Can you see a cute little package of temporary tattoos for a special child?? or maybe...a stick of gum! NAW!! Happy Easter

After going to church, Tori and I got lunch, and proceeded to drive around an empty parking lot. She was practicing her driving..and I think I still have my fingernails! We had done this last year, and I have to say, she's getting better...she's still only 15, but.....I do remember doing this to my dad...I think I was calmer this year though...I don't think I yelled at her...lol

I was looking at You-tube, and there are tons of scrapbooking/cardmaking ideas..

Happiness! How to get more from your stamps

How to get more HAPPINESS from your stamps! I was watching the second game of the NCAA playoffs, UCLA vs Texas A&M and well the Aggies almost pulled it off and beat UCLA, who in the final few minutes got it tied and then pulled ahead....It was a most exciting game and almost a nail biter for UCLA! Well, to get to stamping...I got the blocks from the Block guy and proceeded to mount my stamps..cutting the background apart, and then mounting all of the strips

for this last one, it is thin, so..I cut a small strip from the top of the stamp, to lay across the cut line of words. This will stabilize the stamp so it won't slide off. I hate that it is so thin and there is a risk that I will catch the edge of this added rubber, but, it will stabilze it so it will be used.

all done, finally mounting all of them...they fit in a bigger box, so if you 'sell' this idea or if you're a customer and you cut it apart, make sure you ask your demonstrator for a large box (this is the largest size)

I finally broke down, bought the wood and mounted it....needed to get this background stamp more manageable. I think that this was such a great idea! Thanks for a Smart demonstrator, and her husband, who started this company. You can visit them on their website, and blog The Block Guy.

I hope you will visit their site and maybe you will get more use out of some of your stamps!

Tart...and Tangy

This idea came from Andrea Walford, and I used many of her designs to make my cards...I got her planner, and it is so wonderful to see all the exact measurements, and details to the cards. I probably didn't put as much into mine, but I think they are fun, fast and e-a-s-y! I think that if you are making a cool gift for someone, this is a great idea...

The base is a pre-made card, with envelope, which I had plenty of supplies. These are not available any longer in the catalog, but I had a couple of bulk packages of Glossy notecards, with envelopes. The great thing about using pre-made cards, and envelopes is that you already have the BASE together, you just need to decorate it!

There are many sizes of cards and envelopes in the Catalog and Idea book. Be sure to check them out on the online catalog or in your catalog. They are on page 167.

Gift cards are 3 7/8" x 2 3/4"# 107312 20 cards for 5.95
Note cards are 5" x 3 1/2" # 1073110 20 cards for 5.95
Greeting cards are 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" #107292 20 cards for 6.95
they do include envelopes!

There are also smaller mini cards that are in the right column...so make sure you check those out too..they will match many of our DSP (double sided papers)

ttfn..have a blessed Easter...

ps. Happy Birthday to my brother Curt and to my cousin Natalie...(Natalie is 30 today!)....and I won't tell you how old my brother is ..he's younger than I am....shhhhh!!!!!

Afternoon Tea Carousel Note Purse

To show you that I am not just scoping ideas from just 1 person...I am showing you a purse that I made from the blog of Janine Tinklenberg (Jan Tink)! Love this idea, and ok, I am now loving this paper...I told you in another post, I thought it looked like wall paper...(LOL)...even after doing a card with this paper at Regionals in Anaheim, I still thought it looked like wall paper....

Well, this project really makes you take a better look...and not think of wallpaper! Jan has better photos and a tutorial as to how to make this cute project! You can use it as a scrapbook project, birthday card for a SPECIAL friend who you know will never throw this away! In fact, I am thinking that I will make another one using (non Stampin' UP!) Basketball paper for Tori's basketball teammates who are graduating from Wilson.....Seniors who are Varsity team-mates!
I decided to use a different stamp set than the one Jan used, and since Tori loves horses, and riding...and I love this photo of her....decided to try them in this project together. I love to take photos and since only have 1 child...have to do with the same photos over and over..but you get the idea....

