Cased..and tweaked a bit!

 I cased this project from another stamper...on Stampin' Connection, and I love it! I love the simple use of the colors and the stamps...and the die cuts!  This is using the stamp set that is in the Mini catalog plus a retired punch (the stockings)- I can't get rid of that! It is so cute!  and the Mitten punch is too cute too! (still can get that in the Mini catalog, although it might not be coming back, so be sure to get it before it is GONE GONE GONE!) 

 This is using the scallop circle punch and the snowflake die!  I added the glittery paper and the pearl!  It really needed the glitz!

 The sprigs are from Martha Stewart and not Stampin' Up! but I love how they just add!

 Hot cocoa and 1/2 scallop circle embossed

makes it look lacey!

now, the retired stocking punch!  

this is just too cute to retire but I'm glad to say I still have mine!

This iPhone app allows YOU to create an e-card-from a template or completely on their own-and send it via e-mail or post it on Facebook. And it's free!
Here's something you should know about this app: it's not My Digital Studio on a mobile device, not even close. This scaled-back version will only give customers a taste of what they can create when they buy MDS. We want to get our name and our art out there so more people than ever before will know about Stampin' Up! We hope you'll get excited about it as well and that you'll do the following:

Stampin' Up Trimmer is now Available!

I buy tools that Stampin' Up! has, and they come and go...but I love this trimmer. They really thought it out.  It has a lock on it, so things won't come apart, the trimmer blade is compact and the score blade is compact too. It has ample room for the trimmer and scorer to be on the same track and yet not get in the way of each other.  It has storage under neath for extra blades, bone folder and maybe even a ball sylus and paper piercer. I bought extra ones, to see if they can be stored under neath, that way,I won't be with out it!  It also has a larger surface so that you can cut to 5 1/2 " (6) without opening the arm to measure!

Beige Birthday!

 I have been seeing trends where everyone comes to a birthday party in the same color, and one that struck me was a friend's daughter who had a celebration at the park, where everyone wore beige/cream colors. It was a 30th birthday and it looked so cool! The table cloths were beige, and the decorations were beige, the servers were wearing beige...sooo cool!  I decided to make a beige pop up card!

 I used my spinning platform die by Karen Burniston, to create the base of the card, and then stamped in black on white cardstock (well, there has to be something different, right?)  and colored in using neutral colors.  (this is crumb cake)

All I need to add is the gift .....(gift card!)

Happy Birthday MOM!

 My mom's birthday was on Saturday, ...we planned a get together on Sunday, so this was my little gift to my mom. Nothing fancy, she doesn't really need anything and she knows that money is a bit tight..We took her out for dinner and this is what I gave to her (skin so soft by Avon..she loves the stuff!)

 I used colors that coordinated with the package (wrapped NON SU paper around the label) and it sort of matched the colors I chose.  I used Pool Party, Delightful Daffodil and Real Red.  I was looking though my stamps to see what kind of bold flower stamps I had on hand, and found this one, PRINTED PETALS!  120444 14.95 clear, 116679  19.95 wood mounted

I punched a hole at the top and added Real Red Stitched ribbon and tied it to the bag!

My mom - 76 years old!  Life has changed, and she's doing pretty good with the changes but she's losing her memory and that's not making her as happy as she should be...but gotta love her!  She's looking GOOD!

Pop n Twist Card for Halloween!

 ok, it is that time of year again...and I have another project that I am giving you a sneak peek!  This is for my annual Halloween fun Class - Sat, Oct 27!  I got inspired by Cindee Wilkinson, who created this fun masking idea (she did this and it just made me realize I haven't done it in awhile...)..I love the idea!  This project involves masking all over!

The Mummy is stamped, and then masked, and then you mask the strip...and stamp!  I added the spider and the Halloween greeting and the strip of striped paper (try to say that one FAST!)

The base of the card was created with a (non-su) die by Sizzix!  I love it!

Praying for you -Sympathy Card

We don't like sympathy cards.....at least knowing we have to make one means that someone is feeling pain and we feel that we need to pray and support them.  That's the positive side of making a sympathy card.  The recipient should feel some sense that there is life that goes on and we send hugs through the mail.  

My friend, who used to come to my dental office just lost her husband.  Now she's dealing with the loss of her husband...and she lost a son a few years ago, and it just seems that it cuts just as fresh as it was when it had happened.

I haven't seen her in awhile but when I was going through my divorce, she helped me by sharing a book that she read when she was going through some difficult times.  This is why she's special to me.

Pop up Love

 This card was created using Basic Black and Cherry Cobbler cardstock and the Karen Burniston Pop N Cuts die. I changed the insert to the "LOVE" insert and used the dies that I got at CHA (in my class -Sizzix)  I love this pop up card!  I am so happy to play with this!   I can't wait to create more fun with this die!  I know it isn't a SU die but I did use mostly SU supplies to make it (although some was discontinued...ie: glitter).  The white was created with the white gel pen to highlight the letters and the curves on the swirl.

