Curved Suitcase

Becky Roberts (<--click!) has the CUTEST Tutorials! I love her Traveling Trio of suitcases! I really love the curved edges of the middle case, so I was experimenting with the tutorial to make these 2 samples!
The first (top) one is using Marina Mist, and the second one is using Chocolate Chip. Both Designer papers are from the Greenhouse Gala Papers. The colors are bright and cheery and ready to be filled with cute cards that you can stamp to match! What a great gift to give someone special!

Have a BLESSED THANKSGIVING! I know I have a lot to be thankful for, and things I need to lift up in prayer. I hope you have something you can be thankful for!

Holly Jolly Tri shutter Card

I was showing some of my friends some of the cards and mini scrapbook albums that we've done in past classes, and out bounced the Tri Shutter card! I decided to make it in one of the NEW papers, HOLLY JOLLY! Of course, deciding on what to put in was my challenge today but finally after a few experiments...this is what I did!

I love the font for the Merry Christmas! And of course the punched ornament is so easy to do! I love that the punches coordinate with the stamps!
Have a fun weekend...it's been drizzling here in CA...can't imagine that CA is still in a drought, but I think it would almost take a full month of rain for us to catch up!

Let's yoyo with Deck the Halls!

Supplies to make YoYo's!
fabric
Circle die
scissors
yoyo maker (from big box store)
Cut out your circles

place in the yo yo maker.
be sure that your edges stick out around the disk that gets placed on top. The disk will snap in place

Sew in each of the holes. Be sure that the thread is in the right place. There are instructions in the package to make the yoyos

Remove from the tool, and pull the thread to gather

This shows the size difference! What a big difference...the circles will shrink significantly!

Now this is 3 concentric yo yos. I alternated the fabrics around, and this combination, Deck the Halls, is a very antique Christmas look!

Real Love in Real Red

I love this box in the Stampin' Up Idea book & Catalog! It just shows off some of the wonderful buttons, brads and die cuts that we offer! I decided to do my own version of the book...so it isn't exact but this is the cover of what I created...

Inside I'm still working on it..and hopefully I can show you soon. I've had a hard time on my computer to get on my blog lately, so I apologize for not posting more often...I have been working on a few different projects..and this is coming out so sweet...

Have a great day today..It is Veteran's day, and we need to celebrate those who are fighting for our freedom and remember those who lost their lives in the fight....

Love Letters

At my local Big box store, they had some of these blank chipboard books, which I couldn't resist purchasing! I decided that I needed to go beyond my regular safe style and try to "grow" my style!

I cut some chipboard letters, and got some cool rub ons (birdhouse) and stretch! LOVE LETTERS Designer paper is so beautiful! I love the red, black and vanilla colors, and patterns. They are so retro and antique! I decided I needed to do something with the pictures from my daughter's high school graduation and the her gown was just the perfect color to match this paper! As I finish the other pages, I will show you more of what I come up with. Each page is a 6x6 with tabs, but this book is going to be a work in progress for now.

It's a Jolly Holiday!...from the heart!

I wasn't as thrilled with the Christmas Holiday Papers when the catalog first came out, but...as I have been playing with the Jolly Holiday Papers, I think I am falling....falling...and falling....for them! I love the cute petite designs. The jumbo circles don't do much for me but this little petite patterns are cute for note cards, such as these!
I made the little box for the 3x3 notecards, and using the mini envelopes from the catalog, this fits in the box perfectly!

Adding a scallop to the box side to enhance the side shape makes this box even more cuter!
Each card is made using the design for punches stamps called GIFTED and PERFECT PUNCHES. They are just perfect, don't you think?

The colors that are used in the Jolly Holiday papers are Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler. I accented it using the Crumb Cake cardstock and Very Vanilla. The punches all do the rest along with the stamps! How cute would this be for a friend or relative to give as a gift. I know this year is going to be a difficult year for lots of people. I am included. The recession might over for Congress, and the President, but it isn't over for the rest of us...I finally have been hit really hard myself in my 'other' job and so I have to start thinking of ways to use my supplies and my brain to make gifts for Christmas, otherwise I will have nothing to give away! So, I have been trying to stamp and make gifts for those in my circle....because this gift comes from the <3 {heart}
