Project #5 Country Living Kit and Holiday Extravaganza SALE Begins!

Another ornament, using RUB ONs....and Micro Beads. I applied the designer papers to the chipboards, and then using the Sticky tape, applied the Microbeads. Well, it didn't make the coolest effect..I think the glitter from yesterday's project looks more appealing, but it was something different, and fun. I do like the red added to the Baja Breeze, and of course, we had to put in a photo of Suki, my little companion.

BE SURE TO CHECK OUT My WEBSITE as I will have the special discounts offered by Stampin' Up! to get your Holiday Wishes and Shopping a boost!

Also, don't forget that if you order 300.00 from my website, you can get a set FREE from the Fall Winter Sampler as well as other discounts! This offer is good until November 30th!

On another note: I saw the TWILIGHT movie, and .....I was happy to see it, and yet disappointed in the same way. I don't want to give away spoilers, but it doesn't do the book justice....well, complete justice. It was enjoyable in the way that a movie can be enjoyable, but you don't get the same effect that the book can obviously give you by giving you insight into their thoughts. I saw it on Friday, and in the theater was a bunch of giggling girls who giggled at EVERYTHING (HOW ANNOYING IS THAT?) ..but I went again on Saturday, with my daughter this time...and I found that I got over the disappointment, and was enjoying the movie, and the story. So....if you don't like it the first time, GO again, and see it get over your hang ups comparing the book to the movie and enjoy yourself! (Now, I have to tell you, that I don't agree with the Vampires, themes etc, but the romance between the characters and Stephanie Meyer's style of writing is really the key to this book series!) One more thing...I actually went to the Theater by MYSELF on Friday! It was sort of liberating! No one to tell me what they wanted to eat, they had to go to the bathroom and throw a sweatshirt over my head and tell me to watch it, or have to get a text message out! lol

Be sure to let me know if you're interested in this great offer!

Another die cut snowflake needed some decorating, so I covered it with WHITE Craft ink (included in the kit) and then I used the Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, and covered it, and heated it

After heating, it looks like frosting, with glitter!

I then took one of the scallop circles, and covered it with the striped red Designer paper that is also die cut, and then spread out the Mono glue, and covered that with Dazzling Diamonds. It dries with the strips barely showing through, but looks like glittery candy!

Punching a hole in the top and using the silver elastic, makes a cool hanging for the ornament!

This one, I added a photo of my daughter...it is from last year, but she still looks like this..(I only have photos of her in a basketball jersey, so I had to use this one since she's cleaned up in this photo!)

Country Living Project #3

I am really having more fun with this Country Living kit!
The die cut papers, and chipboard make it so easy to put together!
I punched out the chipboard, and also the 2 pieces of die cut papers, and then glued them on the chipboard.
I then punched holes for the ICE Square Brads, in the turquoise and lite green. The White chipboard snowflake was coated in white craft ink and then sprinkled with Irridescent Ice Embossing powder and heated. It was applied dimensionally over the center of the larger snowflake
Pacific Point ink was applied to the edges to give it a worn look.....
I punched a hole at the 'top' of the snowflake, for a ribbon and silver elastic to attach to the garland.

Thanksgiving is only 3 days away! It is coming so fast, and Christmas will be here in just a little over a month!
All the stores are getting ready for the Christmas rush, and I really do hope that the retailers have a good Christmas.......

Shellebrate

I LOVE Shellebrate the Season!
Isn't it the cutest set? I think that the snowman on a surfboard, well, it is just da BOMB! don't ya think?
Ok, well, I am from California, and I guess we're just surf crazy...well, not everyone is, but this set is my favorite Cutie Christmas set. I am not really going to use this one for my cards that I send out, but I am going to use this for a thank you, or other card to send out to someone!
I used my Cuttlebug embossing folders to make the background textured, and I am hoping that when Stampin' Up! comes out with their versions of textured backgrounds, that they have something similar to this one! *(I don't know for sure if they will come out with textured backgrounds, but....it was hinted....!!!).....so Let's just hope that it will come out soon!
Now, to give the background even more texture, I used 2 way glue on the textured areas, and then sprinkled glitter over the areas, making the snowflakes shine.

I even used dots of glue on the snowman and the water to make it look glittery. The textured paper is stitched to the Baja Breeze, and accented with Riding Hood Red and the striped ribbon...!!!

More Rub Ons

You know, I have resisted buying these....but, you've seen in the last few postings how I have made several cards...all with this particular Rub On set! I haven't even really put a dent in the amount of rub ons that are left in this package!
They coordinate with all the stamp sets perfectly! ..and you can put several on 1 card! I used the snowflakes to put one below the snowman, and one around his head. The "Naughty or Nice" fits in the Extra Wide Oval Punch, and the Dear Santa fit just above the Stitching!
Yes, I stitched this! Since the Janome Mini sewing machine was on special this last weekend, I decided to pull mine out and stitch!

