Wedding Ring Card

I love Wedding Ring quilts, but I have only made a few rings for a mini quilt...yes, I used to quilt. I find that papercrafting is more gratifying since it is faster than piecing and sewing...but the rewards for a handmade quilt is amazing. I know..

so, since I haven't finished my quilt, this is my paper wedding ring quilt. I used the lattice die and the beautiful designer papers that Stampin' Up carries, and made this wedding ring card.

simple, fast and fun! And...I can make it in any color I want!

Celebrate your birthday (patriotic!)

BIRTHDAYS are always fun, but to celebrate your birthday in July is always an 'explosive' occasion! (hee hee!) I decided to pull out my Large star punch (IT is RETIRING! - and the small one retired last year)...I am going to miss the star punch...so if it is something you want, be sure to get it NOW! I tied the string around the pacific point cardstock and stamped the happy Birthday on whisper white!

The inside has a surprise pop up! I made the party banner using the pennant punch, which coordinates with this party set! (it is a current set)...the punch works perfectly! I added a inside pop up which says "happy birthday"..and the balloons are popped up with dimensionals.

Now of course, you can use this as a invitation to a 4th of July party or maybe your party!

Hope

Yesterday was my Garage Sale Clearance, and Open House...

I had tables of clearance, and retired items for sale (and darn..!!! I didn't take any photos!!!) Well, we had about 14 plus people there, and stamped 2 cards. This was one of the cards we made. They got to use the new lace punch!

It is a little hard to punch but the effect is LOVELY! I love how pretty it is!

The H (for Hope) is punched out using the new Postage stamp punch and then it is framed by the Scallop square punch. I like how the 2 of them coordinate!

The paper is from the paisly petals Designer Papers and versamark the butterflies on the Bashful Blue cardstock...
****************************

I'm glad it was a nice beautiful day, and the canopy over the tables worked out great!

Bareback....

So, the other day, I shared with you, the picture of my daughter working on her projects. She was bored because just getting out of school and having a whole week to adjust to being at home and then starting her summer job working at the park in Long Beach. Long Beach has a great park recreation system for kids, and so being paid to play with kids is good for my daughter who likes to be active!

The horses were from a retired set {Bareback}and of course she used Baroque Motif. (our favorite set!) She added newsprint paper and stamped on that, burned the edges of the papers..and aged this set using craft ink.

LOVE IT!

Creatively challenged....HA!

My daughter considers herself crafting challenged. Well, she thinks she is. She also tells me she hates doing crafts, but that's not exactly true either. You know you have something special when you can sit down and put something together, and have it come out really amazing. That's what I think my daughter has in her....

Everyone can be creative!

She met and made friends this last year in College, and it was a great experience. So much so, that even after coming home from college, she's been talking and chatting and skype'ing with her friends almost every day! So, they each decided they were going to make something for each other....

Tori decided on doing a box for their things. So, for one girl, she decopaged a box with horses on it (I will show you that later..) This one, the girl loves HARRY POTTER...so she's making a box that has a magical feel to it. She was considering doing HP on it but this is so much more prettier! I love that the colors are fun and pretty. She painted the outside an eggplant color and then inside a beautiful shade of rosey pink. Then stamped using the Baroque Motif and Medallion stamps, and it looks just beautiful! The paints were Ceramcoat from the craft store, and the ink was our Stampin' Up Craft ink in vanilla, and eggplant envy.

Looks lovely, don't you think?

Thanks ...BIG TIME!

Simple thanks, with a quick card using very simple elements. I stamped white ink on crumb cake cardstock and then layered the designer label tag punch with red. I stamped the solid flowers (from the Fabulous Florets set)*new*
in Basic Black and then layered with Real Red Cardstock.

Added to the top left is jewels for bling!

Hello...baby!

I cased this card from Mary Fish, Stampin' Pretty blog, and I love how cute this card is! I tweaked it a bit using l-o-v-e instead of baby in the little circles, but you can see that you can use different letters (4) in the card and still create a fun cute card. I used the same colors, although I was thinking of changing them. This uses the soon-to-be-retired papers Nursery Suite

don't wait until the last minute to get this paper...It is way too cute to miss!

oh, and I've been stamping and trying to get ready for the new catalog. I don't have a lot of the new stuff because I always buy stuff from the preview sneak peek and then I'm sorry I bought them because there were so many 'cuter' stamp sets in the catalog...so, I am 'saving' (ha ha ha ha) my money for the cuter stuff!!! We'll see how well I do in not spending too much, the lucky thing is that I don't have much $ to spend! (aren't we all in that boat!?) Well, I didn't lose very many stamp sets, (28+wheels)..so that's pretty good, right?

