Flowers wishing the Happiest birthday!

Where is the time going? It is already starting to feel like fall. School is here, and the kids are screaming and laughing on the playground...it's recess right now, and our neighborhood school is in full force! We already had back to school night....I can tell because the parents swarm around the school. It is pretty good now because in years past, it never was an issue with parking but that's the joys (or not) of living near a school!

My friend Denise lives in Las Vegas, and she loves flowers. She works with flowers and lives 'flowers'.

Her birthday was last week, and I sent this card to her to celebrate her 60th birthday!

What a great milestone!

Happy birthday Denise!

Sweet Eats - Pumpkin treat!

My upline, Sandy Hancock made this cute cute cute pumpkin treat and she showed us how to make them! I love how simple it is and just a sweet treat!

I used the tag punch to create my tag, and so mine is different, but you get the idea...

Tootsie pop suckers can be a fun thing to disguise!

Smashing Move!

My daughter and her roommate from last year, moved into their dorm...and so I left her at school after helping her move in...

I miss her, and I know she misses me. This summer we started a new thing...we got a SMASH book, and started putting in things into a book to remember silly fun things...

I decided to make her a little accordion book.....

SO she can put more photos and other things into it.....

Using Echo Park paper, and basic black cardstock, I folded and glued all the pages together....

I know this isn't Stampin' Up! but I think it can easily be done with Stampin' Up! cardstock and designer papers! It sure was fun for a Quickie Project!

2-4-6-8 box

a 2-4-6-8 box is so easy to make because those are your EXACT scoring lines to create this box!

I used a 12 x 8 1/2" sheet of cardstock.

Score at 2-4-6-8 and you are left with a 1/2 section at the end

score at the bottom 2" for the base of the box

Cut these sections apart to the 2" score line. Be sure to cut off the 1/2 flap only in that same section. If you notice, I cut small triangles at the score line to reduce the bulk at the edges

Score 1/2" line at the top for the top closure

VOILA!

Today, I'm leaving to take my daughter back to college...snif snif...I hate FALL!!!! (just kidding)

Olive Oil Gift

I love OLIVE OIL! And my friend sells this lovely olive oil that is flavored! I gave a bottle to a friend who is now just loves oo as much as I DO!

Her birthday was yesterday, and I wanted to give her another bottle since I know she gave away her last bottle...

So I needed to make a gift box for it. This bottle is perfect for the 2-4-6-8 box

To create the 2-4-6-8 box, you need to have a sheet of cardstock at least 8 1/2" wide. I used a 12x12 sheet of cardstock since I wanted this to be taller than 11".

In my next post, I will show you how I created this box!

Doesn't the wrapping look great?~~~

In Memory of...9/11

What were you doing on September 11, 2001 at 6 am PT? I was getting ready for work and almost dressed for work. I saw on the news that there was a fire in one of the twin towers and Matt Lauer was commenting that a plane had hit the tower. As we watched in the horror, it got even worse...another plane hit the second tower.

What a tragedy that pulled our nation together, and made us focus on what was reality...not something from a Hollywood film. I don't think anything in a Hollywood film would make a bigger impact on us.

This is a block I made for a 9/11 quilt called United in Memory
This link will take you to a facebook page that has blocks made by hundreds of quilters who made and then assembled each one to remember the victims of 9/11.

I got the dancer image from a Stampin' Up! set that had dancers. Melissa was a dancer, and one of the things that her bio had, was she danced through life......

Stampin Up! also had a stamp with a flag that we sold to raise money for the victims, over 1,000,000 was raised for this cause....

We will NEVER Forget...!

Christmas Stamp a Stack

Now...this isn't a typical Christmas card that I would normally do...but it has the colors and feel of Christmas and yet can be a card to give out at Thanksgiving. The designer paper has the roses for the holiday flower instead of poinsettias, and
using the pine trees makes it more simple.

The tri-fold was accomplished using the Simply Scored tool! Quick and easy to use, and can make your card making easier!
