Petal Pizzazz! Spring is Blossoming

I can't remember who's site I got this card from, but I did print it out..and that's where I got my inspiration from! I used Marine Mist cardstock, and scored it at 2 1/8" on both ends. Then added Designer paper from the Paisley Petals (which will be available April 1st!). Using the Petal Pizzazz stamp set, I cut out the flowers stamped in Peach Parfait, and Marine Mist...added a phrase from Sincere Salutations, and Voila!

Springtime Wishes

sending.....Springtime Wishes

quickie card that I sent off to a couple of people to wish them a happy Spring! I used the new (coming up) Designer paper PAISLEY PETALS and the Springtime wishes stamp set. I covered the eggs in the basket using the small flower punch (trio) and using a brad to attach it. You don't have to use this just for Easter...it can be for a cute spring card!

Sending Thanks to the troops!!!

Help!!! Make some cards to send to a 10 year old boy who wants to send THANK YOU Cards to soldiers! CLICK!

"Boy making cards for 180,000 troops
Ten-year-old Stephen Goodman, a fifth-grader in Surprise, Arizona, wants to send a thank you card next to military personnel. Not to one platoon, or to just one division, but to every actively deployed service member in the U.S. military. Stephen said he thought of the idea while spending the summer with his grandparents in Phoenix. “My grandpa went to Vietnam and didn’t get any cards, and he felt forgotten,”

"You have from now until July 1st to help Stephen reach his goal, help say "thank you" to our brave military personnel who are deployed overseas, .......

I saw this request on Karen Burniston's blog and thought what a great idea!!! You can send them to Stephen himself by clicking on the "CLICK" here or up above.

I'm going to try to make at least 10. WHAT WILL YOU DO???? If you want to participate, email me and let me know, and I can send them to him in a big envelope or box....Let me know by April 6th. You don't have to give me the cards until the end of April but I would like to know how many to expect!!!! I would like to get them to him as soon as possible, even though the deadline is in July....

I love to help in the community in any way....it sure makes me realize that my troubles are nothing compared to others, and that God touches my life in so many ways, that I can't help but feel blessed to pass along something to help others feel good too.

Details:

A2 is the preferred card size. That is half of a piece of 8.5 x 11 cardstock (Bazzill, of course!) cut into a 4.25″ x 5.5″ strip and folded.
It doesn’t have to be red, white and blue… it can be anything your heart desires as long as it is made with love!
Do not use glitter! Be careful the card does not become too bulky.
If you can send envelopes along with your cards, that would be appreciated. If not, Xpedx is going to be donating 20,000 envelopes to fill in the gaps.
Yes, sign it. Imagine Stephen going back to sign 180,000 cards! We need to save his hand so he can play sports in his free time.
Download the pdf entry form from the Creative Escape website, fill it in, and send one copy with every five cards. All the cards can be mailed together, but we will be using your paperwork to pull the name of the winner. You can fill it in once and make photocopies, if you’d like. For example, if you send 50 cards, include 10 entry forms.
Send as many cards as you would like!

Window card

I had something like this on my mind...to create a large window and then hang the die cut images from the edges of the window....

I used a nesties die to create my window and then the large leafy did and the BIRD punch to create my images...The bird was sponged, and also had a little yellow added by punching a teeny little piece of cardstock to create the beak.

adding a small strip of designer paper, and the BIRTHDAY wishes inside....

Papercrafting fun- Teeny Tote

I found a cute little book of papercrafting at Joanns. I mean, it is a teeny little book but it was packed with lots of ideas...the only thing bad, was that it really didn't have very good instructions!
I am a little disappointed in that the woman who wrote the book had instructions but no photos as to how she did several of the projects.
This is one that I could figure out how to do, although she did have a typo in the measurements...so after I figured out the errors..(and wasted cardstock)
I created my version of her tote...using all Stampin' Up! cardstock...I did cheat and added a non su die (the leafy leaves, which is slightly bigger than our leafy die, but close enough that it can be done with our die - especially since I cut the leaves apart).
Now, this is a teeny little bag, but I think after creating this one, I can make a larger one.....!!!

Thumping fun on the weekend....

It has been raining almost the whole weekend, and although, I love the rain...it can be depressing too...BUT, when you have a fun activity that you can do inside, like STAMPING!, then you can wile away the hours by being creative!

I ws playing with the new Strength and Hope set, and I saw a card done by Mary Brown that she made using the butterfly and thumping!

Makes me feel like I'm channeling Bugs Bunny or something when I saw Thumping!

But, to create the colorful wings, you ink up the stamp (So Saffron) and then using More Mustard, Real Red, and Black, I colored the stamp over the So Saffron, by using the side of the marker on the rubber....and then, I stamped it, cut it out and used it on my card.....

