Pay it Forward

Posted on the Angel Company Blog...
thought this was a nice way to spread cheer....

If we all did this....what would happen? I think that everyone has a good person inside of them, at least at one time or another. I would like to think we all can bring that out in everyone. It is like a Wave or a SMILE....can we make it spread out to affect everyone?

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Love,
Dianne

Paying it Forward
I saw on the news this morning that a customer in a drive-thru line at a Starbucks in Seattle, paid for the customer behind them. I recently told you of a co-worker who did the same thing at a local McDonald's. The reason the Seattle story made national news, however, is because everybody kept the giving going. The second car then paid for the third car's order... and so on and so on and so on. Employees said it lasted most of the day, with hundreds of customers paying for the person behind them.
During the Christmas season, much of the world gives because of what has been given to them. The Starbucks story is just one example. At The Angel Company we often say that "we have been blessed so that we can be a blessing," and we truly believe that. Although this applies to many areas of our life, there is a joy in giving that can not be found in any thing. Today our offices are abuzz with the excitement and anticipation of blessing others. This year, The Angel Company adopted a group home of 13 men who might otherwise not have much of a Christmas. The last couple weeks have been filled with preparation, brainstorming, shopping and wrapping to make it as much of a blessing as possible for these guys. Quite honestly, it has been so touching to hear the thoughtfulness behind the choices staff has made and to see the joy and excitement that it has brought to them. Today is the day we get to make the deliveries and we can hardly wait!
Personally speaking, this is the time of year we celebrate the birth of Christ. It is the one little detail that can get lost in the shuffle of all that we do and completely change the focus of what Christmas should be. For me, it is the ultimate "pay it forward." God loved us so much that He gave His son... literally, part of Himself. It is then, my privilege to give. Whether we give of our resources by paying for another's coffee, providing Christmas to those who may not otherwise have it, or give of ourselves by blessing our loved ones with both our presence and our presents, we give because we have received. We get to give! We have been blessed so that we can be a blessing. However that happens in your life this Christmas, may you understand how big that blessing is, and pay it forward!
May your family be blessed with a warm and bright celebration, full of every good and perfect gift!
Merry Christmas!
Debbie~

My Co-Workers Gift Boxes

I made these boxes for my work party for each of my co-workers, and filled them all with Reeses candies, Kisses, Peppermint Patties, and variations of those...yummy chocolates!

I made a tag using the small tag punch and the circle punches.

WHY is this guy on my blog?? Well, He's my boss for my "other" job that I have and I took these photos (not good, too blurry) ..but they have the boxes on the table. We went to a restaurant called DaVinci's in Long Beach, near the LB Airport. It overlooks the runway on the airport. It has a beautiful atmosphere, and I had a wonderful dish with noodles and garlic sauce with shrimp and scallops and arrugula! It was delish!

Merry Christmas!

Scrapbook in a Box Confetti Kit

Scoring the box is the first step. This makes the base of the box.

Cut the flaps that will hold more photos, and decorate using the decorative papers in the Confetti Simply Scrappin Kit!

Adhere the flaps to the inside of the box

Decorate the pages using the Adhesive Die cuts included in the package. This will make a cool memory box for a special birthday!

Fold up the box and put the triangle flaps inside.

Cut the lid, making it 2" larger than the closed box size. I then scored it 1" on all 4 sides.

I cut the flaps, and then adhered them to the sides of the lid of the box.

Decorate the outside, and using the adhesive die cuts, decorate the outside. I will put something special on top..and then Voila! it will be done!
YOU can make this box full of memories for your special child, teacher, party animal or Christmas memory...for 2007!!!

Christmas Cards...

It isn't raining..at least not yet. and the forecast calls for rain tonight or tomorrow......but since I have been in the mood for stamping, I figured I better get my cards done and sent out..so all 82 or 90 some cards have been stamped, finally addressed, and sent out..and I still have a few left to do....but they are gone...and I did the ones with Tori's photo on them...but this snowflake was for the class this weekend. I cut the cardstock and the papers to fit around the large snowflake and glittered it up!

YES, I did use Diamond glitter! I haven't used it in so long so I decided to go and do it....I am so glad I did! It just made this snowflake sparkle and shine!

I love it!

