Petal Pizzaz & The 2009-2010 IN-Colors!

At first...I thought these colors were too bright or vibrant. And it wasn't just the colors but the combination...or maybe it was because I really loved the 2008-2009 In-Colors...

But, these are growing on me. I think that the Melon Mambo is really pretty and the Crushed Curry is really a super lovely yellow!
To create this card, You take 2 pieces of cardstock that is 7" x 4 1/4"
Score in 1" and 1 1/2" on both sides of the cardstocks (both pieces) This will accordion fold in.

I then, took a piece of acetate and cut it 4 1/4" x 3". This will make the layer of flowers more dimensional inside the card!
I stamped several flowers in Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry,Bermuda Bay (not available yet), and cut them out carefully. I layered them together, and added the Razzleberry Lemonade paper over the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock

You can see the flower on the Acetate.

Put together, this shows some of the layers. The acetate is sandwiched between the cardstock.

Using the new Punch, I punched out the KIND THANKS and added it to the front of the card.....
Wouldn't this brighten your day??
It is only another day til the NEW Catalog starts!!!! Are you ready???

Peek a Boo Card - blog candy

Dawn Rapsas has a great tutorial on YOUTube.com that has a peek a boo card tutorial. She makes this card so easy to do, that you can do it..!!! She has a different card on her tutorial, and I just got this set, so I really wanted to do something fun with this set! I love the flower. It is so pretty to color in (although I really hate cutting out stuff...I don't know why..I guess I wish there was a punch to do that....LAZY, i guess)

You've got to try this card. Very easy! I am working on more pop up cards, but I had to try this one first. I used Pink Pirouette and Bella Rose paper that is soon retiring....The stamp sets I used was Simple Friendships, and Great Friends. Both have the butterflies that are (BOTH) in the new catalog!!! The NEW Catalog starts in 4 days!!!

***Blog Candy***

What's your favorite In-color that you'll miss in the catalog?

Origami Heart From my daughter!

Were you the type of person in school to pass along notes to friends? I mean, not your regular notes where you filled up the notebook page full of words gossiping about "who did what or did where or where did they go kind of thing" and folded it in quarters.....but were you the one who did things with FLAIR?

I laugh because I was one who always folded my papers up with flair full of my latest gossip and news with friends in passing along the hall. We had lots of stuff to write and we made sure we filled up the entire piece of notebook paper. We folded it into a cool little note that would disguise the note so that if a teacher found it, it looked like it was Origami...ha!

If they only knew!!!

Well, I had forgotten all about this lost art!!

AND I thought it was lost in all the teenage texts and IM's and photo emails and twitter and MySpace type of world.....But. Lo! and behold! My daughter and her friends fold and write notes all the time!!!

She had an origami heart on the coffee table (and if you've seen my coffee table, it is hard to find anything!). I asked her what it was, and she grabbed it from me and said "nothing". Well, you know if they say "nothing", then it is SOMETHING!!!

I asked her how to make this and so she willingly showed me how to make one!

So..this is using the Bella Rose papers, and a sweet heart card! It is large (the folded card is 4 1/4 x 4 3/4" Don't ask me why the weird shape, it is probably some left over cardstock I had laying around)

I will post a tutorial for this soon. I did take photos as I was folding this... *smile*..

I was sad to hear about Michael Jackson..i guess living in Los Angeles, we get bombarded with celebrity stuff, that you would think we were immune, but after losing Farrah Fawcett and MJ and Ed McMahon...we're almost ready to cry out loud here....

Tall Tales

One of the new papers coming in the NEW Catalog & Idea book...only 6 days away! ARE you ready to Start seeing new cards?

I hope so! I hope I am too!

I love the bright colors. They match the basic colors and great for making cards for kids and adults as well!

The colors in the paper (in the card) are So Safron, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive. The other papers also have Brilliant Blue, and Real Red.

I used the Clear Buttons and punched out circles using the 1" punch and the 3/4" punch to glue on the clear buttons. I love how they magnify the paper designs!

MY Catalogs Have ARRIVED!!!
I am so happy!!!

Razzleberry Lemonade Cheep Talk

I tried a new thing...to emboss and then brayer. It was a new technique to try (the link is below). Of course, I will have to try her tutorial, because she used Surfboards :) SMILE!**
But this is using all the new colors, including Old Olive. I also pulled out my sewing machine to stitch along the edges to embellish my card!

The ribbon is Dusty Durango (Orange) and the Pink cardstock is Melon Madness. It is layered on to the Razzleberry Lemonade paper and then on to the Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
I embossed the bird, branch and flowers, in clear EP, and then brayered over in Bashful Blue, masking the clouds. I then took my white gel pen to outline the clouds!
Be sure to check out the Tutorial below!

