Candy Box

I die-cided that if I am going to purchase these dies, I need to USE them...so I pulled out the

112967 Bitty Box and Envelope Die and decided to create a fun little cute gift to give my students!

You know, the funny thing is that I am posting this a day early for those attending the class, and they don't check my blog! I'm not sure how many do check it out, but since I haven't been posting daily like I used to, they probably don't check it more than 1 time a week...if that!

So, you'll get the sneak peek at what gift they'll get!

I use Chocolate chip cardstock only because the candy inside is rich dark chocolate with a raspberry filling by Ghiradelli. YUM!

I accented it with the pink from 122342 Beyond the Garden Designer paper. It will be on "sale" next month, so stay tuned for all the designer papers will be on a special sale price!!! Of course, you have to purchase more than 1!!!

Girls' Night Out!

Tonight is my summer Girls' Night Out Stampin night....and I made some fun projects! I was thinking at first to do something different using different papers, but as I got to thinking, I don't have a lot of current papers, and wanted to use the Paisley Print papers that I have already! I love these blue daisy flowers..and so I combined them with the NEW Pocket Die and the Matchbox die.

The matchbox holds 4 Nugget candies to match the papers...

The mini Composition book was purchased at the office supply store for around 1.00 (for 2) and I covered it. The flowers were dyed using Marina Mist and Lucky Limeade...fun colors!

The cute little pocket die and notecard uses the same colors and textures. I love how cute all these projects just 'tie' together...!

Have a Girls Night Out stamping...

All these projects were free, with dinner if you placed an order tonight!

Making your Wood Mounts into...Clear Mount Stamps

I am starting to LOVE my clear mount stamps..well, I have to say, I was a die hard wood mount lover...

sigh...it is hard to say, that I am straying from my love, but it does take up less space to get rid of the wood....So, I am giving up wood mounted stamps!

Of course, I can't totally give them up yet. I have to see what do to about the vinyl part of the mount, but I think I can find some clear vinyl that I can print on, then, I can figure out how to mount that on the tacky side.

To make your wood mount stamp into a Clear Mount stamp:

Pull apart the rubber from the foam that it comes with.

After you get it separated, throw away (if you find another use for it, let me know!)

Place the rubber on the STICKY side of the foam mount. The other side will be smooth/sticky. (your fingers won't stick to it)

Trim the sticky part of the foam away from the rubber stamp. Be sure to not undercut

Should look something like this!

NOW...you can use your stamp with the clear mount. I am saving my sticker sheet just in case I get printable vinyl and make my own index for this stamp! :)

Stampin' UP! has foam that you can convert your wood mounted stamps to CLEAR mount stamps!!
124236- $10.95- 2 Sheets

Get Well....

My friend just had knee surgery and so I sent her a card...even though she's still in the hospital, I think she'll be home soon, so she'll have this card waiting for her...! I just got the set with the birds....

I LOVE IT! It is so cute!

I was thinking that she's all laid up in the hospital like the birdie in the cage... But it looks cheery and fun! The designer paper is from the Just ADD Cake, and the stamps are from Aviary....

adding bling to the cage, and ribbons too! :)

Celebrate Today!

Today's card is a simple cute quickie card! I say that only because there is very little stamping. Only punching and die cuts.

I cut the whisper white cardstock using my Big Shot scallop circle, and it was a 6x6 card folded in 1/2 and the placed on the edge so that the fold would not be cut. I sponged the edges using Rose Red.

The ice cream cone is made with the CUPCAKE PUNCH (top only) and the layered over another punched cupcake...and then, using the NEW Pennant Punch, I cut the cone and embossed it with texture. I sponged a little around the edges of the cone

I love these two word stamps!!! I think they would make anyone happy receiving this! Even if it just said to CELEBRATE Today! The ribbons are the new Pretty in Pink scallop edge polka dotted ribbon, and the rose seam binding ribbon..both very pretty and easy to tie through punched holes on the fold! I also added a little glitter on the ice cream so it looks like it is ready to EAT!

Summer Tag

Summer is here, and the nice warm weather is here...

I love the early evenings in the summer and the times we can spend out later....

It sure is a great time in Southern California! We have the perfect weather!

This tag was created using the Pennant punch, the boho blossom punch, and the 3/4" circle punch, along with the 1/2 circle punch.