This is using the Snowflake Spot stamp set, and the words from one of the word sets from Stampin' Up! and I always forget which one I put this in, so I made a copy of the word set before I mounted it so I can put it back..it is laminated too, just in case it goes back in the box dirty,...(SHHHHH...I sometimes forget to clean them..)

I stamped on the acetate this year for my cards, using STAZON WHITE INK and the So Swirly Wheel. I love this wheel and it hides a multitude of boo boos..(do we have those???)... I mounted it on the acetate, and then on the reverse side, I put on larger piece of cardstock of BASIC Gray, and then mounted on that, the greetings that I printed on the computer. For some of the cards, I added a snowflake brad that I bought at Michael's, and silver ribbon that was discontinued, but it made the cards bulky and didn't want to pay extra postage for the cards..so most went out like this one.....I hope the ones with the decorations don't come back to me....

My girl is 15, and simply is growing up too fast....

I can't blink too fast, otherwise she'll be graduating from college....???

Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for looking at my blog!

Acetate Boxes

I made Acetate Boxes, and Love them! MY Customers loved them too. They have almost Endless Possibilities!

YOU can make them almost any size that you have the sheet of acetate for! And they will make cute party favors for Christmas parties, Halloween, Valentines, St. Patricks....get the idea?? Change the colors, and the stamps and Voila! you have instant party favor ..cute and sweeeeeet!

Fill it with sweets or gifts that are small enough like Bath and Body works lotions or gift card..or Brads and glitter from your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator (ME...lol) and you have a nice gift with lots of thought put into it!

You score the acetate in even measures, like 2 1/2" for 4 sections, and make sure you have at least 1/2 to 1" for a flap. Then you make the lid for it, cutting 2 pieces at least 1 1/2" to 2" larger than the square of the box. In this case, the lids are cut 4 1/2" square. I scored, using my scor-pal 1" around each of the edges, and then cut a small triangle cut at the fold to make a flap. Make sure you don't cut too far.

Apply a piece of Sticky tape to each of the flaps, and remove, and attach the flaps. Be sure to cut off any excess. From this photo, you can see there is a small triangle of paper cut from the flap. The triangle is cut from the flap and not the box lid (the long rectangle edge). You want your lid to be squared up.
remove tape and attach flaps and put on the box. If necessary add some sticky tape or Monoadhesive to the box bottom to make sure it is contained.

attach a tag, and decorate the top of the box...
I used the circle punch 1 3/8 and 1 1/4" punch as well as the scallop punch...
Have fun creating your Christmas containers!

Gift Card Enclosures

Well even though I have posted a few times this month, I really haven't done any stamping.....I think I have been in a Scrooge bad mood...BAH HUMBUG!.......not really, but..sounds like I need to see the Christmas spirit to get into the Holidays. I don't have a tree, but that's ok....we'll be ok without one this time...

So, I stamped up a few Gift Card enclosures, to give out for the Holidays and for my class this weekend
Using the Score-Pal, and a 4 1/4 x 11" (1/2 sheet of cardstock) I scored lines at 3" for the flap with the 1/2 circle punched, 3 1/2" for the next section, and 3 1/2" for the section with the stamped layered images, and 1 1/2" for the flap.

The gift card fits in perfectly and using monoadhesive, I folded the 1/2 circle punched flap to make a pocket for the gift card.

Before attaching the cover layered pieces, I layed the ribbon down and held that on with Mono, and then layed the layers over the ribbon.

Peeps in a Jar - photos from Sudsol

Renette Hurley posted this on Suds group:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/390855
((copy and paste---) this is from all different sites! but the pictures are from Sudsol and you can probably see some on SCS (http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/)

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients in the Jar:
Reduce 1 sleeve graham crackers to crumbs and layer all of the crumbs on the bottom of a 1 qt. jar.
Place 8 marshmallow Peeps (whatever the season) standing up, facing out around the inside of the jar pressing them against the glass, but don't squash them.

Carefully, spoon 1/3 cup Brown Sugar into center of the jar to support the Peeps, pressing down to keep it snug.Rest of center and on top of this, pour 1 1/2 cup M & M's (seasonal).

Decorate the lid of the jar however you please...tie curly ribbons around the neck of the jar.

