Awash with Flowers

I haven't stamped awhile..so I thought I better start otherwise, I think you would be afraid I had completely stopped! I went to a scrapbook show this weekend and had fun looking at all the scrapbook stuff, but mostly did some observing. (ya believe that? Wink!)

I love all the new colors and stuff and accessories! I stamped this in the black ink and then watercolored it using (copics) but also tried to stick with using Stampin' UP! colors as well. The card is Pink Pirouette, and certainly celery. I used the pinking heart punch

This is a A6 size card, a sympathy card (I have had a lot of deaths and illnesses lately!) The butterfly was made using one of the flower stamps in the Awash set, I think it actually is a blossom but I was turning it sideways, and it looked like a butterfly to me, so I drew the body and the antennae.....Punched it out using the 3/4 punch and then mounting it on a 1" circle punch of certainly celery.

Medallion Medley Simply Sent Card Kit

In the Spring Occasion Mini catalog, there is a SIMPLY SENT card kit medley featuring the Medallion design. I love how simple this is, and for my friend Jean's birthday, I decided to purchase this kit. I stamped each of the little enclosed labels, leaving 2 blank just in case she wants something else. and then I created a little folder.

The folder needed something to cover the front, and since the Medallion stamp is only in 1 size, I created a background paper to match the cover of the cards using MY DIGITAL STUDIO!

I duplicated the images, and the colors, Baja Breeze, Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive and printed it on Very Vanilla Cardstock.

I then cut the sheet so that it would cover the folder, and added a ribbon to tie the folder.

I used the retired Rich Razzleberry polka dotted ribbon which matched perfectly, and then from the left over PRINTED cardstock, I created my own tag.

You can see how the Simply Sent Card kit can be made into a fantastic gift....I know Jean will like it, she rarely has time to stamp, let alone buy cards...she's always asking me for cards... It is nice to accomodate her in such a fun way!

To purchase the Medallion Medley Simply Sent Card kit, click on the link and it will direct you to my website to order!

Having a few Cup Cakes -Birthday Card

I have been having fun with the Create a Cupcake Stamp set, and the Cupcake punch! It is fun to make cute (and calorie-free) Cupcakes!

This is a variation on the stepper card, and I got the instructions from my upline-upline, Sandy Hancock <--click!!!

She did a similar card using the cupcakes but I used the (retired) Designer paper from the Sweet Pea stack. I love those springy colors. This is just a prototype card for my Cupcake class, (which I will use current papers. I just needed to come up with a few ideas to make my own variation of the card! So I don't waste current designer paper, I use retired papers to save my papers!)

THIS IS MY #901 POSTING!!
whoo hooo!!!

Ice Cream Parlor SAB Scrappin Page

I love these bright colors and how cheery they are! Using the colors from the papers included I pulled out Pacific Point, Baja breeze, Delightful Daffoldil, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Melon Mambo and Pretty in Pink to create this fun fun page!

I have photos of my daughter from various things that we've done that I can create fun pages.... either digitally like in MDS or, by creating one using the kit that is FREE with any 50.00 purchase from Sale a Bration!
Some of the buttons are pulled out from retired button combinations but they still go together with the color schemes that are current! Isn't this a fun page to have in your scrapbook? I used the layout that was in the SAB Catalog with the little baby in the pool, and pulled out my own color combination. The Pacific point looked better with this photo than the Melon Mambo AND... I accented more GREEN since that's my daughter's favorite color!

Playdate MDS

I love using MDS! It sure makes scrapbooking so easy! NO cutting or mistakes...
If I don't like it, I can change the photo or colors....
Playdate is a fun design. The colors are happy and bright! You don't have to be a kid to use this designer kit, and if I wanted to scrapbook this using actual paper and adhesive die cuts, I can but look how easy this was on MDS!
My daughter went to the park with her friends during the last week of school, and they played around on the jungle gym. I love the dynamics of this photo and her smile....and the colors just fit using the Playdate kit!

What does Love LOOK like?

Love looks like my neighbors, John and Carol. They've been together for over 40 years, on their second marriage, and through thick and thin.

Both are the sweetest neighbors, who are sweet on each other. Even though they are both having their problems seeing them take a walk down the block together, is such a joy.

I'm not posting a card today, because I wanted to just post their photo! I did create this in MY DIGITAL STUDIO...very simply and quick! I will be printing this off and giving it to my neighbors today!
Happy Valentine's DAY!

Coffee anyone?

I am not a coffee drinker. I don't drink a lot of coffee for the morning to wake up or tea either for that matter....(love ice tea and I do have an ice tea maker too!) But..I have these little Keurig cups that you load into the machine which will make 1 perfect cup of coffee or tea (or hot cocoa!)

I was inspired by Andrea Walford and her sister Sophia Landry's project on their website and decided to try to do something with these little coffee cups! I think I might do something bigger so it will hold more than just 4 cups, but this is what I have done so far.
I decorated the top with papers from the Springtime Vintage DSP and a scallop circle cut from Very Vanilla that was embossed with the dots. The box was constructed from chocolate chip cardstock, and the flowers were done using the Table Setting die in Marina Mist. The 'silk' leaves were purchased from the craft store and the pearls and rhinestones were from the adhesive jewels in the catalog. (they looked like it needed some dew drops!) The ribbon is Marina Mist grosgrain ribbon, inserted in the center of a Jumbo eyelet.

