Merry Moments Mini Pocket Album

I just got this paper in....Merry Moments 115672 $9.95
It is so pretty and the colors combined are just the right feel for Christmas....do you feel Christmas? NO? I know..it is so hard to feel like Christmas with the heat just bearing down..but Christmas is coming and I want to be prepared!
This mini album was from YOUtube.com I found it by searching for a pocket album and this was from the Stamp Goddess...You have to see her tutorials. She has a great way of making something look so easy!

I used the colors from the designer papers and although Chocolate isn't one of the Christmas colors, it sure brings out the richness of the season!

The papers are folded and pockets are formed where you can have more photos and thought jotted down to remember the holidays! I can't wait to fill this with photos......maybe a Halloween one is next? Hmmm...the wheels are turing!

This set is called Sweet Season 116471 $18.95
this is one of the sets that will be given out to those attending Convention! What will you see with this set? I can't wait to see what is shared!

Stampin' Up! & Clues to a New Partnership...

What is the best friend that you had when you were growing up? Who did you confide in when things were bad or you had a bad dream? What about your kids or your little brother or sister?

I didn't have any stuffed animals but I had my real puppy, who I did all those things. My daughter had Barney and then after she outgrew Barney, it was a BUILD A BEAR bear...She loves her BUILD A BEARS! She has 3 of them since she was about 10 years old and loves each one of them.....We have a few outfits for each one...

Our local party store has a machine you can rent and animals with outfits that you can purchase and then stuff at the party, just like Build A Bear...now, we've outgrown BAB, but the concept is something that will last forever....a special friend that you chose to love!

Stay Tuned for a NEW Partnership with Stampin' Up!...any clues to what it is?

3D Christmas Tree

As a teaser and a sneak peek of NEW dies coming up...I pulled out one of my own dies...

I bought this from the Rubber Stamp Convention years ago from SAR = Some Assembly Required. It is a cool site that sells dies that will cut teeny little pieces of interlocking paper shapes that will make a cool 3D tree. They have other shapes as well, but I really loved this tree.

So, When you see your NEW Mini Occaisions Catalog coming out soon (ordering starts for demonstrators, on August 1st) and for customers on September 1st, You will be seeing something like this. Of course, I am positive that the tree you will see will be larger...this one measures 1.25" x 1.25", so it is really really small!

Check out their website
www.some-assembly-required.com

The one I really would like to get is the SNOW GLOBE!! but...it has to wait..I have to get the Stampin' Up! dies first!

SAS - Stamp a Stack

Summer has been hot and sunny, but we live in Southern California so what else can we expect? It has been a gorgeous summer! I haven't been to the fair yet but I was hoping to go. This weekend is also the International Quilt Festival, but I don't want to go...why spend more $ that I don't have that I "need" for my stampin habit???
This is another card for my SAS and although I am revealing what we're doing, I wanted to show you how easy they are. I cut and prepare all my pieces so all you have to do is stamp and adhere.
The flowers are punched, and the beads are glued to the centers of the flowers. The Old Olive cardstock is stamped with Versamark using the Simply Said stamp set. I decided to pull out one of my "oldies" sets rather than buy another set for this SAS!
Trying to save money on things that I really want, rather than just buying news sets, "just because!"
Starting in August, I will be doing Christmas Stamp a Stack! August, September, October and November all will be Christmas themed, so that we can get started on our Christmas cards!

Summer Colors are IN!

---> Stamp A Stacks are so much fun !!!

Well, they can be fun if you're creating something that you can use several of each card.

The idea that I try to incorporate is to create cards that can build up your stash and that you can send to friends for different occasions.....

This color combination was taken from the Summer FUN campaign that Stampin' Up! has on the website (demo side). There are 5 different color combinations that are Summer themed!

I find that these are very summery and can also be "kid" themed or even a little masculine. Of course, they are out of my comfort zone, so that makes this more challenging!

The colors are:
Pumpkin Pie, Ballet Blue, Old Olive and Crushed Curry

What do you think? Summery? Birthday Fun? Cheerful? ...I think it is too! Challenge yourself with these colors!!!