Get Well soon...

I call this a Z fold I folded it in 1/2 and then the front half, I folded back. I then mounted a slightly smaller card to the front.

This is a Get Well Soon card. I wasn't feeling my best either but I had to send this out to someone who has more to deal with than myself. I have never met her but isn't that why we love to stamp? We love to create things to send to people we know, or maybe we know from afar....or maybe just because the world becomes that much smaller when you reach out...

There was a request to send out a card to Cheryl Witten. She has cancer and she needs prayer. It was requested by another demo Lee Conrey. I decided that I needed to send a card to Cheryl.

So, my prayers are going out to Cheryl and her family and for the decisions they have to make.

Hoarder...that's me!

The old meets new. Well this is one of the NEW Hostess sets, and I love it..so cute! I decided to use up some of my "old" cardstock Baja Breeze and some of my designer papers, and create a new card using buttons as well. I have lots of these buttons because I love to hoard....

HOARD:
–noun
1.
a supply or accumulation that is hidden or carefully guarded for preservation, future use, etc.: a vast hoard of silver.
–verb (used with object)
2.
to accumulate for preservation, future use, etc., in a hidden or carefully guarded place: to hoard food during a shortage.
–verb (used without object)
3.
to accumulate money, food, or the like, in a hidden or carefully guarded place for preservation, future use, etc.

Does this sound like you? It sounds like me to a "T". I love to accumulate lots of stuff. For what? To hold it for a Rainy day? Or a what? Well, since this is retiring, I decided I better get out my stuff and USE my HOARDED stuff! before it becomes Obsolete and I can't use it for my cards anylonger!!!

Dear Camper Cards

Our church sends off the kids to summer camp for a week...the staff for the Children's ministry and several volunteer parents (almost a ratio of 1:1 adult to kid)....go as well. They have a fun, praise filled week that is dusty, dirty and crazy! (every kid's dream!).....We as a church are asked to send off cards to the campers to let them know that we're praying for them. I missed church last week because I was sick, but....(I took photos of the campers during our Camp Rally Night). So on FACEBOOK, my friend asked if we would send cards to her kids, so...I hastily got out my stamping supplies (they're already out) and stamped several cards......to send out to several of the campers (including her and her kids) ......

Making multiple cards is fun, however if you don't have a plan it can be intimidating. I used UNDER the STARS 111556 29.95 to make the background for this card!
I wanted to use the New colors, so I used all the BRAND New In-colors from the 2009-2010 Catalog & Idea book. I added Old Olive because it needed a "green". Stamping the background using Soft Suede, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango and Old Olive. They are randomly stamped all over the page.

Cutting up the pieces into 4 pieces and then layering them on Bermuda Bay and Dusty Durango Cardstock to make the cards.

Voila!,background, done

I then stamped the bear 4 times in Basic Black and colored in the bears.

I decided to add googlie eyes to the bears, and fortunately, I had some teeny tiny eyes....

He doesn't look as scary now...he actually looks really cute!

Now, added dimension to the bear, and the s'more and sleeping bag.....he's added to the card.
I printed a Bear Hug on the computer and added it to the card........
and inside, I wrote that I was praying for the campers at our Church camp...they're all between the ages of 7-12 years old. My daughter also has friends that are working as Camp Assistants, in the cabins.....

Now...isn't he just the cutest?

Bella Bleu

Bella Bleu is so pretty, and teamed with Brocade Blue, and Not Quite Navy, it enhances the colors even more. I love the blue tones of this paper, and the elegance it portrays...
I die cut the flowers using Vanilla Cardstock and then sponged the edges using the Not Quite Navy ink pad. The leaves were cut using NQN and then layerd on the Paper, and then mounted over NQN.
The Brocade blue cardstock was scored in a cross hatch design, using the Scor Pal, but you can use your scoring tool on the Paper Trimmer as well.
The button (retiring) was used for the center of the flower
I'm sorry I haven't been posting much stamping lately..I've been sick, and today is actually the first day I have even felt like standing much!!!
Tomorrow, I will show some new products coming in the NEW Catalog!

Flower Fancy and Razzleberry Lemonade

One of the new Designer Papers, is Razzleberry Lemonade. Does it make you think of summer days sipping Raspberry lemonade? No?
Well, the name gives me visions of summer days, and the bright colors are fun and full of sweetness and cheer.
I teamed it up with Old Olive and Melon Maddness (bright pink) of course Razzleberry cardstock.
The New ribbons (polka dotted YEAH!) match the new colors of the cardstock and ink pads for the New In-colors. The richness of the colors are fun and happy! I miss the "old" colors, especially Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss, but I am looking forward to the new colors...

