Let's Stamp!

I did play around more with the Baroque Motifs, and I have to say again, I love it...I do like the papers that coordinate with it too. The background papers are just lovely to work with and the colors are great to coordinate photos to, or to color images.
This is more of the photos I used from Christmas that look great with the stamped images, and the papers. The boho look is something I am going to try to make more samples, and maybe you too with just want to show me up!
COME ON! , FEEL the challenge?

BAD Dog....

For some of you...who know me, and who think I am exaggerating about my dog..."Rockie" AKA or postumously known as Destructo-DOG.... (just kidding, but almost serious), I have wanted to take photos to show the evidence of what he does...

This morning, I woke up to my cat (see her in the photo,) showing me the destruction left by Tornado Rockie. I never went in the kitchen when I woke up this morning and since it was dark when I posted the first photo, I didn't see the destruction left by the tornado, er...dog....but, evidence is clearly there.
Ariel is so concerned about that EMPTY food dish, that most of the time it is filled to the brim, but you can see that Destructo Dog left no food, er Cat FOOD behind...except some crumbs, which Ariel is not happy about....

The trash was emptied, and strewn about. It looks like mass destruction. I have never seen him go into the kitchen like this, but obviously, he was up and about...early (before 5am). I think that we will need to lock him in the patio (stamping room) from now on......but, he has destroyed things in there too, mostly trash. (whew) not cards....

Stitch with his look of disapproval at the behavior of the STUPID dog. (he knows the dog is stupid...and he tells him that all the time). I am sure you've seen the movie Cats & Dogs, well, I know he is thinking that all Dogs are STuPid.

I know he's right..but, I can't help but love the dummy.....
Anyone want a golden Retriever? He's a pretty dog, and fetches.
At least he's alive...for the time-being.....

Going going gone...soon in 3 days

Retiring soon! Do you realize there are only 3 more days left in this month? And then they will be GONE FOREVER except in pictures and EBAY!
Ebay is certainly the place to shop to find discontinued stamps and accessories, and all the punches I had featured in my class that had to do with corner punching is all gone! You can't get them unless you can find them on ebay, or at the craft stores (yes, they were by EK Success). I think you will like the NEW catalog. So far, the response has been pretty good! The overall look of the "boho" or Bohemian style has been well received! There are cute stamps that we all love!...

Have fun lookinng and SHOPPING!

Pick a Petal DSP

Well this is a NEW set from the NEW 2007-FALL WINTER Catalog and Idea Book! This is done with the Pick a Petal Stamp set. I think I am enjoying the versatility...I wasn't sure at first, but it is very cute, and I think as time goes on and I see new things stamped with it, I will like it more!

This new catalog has alot of NEW styles and features. It has accessories at the bottom of each page that will coordinate with the stamp set, and the samples shown. I don't think there are more samples, but there is a nice line dividing up the stamp sets, or they are located on 1/2 the page.

I HOPE you will like this new format ...there are new ribbons, new punches (all the other punches are GONE!). I am still in shock, so it will force me to make a new class using punches, I guess!

I hope that overall, you will be inspired, amazed, and dazzled by the new ideas, and styles that Stampin' Up! has to offer! I think they are going by the trends of the scrapbook and creative industry, that we saw at CHA this year. The Boho look is definitely in,.....as well as the collage and decorative styles....

Today, when the UPS guy came up, I had the letter (see below, posted), taped to my mailbox....I almost screamed, (actually, I think I did) when I saw the box being dropped on my porch...he said, "I better run now!"...and then he thanked me for the note, and I was jumping up and down....Tori got the box, and brought it in, .....rolling her eyes at me....we closed the front door, and I rushed to the computer to tell others online about the catalog!!!!!
well, as we shut the door, the UPS truck drove off HONKING!!!....lol...we both had to laugh about that........

Going back to my catalog shopping......not to buy until SUNDAY!!! uh oh...........

Every pirate lives for something different. For some, it's the open sea. For others (the masochists), it's the food. For you, it's definitely the fighting. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

CAN you see it? Can you see the Catalog? This is the cover..and some of the WONDERFUL new stamps that will be coming in the NEW idea book and catalog! I can't wait for the mail man to come! and the UPS truck...ok, oh where oh where is the little brown truck.......?

There is a memo that someone posted to the board that states that the UPS drivers need to be on the look out for Stampin' Up! Demonstrators...heh heh..... It is funny, so I am going to post it here......(I didn't make this up, some other clever person did!)

UPS Memo
To: Drivers and Security
Date: June 20th , 2007

Subject: Crazy Stampin' Up! Ladies
This time of the year has come around once again. Stampin' Up! is releasing the New Idea Book and Catalog. Please be extremely cautious of Stampin' Up! demonstrators (SUDs) for the next two weeks.
3. They have also been know to drive up next to you at a stop light in their mini vans and SUVs and ask if you have a package for them. Turn up your radio and pretend you cannot hear them. Do not let them approach your delivery truck at an intersection. SUDs have been know to stop traffic and throw all your packages off the trucks until they find their new Idea Book and catalog.
How to Deliver the New Idea Book and Catalog1. Be sure you have fixed your squeaky brakes, If not - park your truck two blocks away so the SUD can not hear you coming.
2. Put in your earplugs and secure your safety glasses.
3. If you see children looking out the window, put your finger up to your lips and say "SHHHH".. They are on a "lookout" for you and are being paid to "alert" their mothers (SUDs) when they see you coming to the door.
4. Approach the front door and very quietly, set the package down in front of the door (Make sure you place it in FRONT so when she opens the door, the box will be in the way and give you a little more time to escape).
5. Back up as far as you can and reach for the doorbell, (BE READY TO RUN !!!). Ring the doorbell and make a mad dash back to your truck and drive away....DO NOT LOOK BACK !!!
The UPS corporation is informing you of this because in the past years, SUDs have been known to scream at the top of their lungs with excitement and try to tackle you with hugs for delivering their catalogs. After you have been smothered with appreciation for getting them their catalogs on time, watch out for flying packaging material as they will open up the box before you have had a chance to leave , or they have gone inside.
Best of luck to you with this mission, and remember
Let's Be Safe Out There!!!!!