Pink Flamingo Tri-Fold Shutter Card

Flamingo Tri-fold Shutter card.... I know..you see me write in my blog..I have this paper and I never use it...so...pulling out a stashed item...I decided to try my hand at making another tri-fold, but a different size!
So, First I took a 1/2 sheet of cardstock 4 1/4" x 11". I laid it on my Scor-Pal and using the bone folder, I scored on the lines with the TRIANGLES at the top. This makes a perfect Tri Fold for an 11" sheet.

You can see the triangle a the top of the Scor-Pal. There are 2 of them. 1 between the 3 1/2" and 4" marks and the other one is between the 7" and 7 1/2" marks. Be sure to use those markings if you're using the 11" length.

Then, place your cardstock at the second line past the 2" mark. Score 1" down at the 4" line. Do to both sides of the card, and at the other end of the card. (all 4 edges have to be the same)

They are marked here below in this photo. YOU can see where my index finger and my pinkie is places.

Next take your piece to the cutter, and you will place it at the 1" line.
Cut between the scored 1" lines on BOTH SIDES

This is what your piece will look like, and folded

Again, closer up.

Decorate and have fun!!!!!

I am making BIRTHDAY CARDS because AUGUST 2 is my 50th Birthday! Celebrate the fun with me!!!

Tall Tales - Trifold Shutter Card

If you know me, you know that there are just some things, I absolutely love...and when it comes to stamping, I love POP Ups! I love how they interact and what makes them move!
This is one that has been going around lately, and it is called a Trifold Shutter Card. They are so easy, and once you learn the basics, you can make it yourself.
This one is done with the Tall Tales Designer Paper and Apricot Appeal Cardstock. I used 12x12 Cardstock but you don't have to use 12x12...I will show you how, in my next post!
Don't you just
love making pop ups too?
Sorry I haven't posted to my blog...my dad is in the hospital and it has been a busy week .....I had some time this weekend to do some stamping, so this week should be full of new things to see...be sure to check back and see tomorrow's entry!!!!

Boxes Galore!

I was perusing the Stampin' Up! Website and they had this cute little box (well, it was different, but we all have to add our own little touches to things, don't we?)....
This is the Matchbox die and I punched out the top of the box with the curvy label punch. I then had some cute little flowers from the Trio Flower punch, that I cut the petals apart. I then used Crystal Effects in the center and then glitter....it sparkles! the label is then layered with acetate so that if I put in some candies or other goodies, they won't fall out!

This is another box using the Box 2 die that I punched the top with the Large oval, and then layered acetate. I punched the side with a hole punch and the pulled the ribbon through to create a handle. Then tied some ribbon around and stamped the Friends stamp in Dusty Durange...this color is growing on me.....

Paper Embossing

This is the new Stampin Up/Sizzix Big Shot embossing folder! I love how it embosses the paper so nicely!
You can do so much with this! I embossed a square, and then cut the real red cardstock with the scallop square die and placed a folded edge so that it would be a note card (the top edge doesn't have the scallops on it).
I then layered the embossed cardstock on the note card, and the placed the white eyelet through the card, and folded the little tabs under. The ribbon (polka dot) was tied and then glued in the circle of the eyelet. The striped ribbon was placed under the eyelet and wrapped 'round the embossed cardstock.

Live Laugh and Love - Celebrate a 50th Birthday!

Today is my friend, Ellen's birthday. It is a special birthday because...it is one of those Milestones that we cross...I guess if we get so lucky! Well, we've been friends since we were 5 years old. We were in the same sunday school class at church...
And to top it off, our parents were friends when they were in high school.
So, we go way back!

I wanted her birthday card to be special, so I made this a A6 card. It is a 1/2 sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper, and folded in half. I used the Gold cardstock that is discontinued, but thought that since this birthday is like the Golden Anniversary.....I wanted to use gold as the accent. I love the white ink on the black, and the Fifth Avenue Floral was embossed in white ink and white embossing powder. The other part was stamped with PRICELESS in white craft ink.

I also stamped 2 of the flowers on black and cut them out to layer them over the other images.
Live Laugh & Love was also stamped on black in white craft ink and embossed. It sure looks nice, and although I don't emboss much, I really should do it more often!