There are Carousel notes tucked inside the envelopes, so you can put more photos or journaling inside!

I did the same thing with this ribbon that Jan did, but you can see that I did this in another project. You mono a smaller ribbon on top of a larger wider ribbon to get a different effect. It is lovely, don't you think?

And to show you that it isn't very easy to get photos...I have distractions...this one loves to be in the photo....he can never understand why I want to photograph some silly piece of colored papers, when I have this lovely fur ball.......lol

for instructions as to how to make this lovely purse...visit Jan's blog!

Happy Good Friday...have a Blessed day!

True Friend Card Box

Inspired by Andrea Walford...I decided to make my own set of cards, and this will be a class I will be teaching.....I love the Bali Breeze papers, the bright colors, the way the stamp sets go along with this designer double sided papers!! As I was sitting watching the NCAA game, UCLA vs Mississippi Valley, I decided to use the time to not just to watch the game, but to stamp and make up my card for a future class!

True friend, is the stamp set that I used, this one was colored in using Pumpkin Pie, Rose Red, and Old Olive markers on the stamp. I love the striped ribbons. They just add the perfect accents!

This one was washed out by my flash (sorry)...but I love the crisp colors against the white

This one was inspired by the card featured on Andrea's site...it was done by Carol Taggart. She's a fantastic stamper. I stamped the image on white cardstock, then I stamped it again on white paper, cut out the image, and masked it, and used the Artichoke ink to dab the outside of the 'medallion' image. It makes the image pop!

This is all the cards along with the envelopes inside the box. It has the boho blossom flower with the large JUMBO Eyelets and celery ribbon coming out to tie the box together. The Box was put together using these dimensions from this entry in my blog.

This is the box with all the cards inside......would this make a nice gift for a hostess for your stamp party..or for a friend that needs a special gift....or for you?

Hope this inspires you, like Andrea's inspired me!

Rub ons...have you tried them?

Have you tried the rub ons? I haven't done anything like this in so long, since I was a kid and we used to rub them on our doll clothes... am I dating myself? Gosh, maybe I am..it was in the 60's, and I used to make my paper dolls.....
Well, first you cut it out, and keep the paper that comes with the rub on together. It will keep it from sticking to places where you DON'T want it to go!
Place it on the object that you want it on. Make sure the object is clean from fingerprints or greasy spots. I used a bit of 'window/glass' cleaner before applying. Make sure it is dry, and clean! Rub it on using the popsicle stick or bone folder

Rub rub rub until the image transfers to the object. You can tell when you look at the plastic and gently lift off the plastic and the image should be sticking to the object. If it isn't. go back and rub on again.

Voila!!! It is done!

Try it on a different object...both mugs are really cool! and I then lightly brushed on a varnish to cover and 'protect' it...It will be ok for light use/washings...nothing too strenuous! :)
have fun....
although this rub on is not available any longer..i did get a few 'extra' ones...

Stampin Up Website...need comments

I have a Stampin' Up! Website
http://www.dianneshiozaki.stampinup.net/

I am posting this again..sorry for the repeat

Did you know that? Have you visited it much? I am pondering the idea to let it go and not keep it up. It has problems with it, only because the program itself is not compatible to aol, and so it hasn't been the easiest thing to keep up. And, as of this month, the cost of it will be going up 5.00 a month. (to 12.95...that translates to 155.00 a year)

Have you visited my blog here much? (that's free)and my step in faith site. I have lots of files for templates, and other ideas shared there, if you're a member. (it is free too, but you need to sign up for email delivery and be a member)

Please give me some feedback as to the Stampin' UP! website. It does have it's "pros" because I can send out newsletters, as well as postcards, and have classes listed, but again, because of the cost and the economy, I am trying to downsize what I spend money on, and try to put it into the classes itself.Giving me feedback, helps me to keep me apprised of what I can do for you as a demonstrator, and also helps me to keep informed of what is current and where I should spend my money on!

