Presto Smooch Cone Box

This was a fun project and I was inspired by a tutorial on SCS (splitcoaststampers.com)

And...it gave me a chance to work with one of the new colors, Marina Mist! I love how pretty is it! I was sad to lose some of the pretty blues like ballet blue and bordering blue, but this blue is in the family of blues and the grayish color looks great with gold, silver and chocolates! I used Log Cabin and Gold Smooch spray to accent the PRESTO PATTERNS paper....

I got them template from a scrapbook show I went to, and the company is Let's Party Hearty, INC. I've purchased a few templates from them, and they're really easy to use...I love how simple this one is...I might even do a scrapbook page for my doggie......But this owl is just toot sweet for now!

How to Use Stampin' Up!'s New Punches

I love how compact the new punches are! They are all smaller and take up less room even though they are punching the same size punch as before!! So...you're getting more bang for your buck! I have to sell all my 'old' ones, so I can make room for the new style. They did discontinue a couple of the punches in the new catalog, the slit punch, horizontal slot punch and the smaller star punch (just to name a few)....!!

Be sure to watch the video to get some tips on the new punches!!!

Monday August 2 is my birthday...so STAY TUNED for my Birthday Special coming up! I will post something this weekend!!!

It's BACK.....River Rock...Baby!

This was my challenge...to create using River Rock, and combine it with a BABY Theme!

How can you create something cute and soft with River Rock...did I do it?

I loved how using 2 colors, River Rock and white can create a soft girl or boy Baby Theme. I was busy today, creating all the different elements for today's projects! First creating the shoes, and then bouncing off that....to create the card, and party favors!

Kokeshi Pop Up

Andrea and Sophia's final card was to make a princess in the castle card! So....what do you do with that? You can make a vase of flowers, you can make a barn with a silo or some other "tubular" figure.....figure...hmmm....as I was pondering "figure" ....I started thinking "kokeshi".

So I started assembling the parts of my own 'tubular' kokeshi doll. I cut out the mechanism and then used some papers that would simulate a kimono. The Doll also needed a head, so I cut out the largest circle from the circle die, and then the oval is from the Scallop oval frame (the inside of the frame). I layered the oval over the circle and then cut out a rectangle after cutting off the end of the oval to make the hair.
Stamping the flowers in Regal Rose, and then in white was the most exciting part (ok, I am excited about the pop up mechanism too!) ...I like how the white just pops over the rose ink! sigh.....addicted to stamping!
I hope you enjoy the card! It was a fun class, and oh....I hope that if you didn't go to convention, like I didn't go, you found some inspiration from my blog! I am going to Magic Mountain today, so I might not have a card posted tomorrow (tuesday)......we'll see what time I get back and see if I can get a card in before midnight!
Enjoy!
*Smiles!*

Bridal Bliss Pop up!

Another version of a pop up is using the scallop dies to create the platform for the pop up! I did this after Andrea Walford and Sophia Landry's Interactive class. I embossed the front of the card using the Manhattan Flower embossing folder and then used 2 way glue and glitter to enhance the flowers.

Inside the card, I used MORE GLITTER..!!! (gasp!)

This card is sweet but I think I still can add more to make it better...I did this one late at night so I was tired, and just wanted to get the pop up part done......so I might add more to it later....

Baby Baby....

Decorating this bag for a Baby Shower with no new papers to match the gift was hard, so I pulled out some discontinued papers (A WALK in the PARK) which is Kiwi Kiss, Basic Gray, Baja Breeze - just cool colors for a baby boy!
The knitted Blankie is just perfect with the papers, and along with the monkey towel and the froggie rattle toy and the blankie is hopefully something that the mom-to-be and the baby will enjoy! I am friends with the Grandma-to-be, and I only hope she loves it as well!
I even used some of the papers to decorate the envelope to match the bag!
You can also make buttons from shrink plastic!...go to this tutorial to see how to make Shrink Buttons for your knitting!

Two of my Favorite things...joined together....

I love Stamping but I also love my knitting! I have been working on my knitting when I travel, and at my daughter's basketball games.

It is more portable and fun, although, I rarely combine both stamping and knitting...(One time at Leadership, I made and sold scarves because it was so cold!!!) -Salt Lake City was really icy and cold that winter!

But...this is a new stamp set, and love it! I just finished a baby blankie, and so this is perfect for a tag for my blankie!

I think my knitting friends will love this set as well! Don't you think so too?

Another pop up!

This is when you wished you had the right size stamps, or could enlarge or shrink a stamp....or image..but I made this card using what I had...

This is a card class from Andrea Walford's INTERACTIVE CLASS, and Sophia showed us how to make this pop up card. I like that the mechanism is hidden and not visible. It has a nice way to finish off so you don't 'see' how it pops up.