What a lovely Mother's Day gift or co-workers gift! Each of the cups are divided so it won't rattle around too much, and although it isn't fragile, I thought it made it look more special having dividers!

Kimono kids Lantern

It is sunny and nice here in Southern California and so I am thinking of SPRING and I have been trying to be busy working (my other job) and getting ready to file my taxes, so stamping has been on a back burner just these last few days....(apologies!! )

I was thinking of a Japanese lantern with this set! I love this set! Kimono Kids has a special place in my heart! <3

I used to dress up when I was a little girl in my kimono and every year for summer would dance in the Japanese festivals. My daughter danced in a few of them and always loved getting dressed up and of course, putting make up on!!!

Spring is coming soon, and Ohinamatsuri is a big celebration in Japan. Girls day is March 3rd, and celebrated with girls in their beautiful colorful Kimonos and cherry blossoms (sakura).

I'm a little early in celebrating Ohinamatsuri but you can get a taste of a Japanese celebration!

The Lantern was created using whisper white cardstock creased and folded. Then run through a crimpter. I added the black to the top and bottom and then punched out the flowers (used the retired trio flowers punch) I also used the crop a dile to punch the holes in the flowers to add the string.

Adding the Kimono girl to the lantern using dimensionals.

Superbowl Sunday!

Today was my second Annual Superbowl Stampin' and the 2 cards we made today are the friend tag card and the Beautiful scallop card!
This was a BLING class and each person made 4 card of each one...very time consuming but it had lots of details!
I also had a trivia game this time and Valerie won a prize for answering (and guessing) 7 out of 10 questions! NOT BAD, HUH!!!!
It is interesting that the FIRST Superbowl game was played at the LOS Angeles Coliseum 45 years ago......I'm sure almost any jock guy probably knows that already but I am a girly girl and I had no idea.....

Anyways....we had a fun time and had the game on....we really didn't care who won, but more interested in the commericals!
Hope you had fun, and Congratulations Packers!
I did wear my cheese-head!

Our First Shoebox Swap!

I am hosting my FIRST Shoebox Swap! I decided to start getting people to STAMP...and also help create an event that hopefully would encourage others to dig into their creative juices and start to get them to stamp, and create!

I was at a gift shop today, and I saw a card that said "Growing up is not learning to be someone, it is learning to create yourself into someone".

I like that. We can create ourselves to do anything we want to do...we need to continue to learn and to grow....

This is my card for my Shoebox swap. All the pieces are created using my BIG SHOT, and Stampin' Up! Dies and stamps, Embossing folders and ribbons.

Our first Shoebox swap is tonight, Friday, Feb 4 at 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm....

It is FREE! You just have to bring a box of the supplies, sample of your project, and YOU! Bring your own adhesive for you to use. You can use my other supplies like cutters but try to have everything else prepared to minimize the cutting time for everyone....

Bling Bling Bling!

Ricochet Rabbit was one of my favorite cartoons, growing up. It was about a fast rabbit sheriff who would go after the bad guys....and he would "power" up by going "Bing bing bing!!!!" So, the title of this posting reminded me of Ricochet Rabbit. Of course, as an adult and after graduating from college, I got a dwarf rabbit. He wasn't white but dark gray with white under and around his eyes..and I named him Ricochet Rabbit...he (and I found out later that it was a 'she')....was the sweetest bunny, and would sit on my shoulders when I would drive around, and also walk into stores.

ANYWAYS...

This is about BLING! MY Stamp a Stack on Superbowl Sunday is all about BLING! I am hosting a SAS using the Rhinestone BLING that we have in the catalog and so all the cards we're doing has BLING!

The Bling is included in the price of the Class, and you'll make 8 cards in this SAS......

Gift Box Decor

I love making boxes, and using my Sizzix BIG SHOT and Stampin' Up! dies to make the boxes spring out from ordinary, to ...EXTRA ordinary!
I had a bottle of Olive Oil that I was giving to a friend for her birthday, and it certainly needed a special package to set it off! I scored a 12x12 sheet of cardstock in Bliss Blue to make this tall box.

I scored it at 1", 3", 5", 7" and cut off at 9". Then, I scored it at 2" at the bottom. The Olive Oil fit perfectly in the box. I used the Daisy Sizzlet, Leafy Sizzlet and the Swirl Sizzlet to decorate the Box-bag. Sponging the Daisy with Classic ink in Marina Mist, and River Rock.

CHA 2011

One of the make and takes we did at CHA....using copics, gamsol and prismacolor pencils! Valerie and I had fun meeting (just accidentally) at the Bella booth!

I have been at CHA for the last 4
days, and although I am so exhausted, I had a fun time! It was good to see all the new and exciting things that is coming up in the crafting world! I hope that I can translate all I saw and put them into what I show you on my blog!

I love all the new ways they showed how to do stitching and zippers, and scrapbooks, and dimensional additions...it was fun to play with all the new products! The freebies that they gave away was well worth the money to attend! I took a couple of classes as well, and had a blast in each of them!

I also renewed a friendship! I met a friend that I knew in high school, who works for DESIGN MASTER, which is a nice spray for silk flowers, and also you can use them on gift boxes. I will try to show you some samples of using that product as well. Design Masters only had a small booth, but I know Brad would love for me to show more of what can be done with Design Master sprays!!!