So, be on the Lookout for UPS drivers, and the Beautiful NEW Catalog and Idea Book that will be on it's way soon....to your living room!

hugs

Never ending Story...walls up!

My backyard is almost done! We are so happy to have it almost 'fixed' up. We still have alot of work to do, but this area is getting so much better! (at least there is NO DIRT!) , The walls are up and the deck in the back is LOOKING GOOD! It still needs work, and there are alot of dirt areas, but overall, it is better than where it started! So in addition to having stamping, we can also do a pool party too, with a fire pit and s'mores!

I think that so far, so good. Right now, it is called a Planter..for all intents and purposes! Our wall is almost done, and we have just a few more things that need to be done, before the 'planter' will be done!
Our wall is getting the last part put on, the cap or top brick.
It is going up slowly....but, it should be done this week.
Then we'll have wrought iron gates put up, and then it will look much better...
Now our party animal will have a yard that he can't just knock the fence over and invite his friends from the other side, to come and party in our yard! I know he will miss his friend Rocky, but, Rockie is going to have to just make do with barking at his friends over the new Block wall! ...I think he'll be ok. I just hope that someday, we'll have friends over so that he can play.....I think maybe after the yard is really all cleaned up!

Summer is almost here!

Summer is almost here! and Spring will be a memory. We haven't had alot of rain, but hopefully this summer will bring some nice weather. Last summer was hot hot hot! and I did finally install a small ac unit in my bedroom so Tori and I won't roast! These flowers were at my friend's garden in Wales, and although it was 5 years ago, the colors are so beautiful and vibrant that I had to share their beauty!
Today I will be finishing up a swap that I am in for VC-Rocks (virtual convention) using all Stampin' UP! Stamps! I hope to be putting them in the mail tomorrow (monday!)

2007-2008 Baroque Motif Stamp set!

Wow! THE New stamp sets that are coming in the PREVIEW Mini Catalog! I just had them mailed out from Stampin' Up! If you did not get one, you need to let me know. I haven't ordered extras yet, but they are really fun to play with. This one is my favorite right now, and I love the Baroque Motif Stamp set! This one is a Boho set, that will work for most any pages or beautiful cards! this one is mono in the sense that I used 1 ink and 1 cardstock color. I think if you play with this one you will like it! This is the NEW color Sky blue with Chocolate Chip Ink! You will want to try them out...!

Be sure to be on the look out for the NEW catalog coming up..I have been looking in my mail box and waiting for the BROWN truck to come up to my house with a nice big box that has a black logo on the side! (STAMPIN' Up!)

EAST finally meets WEST!

This paper is from the Palette O' Prints collection and it comes out so cute when it is folded! I love the cute designs that the paper gives off when
it is folded and changed! You can create fun ideas when you take the paper and manipulate it into other shapes other than just background! Get creative and fun. This dress is from the Minigami book by Gay Merrill Gross. You can click on the link (I hope it works) and see other cute designs that can be incorporated into card making! My friend Chiaki used this book to make the cutest cards. I hope you will be inspired to make some cards for your friends and family!

PUNCH POWER

PUNCHES make a plunge in my stamping!
I am so amazed now at my punches. I have been collecting them for some time. You can see my collection! (Do I have you interested in coming?) now....it is in chaos right now, but, I tell you, I have been having fun doing other things besides just stamping!
Do you see the amazing border around the photo? Okay, the subject of the photo is cute enough! Can you believe that was 5 YEARS ago! She was only 10! But, look at how the lacy border goes around the photograph. It was punched separately, and then layed across the back of the photo. You can be more detailed by lining up the border so it matches perfectly, but without, it still looks amazing!

This photo shows a different way to use the same punch. You can punch the corner of a square, and then fold over the edge to leave this lacy edge. Then you can layer it with a circle or a square with a stamped image to make a frame. This is a large square that was punched (I think it was about 3 inches in diameter) I cut the circle with the Coluzzle cutter. I stamped it with the Doodle flower and then colored it in with an Aqua Painter.

This one shows a smaller square, but I did use the paper from the Palette o' Paper.

It is a cool effect to have it reversed with a design on the back. I also used the Large Jumbo wheel on the back of the page to give it a design on the paper. Rockie looks so cute as well as my beautiful girl Tori. This was from this last MEMORIAL Holiday ...we went to the park!

This one is probably the most fun! I got this idea from my upline, Kathy Pardee. She had a class using punches, and this was so fun! I did this at the class, and my customers went to town with theirs. I am showing their cards too! (MINE is simple! You should see theirs!)

The push up is Valerie's and the one that says HAPPY is Norma's! Aren't they cute!