Graduation Card

My friend's daughter graduated this last week, and I stamped a quickie card for her. I used the Petal Pizzaz set in bright colors...
Using Pixie Pink, Orchid Opulence, and Green Galore to stamp the flowers and leaves on the white cardstock. The card was cut to fit into the open end envelope. I folded it over and then used a flower with a rhinestone brad to the center to close the card

Opening the card is easy to scoot it away from the flowered brad, and I tucked in a couple of gift cards to our favorite place, California Pizza Kitchen....along with a lei for her graduation in her colors...Gold (yellow) and Green....She wore it over her bright Green robes, and she just told me that she loved it!!!

Stamp a Stack Bella Bleu

Bella Bleu Designer Paper is so lovely...I am glad that this is one of the papers that made it into the NEW Catalog! This is a card that you can still make!
The card is Not Quite Navy, with the Designer Paper and a strip of NQN and Vanilla cardstock. The daisy is a die (sizzlet) that was cut twice, using So Saffron and NQN. I used the THANKS from the Thank you Kindly set. I love this font!
I know that I have been really quiet, and I apologize. I have been really busy with Graduation at my daughter's school. They lock down the school and then they have lots for the kids to do. There is a casino, disco area, karaoke, foosball, inflatables (not your typical bounce houses, but obstacle courses and zip lines!)
I hope you enjoy this simple card..very easy.....this is one for my Stamp a Stack for June 20th.
email me if you have any questions!

Good Morning Sunshine Album

,

More pictures of the inside of the CD Album...

As I am watching the Laker Game - Playoff Finals Game 3. Lakers are trailing, and there is only about 1 minute left...Kobe has missed his 5th freethrow....what ...is this real?....I must be dreaming! Not Kobe!!!

Well, I have to get back to my blogging...and my project here. I really love this project. I got the pattern from Crafttvweekly.com. They were a great site to get ideas from, but last year, they decided to shut down their site.

The shut down has left a real void in the Stamping area, but I love that YOUTUBE.com is available to peruse. Make sure you visit Youtube.com often. There is a wealth of videos and techniques by some really talented stampers!

anyways, if you come across a tutorial called Pop Pop Fizz Fizz, then this is the one that will show you how to make this one (it is very simple- so if you don't have the tutorial, all you really need is the CD folders and then take measurements) --> Here is the link for the video tutorial (thanks Marie!!!) I got the folders from Uline.com <---click!
Well, I know that by the time this post comes up, we'll know the resuls of the game...but I am sure that MAGIC will happen tonight...not the Lakers Magic....

Good Morning Sunshine, CD album

Uline.com is where I got these folders.

I am going to miss this paper. I wasn't crazy about it, but now that I have worked with it, I love the cheerfulness of it!

It would brighten the day of anyone sad, and would uplift someone who needed to be lifted up..!!!

I put the colors together using the colors in the papers, but adding Chocolate Chip. The Chocolate coordinates with some of the papers. If you saw this blog entry this morning, I changed the photos...re-took it wiht my daughter's camera. I was having fun with this project...

My absence from blogging is due to working on Grad Nite for my daughter's school. This time of year is always busy, but I like being involved with her school and getting to know the "kids". I kinda snaked this in early before leaving for work....

Next year will be her graduation, and it will be all over....sad....ok, not too sad..She's already telling me she is "over with High School"......lol

I decided to use lots of buttons and punched flowers. I think I might have overdone it, but I got carried away having so much fun punching them out and layering them. I had a vision of placing them around the oval (from the Sizzix oval scallop frame) but I still think I did too much!

I will take better photos (especially of the inside)...

ok, gotta get ready for work........!!

Cheep Talk and Good Morning Sunshine

Are you getting tired of these cards? I hope not...because the colors although challenging, are really fun colors. They do brighten up my morning, and I am happy to see them!!!
When I was stamping this card, and the phrase, I was thinking of Randy Newman and Toy Story, ..."you've got a friend in me...".

Just in case you're wondering...I am still waiting for my order and my new catalog...It got caught in some problem that Stampin' Up was having on May 31st...and I am not happy.............. :(

More Cheep Talk and Good Morning Sunshine!

After cutting a strip from this paper, I was left with a strip that had the the pear at the top of the strip. I thought, why not punch it out..so punching it with the Summer Sun paper, and then layering it dimensionally over the Kiwi Cardstock and then tying the Kiwi Striped ribbon, and layering that over the So Saffron....

I then thought it needed some stamping, so I added the birdie after layering it with Summer Sun and Chocolate Chip.....

it isn't my favorite of all the cards, but it did take some time to construct and think...and isn't that part of the fun of making cards???

Only another week of school left...what are your children or family doing this summer??