Any feedback you give me, please SEND IT TO MY deekwlt@aol.com email address, and don't just reply to the email. You can also leave comments on my blog. This starts as of March 13th.

I will draw a name for a free stamp sets or stamp pad! I have SINCERE SALUTATIONS, Polka dots and paisley, Polka dots and petals and Groovy Guava for the winner of the drawing! What a super deal!Anyone giving me feedback is eligible for this drawing, and you can enter in one time. Drawing will be held March 31st. You can give Feedback up until March 30th.

I will announce the winner on my blog and the websites listed!

Carousel Notes

I was playing with these NEW Carousel NOTEs, and OOH, I love them! At first, I didn't know where to start out, so I copied the one in the Occasions Brochure, and ooh..! It is so cute! I didn't like the new papers since they looked like wallpaper..(ok, I said it outloud and now it is written online!)..but, I have started to warm up to this patterned papers.

It will have to continue to grow on me, but I do love the rub ons!

This last one was my version of the other sample in the Occasions brochure, except I have my "own" asian girl to use as my photo. I used the rub on on a Wild Wasabi circle cut with the Coluzzle. I mounted the photo on the Wild Wasabi, and love the effect of the rub on as a pattern on the paper. I then just got the flower embellishments, so I stacked them togethe and used a FIRE brad to highlight the center. I think this polishes off this very well.
Try the Carousel cards...you'll love the ideas you can come up with!

No Sushi with Wild Wasabi

Well, I said I would be stamping more this weekend, and finally I got them scanned and so now I can post them to my blog...
Since Stampin Up has the special where you can order the pre-cut, pre-scored Wild Wasabi Cardstock, 16 for 3.95, I decided to do my stamp a stack using just this! This is item # 110294. It is so cool to just have to prepare the rest of the cards!

I usually have a problem on where to get started, so, at least, using these cardstocks, I already had 1 step done! And, after seeing all the cute things that other bloggers/stampers have done with A GOOD EGG set, I decided that I HAD TO HAVE THIS SET!

Will this make you want to buy the set? Well if not, then you'll have to check out some of the other bloggers and see their cute things they've done. You will want to have this set if not for Easter, then just for F*U*N!!

Have fun stamping!

New Cards....but.... not Stampin' Up!

I went to the Rubber Stamp Convention today in Carson, CA..and Oh gosh..I bought from another stamp company!

But these were so cute, and I had to ....since my daughter loves to surf and she loves Woodies. I think she thinks they are just the coolest surfer vehicle!

anyways...I saw these stamps from Savvy stamps from Washington. http://savvystamps.com/
I don't usually buy stamps, but the surf board, and the 'catch a wave' was just too cute, and then of course the car with the surfboard!

Colors: Tempting Turquoise, Taken w Teal, Green Galore
Cardstock: Whisper White, Taken with Teal
Rick rack from the 1.00 bin at Michaels'. Inside, I used the Slit punch to make a holder for the gift card enclosed inside, ...and voila! off to a party we go! (My daughter's friend's surprise 16 party...it's a guy, so he'll appreciate that it isn't a fruu fruu card! )

Okay, now back to Stampin' Up...I am working on more cards..and they will be posted soon!

ttfn!

Acrylic Album Gift

Stamped with Baroque Motif in STAZON white ink, I embellished it with the Punched star flower, and glitter, as well as the Flower which was dyed in Ballet blue, and Summer Sun. I really needed more "bling" so I broke down and went to the "M" store, and bought this cute Baby Die cuts (which have teeny pop dots) for .99 and The bling silver dots as well as rhinestones. The pearls are Stampin' Up! accessories in the PRETTIES Kit. They also had these metal tags on clearance, so I added those too!

The stazon really looked good, but I wanted the edges to stand out more, so I sponged the Stazon on the edges of the Acrylic pieces.

Is this too swirly for a boy?

well, I hope that it isn't, but since I had a girl, that's all I really know how to do....