Angry-Birds Birthday Card

I was inspired by a funny game I play on my phone and a blog by a guy who does lots of papercrafts, and I'm sorry I don't have his name or his blog...but I took the birds and made my version of.....Angry Birds...using punches and hand cut pieces!

This is just a fun card that I wanted to make because it makes me laugh, and also JUST makes my daughter cringe when she sees me playing this game...

So, if you're addicted to this game, then you'll laugh at this card too!

I used:

1 3/4" circle punch - real red cardstock for Red Bird
1 3/8" circle punch - Pacific Point for Blue Bird
Delightful Daffodil for Yellow Bird
Peach Parfait for beak and eyebrows (for Yellow Bird)
White and Black cardstock and scraps for the feathers/etc.

Triple Layer Punch - New TOY!!!

This is the NEW Triple Layer Blossom Bouquet Flower punch! At first, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. The first few times I used it, it didn't punch through all the way. As I played with it, I realized I wasn't pushing hard enough. The layer that has the cut out petals needs pressure and you'll hear 2 clicks!

Triple Layer Punch
Blossom: 122464 $ 23.95
Doily: 122465 $23.95

The other thing, is that you can't adjust the punch layers until you unlock the bottom and open the punch. You also have to have it in the far right to be able to close the punch.

This is what you will get from the layers...

and This is what you can create!!!

Now, I'm going to be gone for a couple of days but I hope to be back and to show you some more new cards and ideas!!!

Flipping for Summer!

It's summer time and that means FLIP FLOP time...actually since I live in Southern California, we're almost wearing flip flops all year 'round!

I love this cute set, and I got the inspiration for this card from Becky Roberts. I almost cased this exactly except I used the flip flop stamp to create the background for the So Saffron, and then I used Marina Mist instead of the Bashful blue (I think) she used.....I used So Saffron, Real Red and Bashful Blue to color in the zori's (japanese word for flip flop)...

Then, I stamped the zori on Real Red, and cut it out....!

Now, to create the squares, I stamped the zoris once and then punched out the images 3 times. I row of zori's is perfect for this card...and hardly any wasting!

ARE YOU READY FOR Summer Vacation?? ARE your kids out for summer break? Mine will be out soon..and then she'll be home for the summer, working and hopefully cleaning out her room some more :D

Remembering the Oldies!

Well, I have my new catalog...and I know you can't see it really well, but that's just too bad! HA!

If you really want a catalog, all you have to do is ask me! I am busy getting my wish-list together...pad, pen, diet pepsi, ...my phone turned off so no one calls me........

I might need to win the lottery...sigh!

"Oh give me a home...where the buffalo roam...
...and the deer and the antelope play.... "

(does that ever make you question where they are talking about? )..I thought antelope were on the African continent, but maybe there's north american antelope??

... Anyways, this is an OLDIES set.. from 1996, called Happy Trails. I pulled it out and decided to play with it since I am reminincing about the oldies that we used to play with...and then this song popped into my head... or ..."Don't fence me in..."

or...'Happy Trails, to you...until - we -meet - again...."

Gotta keep humming, and maybe another song will pop into my head...

hmm...

I colored it with color pencils on crumb cake cardstock, and layered it on So Saffon and Marina Mist. Had to use my stamp a majig to place the saddle on the fence, and then coloring in the images, you need to add depth....I started to only do a lower layer of grass, but then decided it needed a horizon line...(art classes are helpful!)

Check out the RETIRED LIST -

Be sure to check out the clearance items...I saw cardstock (retired) for 1.49 a package, and reinkers for some of the older retired In-colors! You can only place those orders on my website...so don't delay!!!!

Catalog Kick off and Garage Sale - June 25th (Saturday) RSVP (bring your own bags) and you can also make a couple of cards!!!

It's 5 o'clock somewhere.....

Do you hear Jimmy Buffet singing "Margaritaville"? I think ever since seeing this card from my friend Joyce, and then going to Tami White's blog and seeing how she made her shirt card, I decided that I needed to try it! First I did the Origami shirt fold, and sponged it.... It is a very simple card, and easy to do!

Tami's verson is easier and only 2 folds for the collar! Very easy to do and you really have to check it out!

You can do a Father's Day card or simply a party invitation to a luau???

What a great way to kick off the summer festivities!

Margarita anyone???