Christmas OWL Card

 

Well I am using a non SU card that I got at Tuesday morning...it was a package of 8 cards and envelopes, and the size is 7x5...so I used a NON SU border punch (I love it!) and punched along the edge.  I then layered textured green cardstock (pear pizzazz?- it was in my stash of cut cardstock) and then layered the H from the Sizzix / Stampin' Up! Typeset Alphabet Bigz #127553 $ 69.95.  I then layered the punched scallop circles and the 1 3/8 circle and 1 1/4 circle and then....using the Epiphany punch, and the crystal, I placed the owl design in the circle, and layed the disk over the image and punched!

 

I love this!!  I got to play with it at CHA but "M" store finally got them in, so I got it!  I love the cute things you can make with it. I miss our Build a brad kit. I wish SU would get it back but...I guess good things come to ends, right?

 

You can see the disks close up. they are just larger than the ones SU carried

Merry Moments Cards with Box!

The box is not fully decorated yet but 8 cards and envelopes will fit in.  

Each card is decorated uniquely but this class will be a class that you will make your own designs. You can use my cards to inspire you, but I want you to try to create your own so you can make your cards at home rather than doing the cards that I create!

I added the sweet silver glitter paper and the coppery color and the red!  Along with Glimmer brads and dies cut from Stampin' Up!'s dies, these cards will be fun to give out to family and friends, and you can use the box to hold more cards, or any goodie you like!  There is enough paper to create even more cards at home!

Class is Saturday, October 6 - World Card making day!  We're also going to create a card to donate to the Operation Christmas Card.   This organization sends cards to soldiers who are overseas, wounded or returning home. It's something they can look forward to especially being far away from home.

If you can't make it to my class, think about donating a card to this organization!  You must sign the card, (handwritten message) and if you have any envelopes, please, don't seal the envelope!  You can drop it off at your nearest Michaels, (LONG BEACH TOWN CENTER) or me, or the Michaels closest to you!

My Digital Studio - Recipe Book

So, it's September..and still summer.  It's been the weirdest summer ever.

It's been hot and humid, and for California, and especially Southern California, it's been wet and hot-humid!  Today, it's Sept 5th and it's raining..yes..rain.

I'm sitting in my room (patio room) and the rain is falling on the roof and so I go outside to take a photo. My pool looks awful but you can see the drops hitting the water.  

STRANGE!  

It's like we're in Hawai'i but no tropics!

 

So...the traffic on the street is busy, I can hear the cars rushing down the street to get their kids to school that is around the corner from my house.  Yes, it is the first day of school.  Maybe the weather is missing the kids, so it's crying??  The parents are probably rejoicing that the kids are back in school...

heh heh

 

I decided that I wanted to try to make a recipe book for my daughter for her college days....so I compiled this and created this through My Digital Studio. I used the calendar format, and the recipe pages!  I looked though some of my cookbooks for recipes that are my daughter's favorites, and also through PINTEREST (CLICK!)that we've found (and made) and did a little book that was personalized with some of her friends...furry ones and human ones!

The quality of the book is really superb!  I was really impressed with the packaging too. It was mailed via UPS and in a sturdy well protected box!  (like Amazon.com)  It was nicely wrapped in cello also!  The colors are vivid and bright and cheery, just like I had created it on my computer!

 

You need to try this!  I'm not sure I want to print my Christmas cards this way, it might be too expensive, but I don't know if I will be sending out cards anyways!  I might not have any $$!  YIKES! (ok, somehow, GOD provides! and yes, I will get a few cards out!)

Just Believe Fun Card Class!

This is the most simple-ist card that is for next week's FUN CARD CLASS!  I used the Just Believe set, and cased it from the catalog (pg 77)

I stamped and punched the circles out, and then die cut the so saffron, stamped it with so saffron and then white ink and embossed.....

Love how this one came out!!!

Button Buddies

I LOVE POP UPS!
This is a pop up card that I'm doing next Saturday at my FUN CARD CLASS!!!  I love that it is so simple to do!  The Tissue box was created using a rectangle piece of cardstock and I glued designer paper on it to make it look pretty, and then the flowers to make someone sick...feel better...

don't you think they would be on the way to recovery after getting a card like this?

Perfectly...Preserved! Fun Cards!

I love FUN cards!

 This card is fun because it uses the window plastic (acetate) to create a window to look inside the card but yet it has pears inside the card like they would be if they were really inside the jar!  I started off by trying to create a shaker card but ended up with this because my shaker idea wasn't working very well. I am still looking at doing a shaker card (with cherries???)  maybe!

I stamped the jar on the acetate using STAZON ink and then the pears were stamped using Delightful Daffodil and Lucky Limeade. I used a tinge of Pumpkin Pie around the pear on the outside because it needed a bit of color on it!