The letters were stamped using the perfect alphabet stamp set. I embossed the J-O-Y using vanilla craft ink and white embossing powder..(otherwise, it didn't show up much on the early espresso cardstock).

The flowers were randomly punched out of scrap cardstock and then layered on the tag

Tags stand alone!

I was inspired.... by Tim Holtz's tags that he had at the Rubber Stamp convention, in Carson, CA...and so I decided to come up with some fun 3d Tags that stand!

I love how much fun they are, and how they can be a project all by itself...not sure if you want to send them out but they can be a cute decoration for a tree, or mantle!

Glimmery Christmas Stamp a Stack in July!

Oh Come Let us Adore Him..

I saw this stamp set, and never got it last year, but saw so much that has been done with this stamp that I had to get it for this year...

I love the silhouette look and so I created a background by stamping it on Bashful Blue cardstock, and then spritzing with Smooch spray in Blue (I got it at CHA) and also in Silver. The effects don't show up much in the photo, I know this looks splotchy but it is really shimmery and softer than in the photo. I have them mounted on these cool wire frames too, so when you come to my Stamp A Stack, you will see them CLEARLY! I have cards mounted on both sides so you can really see the cards! Be sure to check out my calendar of classes!

Snow Much Fun!

This was one of our PRE-order stamp sets, and I created a window card, using {nesties}. I love that they layer and you can create a window. I am hoping that Stampin' Up will come up with more dies that can do things like this! Punches don't reach to the center very well.... :)

I colored using Watercolor Pencils and a blender tip and using a brownish-rust color to antique the snowmen! Aren't they cute!

And..of course bling! (glitter brads)

Rubber Stamp Convention, Carson, CA

This weekend, I was stamping and playing with friends.... and went to play at the Rubber Stamp Convention in Carson, CA with my friend Debbie and we saw Tim Holtz! HE is so CREaTivE! It is just amazing to spend time watching him create his magic!

I love the eclectic spirit of his style and it is so fun just to see what he does. I even got to share an idea with him...

Someone in the 'gallery' of ladies that were watching him asked about embossing folders and how you can emboss the sides without embossing the centers. I told her (and Tim) that you CAN do that....(www.pattystamps.com) and referred him to Patty's blog!

I know he's going to do something FANTASTIC with it, so be sure to stay tuned!

I was having a blast seeing the creative ideas shared in the book at Stampers Anonymous!

These are tags....that stand up! ...stay tuned to see a few more things!

Spider mums & Pocketful of Posies

close up of the Pocketful of Posies card included in the little notebox cards from yesterday! I love how pretty these flowers are. The spider mums are one of my favorites! I used markers to color in the blooms, blending the colors together to give it variation....

This paper is perfect for this stamp set, since one of the papers has the spider mum on it! I used versamark to do a background pattern on the Perfect Plum cardstock combined with Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz.

Friends Never Fade

A pocketful of posies....not sure why they call this paper that name but it has a ethereal look with some lovely prints. I like the geometric look along with the romance of flowers and the birds...

This was my inspiration to make a box that holds some cute little notes

I grouped it with Friends Never Fade, and it coordinates so nicely with the paper! You can also use it with other floral sets as well, and not limited to just the florals!

Just add Cake!

I have been using the M-S scoring board, and although I love how it has the lines close together, I miss my other scor- board that had a ridge on the right side as well as the left. It made it easier to scor your cardstock regardless if you're left or right. I also miss the little triangle marks on the top and the dots so that you can make a perfect tri-fold card, or gate fold card without THINKING!.....But this M-S scor board is a nice...if you don't have the other one.

This card, is another card adapted from Mary Fish's site but I changed the colors, and added designer paper...I used Delightful Daffodil, Poppy Parade, and Peach Parfait! What a cute bright color combination, and it goes well with Just Add Cake Designer Paper.

The stripe ribbon also sets off the design of the stripes, and the scallop border around the paper also frames it!

{ART}ichokes?

{Art}ichokes can be art-tistic! I wasn't impressed with this set at first, but I saw some samples on Mary Fish's blog and love love love them now! I like how you can make them "oooh la la!" by only using black ink! no coloring!

Then setting them off with a pinking hearts punch border, and on Crumb Cake cardstock, it is just simple artistic artichokes!

(try to say that fast!)