20% Discount on Rub Ons until November 30th!
Twilight, the movie opens today....I have my ticket...(I have 2 tickets..one for today, and tomorrow with my daughter....) I wanted to see the midnight showing, but...I have to work on Friday..DARN! REAL Life just gets in the way!

Calendar Gifts

Gift Giving is always on my mind at Christmas time, and since I try to always give out my Calendars, this year, since Stampin' Up! had a special on these tins, for 1.95, I thought maybe, my calendars might fit inside! It would be a double duty since the calendars can be used, and then the tin can be saved for a special place to store other things after the year is over! The cards are all cut and cornered rounded, and then I used my Bind it All and punched the tops. It fits inside the tin, perfectly! The Designer paper is cut to fit over the top and then the ribbon was added ...I still need to add flowers and buttons....

We can always use Calendars especially at this time of year....and if you make it yourself, then the person who receives this gift will always know you were thinking of them...and they will also be thinking of YOU! Calendar Class is on November 29th at 4 pm
I used the BEST Wishes and More Set!
Buy your own set Best Wishes & More 26.95 (plus tax/shipping) to Guarantee your use of the flower and leaf that is used in almost all the pages of the calendar! The class will be included with the fees, including all cardstock and you will receive a FREE Tin with the Calendar!

Project #2 Country Living Garland

My snowflake is the next project added to the garland from the Country Living Kit.
I used the Mono glue and ran a thin line all the way around the edges. Now, keep in mind that the papers, were PRE-CUT to fit over the PRE-CUT chipboard! Now, you can't imagine it could be any easier! I know that they did this because it was such a pain last year when they did the THANKFUL garland ...in which you had to trace and cut the letters yourself!

The blue glitter is from the Fine Cosmo collection - It takes a little while to dry, but once it is dry, it looks FABULOUS!

Happy Christmas -Using Rub ons

I decided that using this particular phrase from the Rub ons needed something cute and YUMMY! And then I got a comment on one of my blogs about snow, and chocolate...well, it got me thinking that we needed some chocolate cupcakes for Christmas...or at least something to think of Chocolate and Christmas...

but I did get a chance to play with the rub ons....still need to keep working on more ideas......send me an idea if you have any!!! (oh, and if you can see the cupcakes, I used a sparkle pen to accent little sugary pariels on the cupcakes and highlighted the cupcake stand) But, it is still missing something......what can I add to this card?

20% Discount off Rub Ons from now until November 30th!

Okay I added more...

RUB ONS! It coordinates with the punches

Now, I think it is more complete!

What do you think?

20% Discount off Rub Ons!

Rub On Sale

Rub ons are on sale this month, and from now until the end of November, get 20% off all rub ons! The minimum purchase is 20.00, and then you can order the Rub Ons for 20% off the catalog price!
This is a tri fold card, which I used the rub ons on the Brushed Gold cardstock and then punched it out with the 1 1/4" punch. Then I mounted it on a 1 3/8" square of Always Artichoke. I love the designer paper which is from the Urban Garden collection. It is then tied with a chocolate taffeta ribbon.
You can see how well the chocolate and white rub ons are used in this card, and I love the effect over the Brushed Gold cardstock..

Gift Giving Post #1

Well today I am doing a posting on giving gifts. I made these 3x3 cards, which I put into this great little plastic box, from Clearbags.com. Be sure to measure your envelope to be sure that you can get your cards and envelopes in the box before ordering. These are just perfect for the cards and envelopes, and they make a cute little gift for a nice way to say "THANKS!" I gave them to my Saturday class for coming as a way to say THANKS for supporting my business!

There are 4 little cards and envelopes, and I hope they will like the thought behind the gift....
It was a lot of fun to create this, and maybe it might inspire you to come up with something quick and easy to say THANKS...by using what you have in your stamp room, and your imagination! I used 3 colors of cardstock, Real Red, Old Olive, Baja Breeze, and Ski Slope Designer Paper. I also used the Scallop square punch as well as the Curly Label punch!

Decor Elements....

I was at TALL MOUSE..which is a very creative fun craft store. Somewhat on the lines of Michaels, but much better quality items. They always have fun ideas to share! I love this glass brick. They drilled a hole in it so it can be used as a light....and the decor elements that they have are vinyl precut words, shapes etc. I thought that they looked simply beautiful when backed with the scrapbook papers.....
then, also another thing they had, was using frames for each letter in different sizes, ...to put on the mantle....don't you think this is a great idea????

ADDITION!:
Hancock Fabrics is having a 1 day Sale on the Janome sewing machine...yes, I have a Bernina, and yes, I have this sewing machine. It is a great little lightweight machine that will sew through cardstock. Be sure to pick it up if you're interested in sewing. I was visiting a blog (Confessions of a Ribbon Addict). Be sure to check out her blog and see the machine, as well as visit Hancock Fabric's site.....there is free shipping if your order is over 50.00, so you can always add fabric, trims, lace or something to get the free shipping! (click on the underlined highlighted words above)