The flowers and grass are fun and tall, so it dwarfs the kitty, but it is almost like the cat is hiding in the tall grass....waiting to be called back home....

I will be working on another one. This one took me a while to figure how I would make this work, maybe the next one will be easier!

Baby Slider Card

Welcome to MONDAY!!!

Another INTERACTIVE card from the class that I took from Andrea Walford and Sohpia Landry. They used a stamp set that I don't have and I needed to make a baby card for shower this weekend. So...I pulled out the new set called Baby Bundle and A Word for you.

I love how simple they made this pop up! The mechanism is really smooth for this pop up card, and I am really excited about the other ways I can use this mechanism for other pop up cards.....so...stay tuned for more cards. I hope to have more cards posted so that you will see them through the whole week!!! Have a great day!!!

Summer is here and the colors are so bright!
The craft stores are filled with watering cans which I just couldn't resist taking a photo of!

This is one of my favorite sets...bright and happy, and cool tote to boot! I added the little tag on the bag (inspired by my coach bag!)...

Set of 5 cards -bright and cheery!

Swirling around your birthday!

I'm having fun with Andrea Walfords INTERACTIVE CARD class!

This was inspired by Sohpia Landrys' card!

Gotta try making one of these....it is so easy!

It will probably be in my next pop up/interactive card class!!!

Three Tier Birthday Cake

I love Interactive CARDS! They are so much fun to give and I love to receive them....I don't get any for myself, but I do try to show YOU how to make them! This one is inspired by the book Interactive Cards by Annie's Attic. Alice Golden designed the card and has 'basic' instructions (although they are not explicit enough to really know how to make them) I still have some fine tuning to make to this card, but the basic mechanism is here!

As you pull the top scallop, this card telescopes to reveal a hidden layer. Now...If you really want to surprise your recipient, you can place a gift card on the middle layer! (hint hint..wink wink!)

Be sure to check out Annie's Attic and this interactive book! I will have more interactive cards that I am making in Andrea Walford's class.

Swirling Forever Friends

Andrea and Sophia have done it again! Inspired another card that is so much fun to do! It is a new concept on a card that I have done before! I love using the clear sheet of acetate, and also the Table Setting die. This die has different shapes, but the one that has the swirl is the one you want to use. Of course, if you don't have the die, you can create one yourself, but using the die really makes it easier!

The Billboard Alphabet also makes this easy and quick! and I love the bling with the Jewels Basic Rhinestones to the center of the hand cut flowers!

Despicable!

I don't know if you pay any attention to movie commericals but this one was one that I wasn't going to see because it is animated. I just felt that I will leave the 'cartoons' to the little kids. ....Having an older "kid", I don't have the patience any more for little kids crying or talking during movies.

I actually made this before we saw the movie, but I have to send this to a friend, because I forgot to send her a birthday card!!!! So, it is Despicable ME!

BUT...these little MINIONS....they are too cute!
GO see the mOOvie...it is tOO cute!
Age has no place...this movie is good for any age!

Happy thoughts....happy days

Happy thoughts make Happy days

This card is summer days and happy thoughts! What a sweet card to send to a friend!

This Hostess set is just full of sweet images and thoughts that creates a perfect blend! I love how the bold images of the leaves and the apple makes creating a quickie card easy!

(especially for a friend who doesn't like to color in!) Bold images make it easy to create cards in a flash!

I added the Modern Label punch and the Word Window punch to add another element to the card. The 'friend' stamp is from Tiny Tags set, and it is complemented by the olive brad.....brings more color from the chocolate chip cardstock!

Book Share - Interactive Cards

Yesterday was a day of deliveries...and I got my new stamps...and supplies, and.....a few books!

I love interactive cards....well, cards that move, pop up, and do all sorts of things! I found this book on Amazon.com ...and let me tell you, I love this book! INTERACTIVE CARDS by Tanya Fox (Annie's Attic/Paper crafts)

Very simple mechanisms but very effective as well. I also was very happy to find that several of the cards were done by a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Jan Tink.

She has great ideas, for card, but I love her instructions too! It is very clear to figure out!

I have been collecting a few more interactive or movement cards so that I can do another class, and give you some fresh ideas...so some of the will probably be inspired by this book and another one that I found!!!

Storing the New STAMPs are so much easier with the Clear Mount Stamp sets. I found this tray at the Container store and it holds DVD's...so you can see that any DVD holder will work for this type of STAMPs!!! Much better than the old way! So....new is....BETTER!

I ordered the owl punch and the scallop envelop punch...Jewel Pearls and Rhinestones, New Ink colors (well, sort of new), New Designer paper and 2 Simply Scrappin Kits!

I love how they are so compact! Now that I am not ordering the wood mounted sets, I find that they are lighter, smaller boxes and compact!!!