Tall Tales

I saw this card on this blog by Carla Brasher and just thought how cute it is! I bought this paper on a whim because it was one of the papers we could order on the preview of the catalog. After getting it, I was at a loss of what to create with it. I have customers that don't have kids, and don't like brown, and don't like cutesy. So, what to do that will be inspiring and want them to at least come and stamp?....

The courderoy button is dyed using the KRAFT button and Crushed Curry ink pad. I rubbed the button on the ink pad until the color was saturated, and then let it dry.

I think that this card fits that....It is chocolate (brown) and is cutesy and could be for a kid, but, it has enough to make it nice enough for a friend...don't you think?

Simple Friendship Scallop Flower

The NEW Textured Embossing folders are so nice! They make such a clear impression. I used the plate for the scallop circle (which I cut each of the scallops so that it looks like petals). The pale plum cardstock is layered with the Daisy 2 die and then the friend was punched out on whisper white cardstock after it was stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The flowers were blended using a blender pen, after stamping.

The other Pale Plum cardstock was embossed using the NEW embossing folder. I layered the Polka dot ribbon on top and then layered it over the Rich Razzleberry cardstock which was stamped with the flower from the Simple Friendship set.

Fancy Favor Bag

What a cool die this Fancy Favor is! I love how you can create bags of different styles to make this YOUR signature!
I cut this out of Apricot Appeal and then layered with Tempting Turquoise and Designer Paper from the Flamingo and Really Red, and Old Olive. The cello bag inside is filled with die cut flowers to embellish a scrapbook page or card for the recipient!

Gift Boxes with a Twist!

These are too cool! Stampin' Up has a video that they share how to make these cool boxes (you might find it on YouTube.com eventually). I love them and I used to buy boxes just like this from Bath and Body works, but now, I can actually make them myself!

The tutorial is very simple! I don't want to share how to do it yet, since it is more of a perk to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and see it on the website as a new demonstrator...

If you're interested in signing up to be a demonstrator, ask me about it, and I will give you details! There is a GREAT special coming up soon, so stayed tuned, or email me!

New & Old Buttons with New & Old sets

Hi! Did you like that title? Well after making a card using an old retired set, I decided that I better get out a NEW set and use buttons....so, I did! This has the new Circle Circus set that wasn't on my list to buy but after seeing a few ideas, I thought I would try this one out....I stamped on Tempting turquoise and punched out and glued it on the bottom of the buttons. If you haven't tried this, you need to!

The Fancy bulk buttons that we can purchase (demonstrators only) include these beautiful colors! The turquoise flower button and the celery green buttons!

I haven't done much with the Flamingo paper, so I pulled it out of the nice new plastic folder and decided to play with it! I think I shy away because of the BRIGHT combination of colors that this one has.
The colors are Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Summer sun...(bright, eh?)

I scalloped the edge of the designer paper and then folded over the edge so that backside of the paper shows through.
The buttons were tied with Linen thread and then mounted to the embossed cardstock (embossed with the NEW FOLDER - Finial Press #115963 $7.95)
I think of summer and tropical colors, so I pulled out Just Beachy, and stamped this one..I think this set might be retired....but...the alphabet is new...the JUST ALPHABET. It is an interesting one to mount since the letters don't mount up in order....but I love the style and (it is reasonably priced too at 19.95)

Cottage Wall Designer Paper

One of the Papers that I found in the catalog was Cottage wall. I think I was instantly drawn to it because of the purple green combination. Of course it isn't purple, but the Rich Razzleberry brings out the purple and it is complimented by the Orchid Opulence. I use a sampler sheet to showcase my designer papers, and also combine it with the cardstocks it matches. This helps me with designing and I don't have to refer back and forth to the catalog to use my glasses (bifocals) to read the fine print!

I made this pillow box from the Sizzix die, in acetate, and I punched several Oval Scallop tags and using the Oval stamp set, I made several "tags" and butterflies, and ribbons. These will embellish the cards that will be included in the box. This would make a cool little hostess gift, or friendship gift!

Added to the cards, they make a nice little gift card enclosure!

The Fancy Favor box is perfect to hold the 3x6" cards (folded) and the 3x3 cards.