See, how creative you can be using different techniques on a rainy weekend??

Strength and Hope

Soft and sweet are the colors in this card. I used Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo along with Very Vanilla. The pearl accents and the small trio of brad accents, and the Curvy Label make this a card that can be sent to a friend going through some difficult times....

St. Patty's Day -Celebrate!

Top' o the morning!
Today's card is a simple card that I saw on my upline/upline, Sandy Hancock's site...
I also saw a few other versions, and thought that since I don't have any St. Patrick's Day stamps (other than teeny tiny verses)....I decided to make a shamrock using the small heart punch!
I made a coffee cup, from reg size cardstock, and then added designer paper, and then corrugated Crumb cake cardstock, to make the sleeve.
simple and easy!
GOOD LUCK today! Much happiness!

Mini Album -fold out

This is a card, which can also be a mini album! I am still working on it, and LOVE the ICE CREAM PARLOR Designer paper from the Sale A Bration! I'm taking advantage of the lovely colors to create a fun album that was inspired by one of my many books that I have in "my library". This one is going to be a pop up album, so as I get them completed, I will be able to post more photos from this album.
I used the flower die from the Spring Mini, called Fun Flowers. I folded them after embossing them using the texture plates and sponging the edges
This week has been a very tumultuous week. Yesterday in Japan, there was a huge earthquake. It was an 8.9 and caused a Tsunami which caused a lot of devastation and then the waves traveled across the ocean and caused damage to the California coast. It was amazing to see the force of nature to cause so much damage. Although we didn't have the destruction that Japan had, it nevertheless was horrifying to watch the way the water tossed buildings, trucks, and trains like they were nothing.
I know it is going to be a long time before those areas recover. And then to top it off, a nuclear emergency with 2 nuclear power plants in Japan, as they can't get the system to cool off.
I'm amazed at how much we were able to see what was going on over there. I know that in CA, we're never quite ready for the earthquakes, but we need to prepare, and get ready for something like this. I'm only about 15 minutes from the ocean, and if it happened to Japan, then the area I live in, would be damaged by the water as well. We're at a higher elevation, but it still would be some danger......

I scream you scream!

So, this weekend, I was creating...and I was happily playing and stamping this weekend, and taking off wall paper, and doing house work and stamping, and watching dvd's .......It felt great to have a weekend that I didn't have to go anywhere...well, let's just say, I also had help with not going anywhere! I had my car in the shop, so I was home bound anyways!

I decided a few months ago, to start removing wall paper. But it is hard work and it does get tiring to scrape and wipe and scrape and toss out icky sticky wall paper...so.....

I decided to take my time with this and slowly remove the wall paper. (it is going slowly).

I found this blog from another demo. Laura Denison (followthepapertrail.blogspot.com) has a wonderful plethera of scrapbook, altered art and cards on her blog! I decided to take one of her Youtube demo's and make one of her cards myself! This is all done with a #10 (business envelope). I used Prisma color pencils and papers by Stampin' Up! The colors were inspired by the SAB Ice Cream Parlor Papers! Are they not the cutest and brightest?? Lots of areas to add photos or sentiments for a special birthday! :)
Have fun today! I sure did!

ok, so what else can I say? I wasn't too sure what I thought of this cupcake die, but after playing around with it, I have decided that it is really cute!
I added Designer paper from the Springtime Vintage and also used a strip of fabric, striped ribbon and assorted other ribbons and buttons to create these cute zero calorie, fat and no nonsense CUPCAKES!!!
They are so easy to assemble and we're going to make them in my cupcake class! What a great way to use the Springtime Vintage Designer paper and fabric! They are all coordinating!

May all your wishes....

Today is a friend's birthday, and although she's receiving this card in the mail, I thought I would put it up even though all of it isn't SU. I did use Stampin' Up for the greetings because of course, Stampin' Up! has a great selection of greetings! (Love them!)

I added a close up because I used a glitter to highlight the strawberry..and the drops on the mouse, to look like he had all the strawberry juice all over his plump tummy!

Girls Day in Japan

To celebrate the spring, in Japan, they have a special holiday for girls. Mostly the young girls dress up in Kimonos and celebrate the spring time with the cherry blossoms. It is called Ohinamatsuri. I have a collection of dolls that were given to me when I was younger by my grandmother, and my mom used to put them up for March 3rd. I in turn did the same thing for my own daughter!

So, I am celebrating Hinamatsuri with this card using the Kimono kids, and hope you all have a HAPPY SPRING! and GIRLS day where-ever you are!
