag Tag Tags!
I made a tag book using a TAG BOARD book from Micheal's. I got this in their scrapbook section, and using very small thumbnail photos, I embellished it with photos taken by Tori's camera and my own camera!

We're now officially camera Bugs!

I used the new set that is in the NEW Stampin Up! Summer Spring Catalog and Idea book!

AND the NEW GINGER BLOSSOM papers! Don't you just love the rich colors!

I also got some of the Bali Breeze papers, so I will make something using those papers SOON!

Gosh, you've got to just love the versatility of the double sided papers! You can do so much with the papers, and it isn't limited to scrapbooking! You can make cards, and special projects with the lovely colors and patterns!

I sponged around the edges to give it definition and to give it an 'aged' look...isn't it funny how we love things to look old...but we don't exactly want to BE LOOKING OLD-er! lol