On a side note,,, be sure to copy and give the directions to whomever you give the jar to... so they will know how to bake the Peeps right up!

BAKING DIRECTIONS

Directions: Empty the jar contents into a bowl.

Snip** the Peeps into bits with kitchen sheers or cut up with a knife.
Return the bits of Peeps to the mixture and mix well.
Melt 1/2 cup butter, add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
Pour this over the dry ingredients, mixing well.
Pat into a greased 8 x 8 baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Cool and cut into bars.
**Option: leave the Peeps whole; combine remaining ingredients and place the Peeps on top; then bake as directed.

These 2 jars were done by Stampers on SUDSOL, Samantha Parisi, and another SUDSOL stamper...... Not by me..

but Try some for A NICE LAST MINUTE GIFT...are there any peep snowmen or ...????

Get the ideas going!!!!
Christmas is only a week away!

Scrappin' Halloween Boo-tifully!

This was actuallyINSPIRED by a kit by Pine Cone Press, but after seeing it, and deciding, "I Can Do that!" I made my own...I haven't had a chance to take photos of this until now...

It is so cute and you can put so many photos of your Halloween Cuties! Take lots of photos and load them up in this cute box to give to Grandma or to a special friend! If you're having a Party, you can put those pictures in here too...I am thinking of making one for Christmas too!

All you do, is take a 12x12 sheet of Cardstock, Score it every 4" both ways. Make a Grid of 9 sections. when you get to the corners, you need to score that on the diagonal.

You will then fold it up and add your photos and Voila! You have a cute box! The lid is a square that is 6" with each side scored at 1" around the edge. You cut the corner and fold it down to make the box.

Then the inner sections, you can fold them into 3rds, and add your papers, to make it just oooh so cute!

Don't you want to make one of these?
If you need instructions, you will have to contact me.....otherwise, you might be able to figure it out on your own...
Have fun and be inspired! And have a great Halloween...!!!!

Halloween Hat

This was one of the cutest swaps done... This is a Hat that has the papers done with the Exclusive Designer papers by Stampin' up! This is a small hat covering a Reeses's Candy. She made a cone, and covered the candy, and placed it over the scallop punched circle. As we were admiring the teeny hat, light bulbs in our heads were going off, as we thought of Santa hats, and Leprechaun hats, birthday hats, ...get the picture? Upline Meeting

Sandy Hancock's Meeting

Spaghetti Factory, Duarte, CA

My upline-upline (Sandy Hancock) had a fantastic meeting today, and it was full of great marketing ideas!. Laura Weed shared a PIRATE's TREASURES full of ideas..and she's fun to hear!

We had Demonstrations by Barbara Jackson who did a great job of displaying ideas for the Wrapping Papers! OOH, it is beautiful papers, and you really should check them out! They are only available in the Holiday Mini catalog.

And we had another demonstration by Pat, (who I can't think of her last name..Chastain?) and she had some wonderful samples!

This is a Pringles can decorated, along with some die cut boxes....

she had gift ideas using candles and other items..very cutely displayed!

THEN, there was Richard and Gabby's display of great artistic use of chipboard and other ideas for a Great Holiday Decor!

Wouldn't you love to have these items displayed in your house? well, maybe not all, but it was really cleverly and colorfully done!

Card Making Kits....the ULTIMATE!

These Kits are the ULTIMATE Card Kits! They will be 20% off for a limited time in October!

This is 3 of the kits available, and I purchased them so we can make some cool cards!

The Idea is that you will make a variety of cards, and with this, you can actually take these and just make cards, with very little added!

All you would need is adhesive, some scissors (maybe) and imagination and time....

But...basically, all the pieces are already cut! They each have an idea book which discloses all the pieces and layouts for 3 variations in color and details.

The kit includes (3) Stampin' Spots, and ribbons, brads, accessories, cut cardstock and chipboard, adhesive diecuts and PRE-CUT stamp sets!

Wow! can it get any better?

If you have a serious stamper on your Holiday list....this is a great kit for you to give them a wonderful kit, idea book and beautiful cards almost ready to make and assemble!

Make a date with me and plan to spend some time Stamping on October 6th-8th......
email me and come over to make cards on National Card Making Day.
