Card Sleeve

The other day, someone showed me a card on her blog (www.sandystamper.com) and it was a Christmas Card that had a sleeve over it. I thought I would try it a different way.
I have a Marina Mist card, with a message stamped on it, and then a Not Quite Navy sleeve that is embossed that wraps around the card. Under is a Designer lable and ovals layered over the Striped Ribbon

Thank you's are always nice to receive....

Wishes and Gifts

"Happiness isn't in the receiving, it is in the GIVING that makes you happy"

I don't know who said that but it fits my friend Valerie. She turned me on to a group within Splitcoaststampers called WishRAK. RAK is a Random Acti of Kindness. It is giving to someone else just for the pure sake of giving.

My friend Valerie is a perfect example of someone who likes to give because it makes her happy....the more she gives, the happier she is.

I found someone on WishRAK who was asking for BROWN cardstock and BROWN Ribbon. Some people don't like Browns but when you see something like this, it reminds me of Chocolate cake, with Chocolate icing, and chocolate ice cream and tiny white sprinkles, don't you think?

This is on the way to someone in WishRAK. I hope she likes it. It grants 2 wishes. It was easy enough to fulfill! I wrapped 1 yard of each ribbon around a piece of cardboard, and then wrapped that into a cello. The cardstock is Early Espresso and Chocolate Chip.

Now..for some people, this would be a "WHAT?" gift, but for stampers....we love this, don't you?

So for you who might be looking for a gift to give someone....give from the heart....it is more important than spending lots of money...

Halloween 3D...Old and New

With all the 3D special effects that they have in movies, I think it is fitting to have a 3D Halloween card! I pulled out my retired Home is where the Haunt is and make my 3D card. I also combined it with the Wicked Cool (current) set! I sponged the background using Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Pumpkin pie, More Mustard, Perfect Plum, and Wild Wasabi. (sounds like I am getting ready for THANKSGIVING and making food!)
This is called a Diorama Card!
The combination of colors, makes it very fall! You should try this card. Very simple and easy! There is a template that you can purchase from another site, or you can also go to www.youtube.com and search for the basic instructions. I changed the dimensions on this card but you can make it anyway you like!

Homemade Mini Box

I love making boxes. I was making a box for a card class and was just playing around with sizes. I came up with this one but it is a bit too small (3" in diameter). So, I thought I can't throw this away, and decided to make it into something useful! I stamped the cupcake tag (but I guess you can put something other than an edible cupcake inside, right?) The box is crumb cake and the designer paper is chocolate chip pattern paper. The belly band is Pretty in Pink, and the homemade tag is stamped in Espresso ink.
TOO CUTE! I love the cuteness factor. Anything small is just cuter! It looks like a mini cake box!

I case'd this card from my friend Julie (and her friend) and she said she cased it from someone..so it isn't my creation but I love how simple this card is and how clever!
Getting caught is fun!

Got IT?

Remember those ads by the Milk company that would ask "Got MILK?" I think whoever made up that ad, probably would've made even more if they thought of all of the ideas that would come of that ad....
I even have a shirt that says, "GOT PHOTOS?" I have a friend who is a photographer and he wants my shirt (NOT!) I got it from a scrapbook company that I used to demo for, at CHA. So, this set is so cute and has a lot of potential for more ideas!
I used CHUNKY Glitter (gasp!) and punches and designer papers for this class for Saturday. I am having a PMS Class on Saturday for Pizza, Music and Stamping!
I hope you enjoy this card! It was fun to do!

Christmas Stamp A Stack

I love to listen to Christmas music but....lately all I have been hearing in my stamp room is crying. Not people crying but kittens!

It has been all in fun, but taking care of 4 abandoned kittens is a lot of work! My daughter isn't here and so it is all up to me! I have to say that it has been an experience!

So stamping isn't high on my priority...REMIND me next time...don't take on 4 little kittens...as cute as they can be, but now that they are moving around more..they are taking up a lot of time!!!

Knit a Long...(KAL)

I have a book that uses teeny little knitted pieces to make a card so I thought I would try to make my own knitted card.
So, I started knitting on toothpicks (I could've used my dp size 2 needles) but i wanted this to be 'really' knitted) I then ran the Marina Mist cardstock through the Big Shot giving the background a fabric texture, and then using the heart punch and the window punch (Heart) to add a layer for the knitted sweater.

This is such an easy card to make although it looks complicated, it really isn't!

Love Life Pop up

Are you tired of these pop ups? I just love how simple these pop ups are and how much fun you can have with smaller spaces to stamp and decorate!

I used Early Espresso, Baja Breeze and Elegant Soiree Designer paper. Crumb Cake coordinates also with this paper so I loved the soft colors that this combination puts together.
The idea for this one came because I just thought the slider with the brad would just give this another option. To put a message behind the front piece. It is attached with the glimmer brad in Baja Breeze.
Come to the Class on Saturday October 16, at 1:30 pm to make this card!

UdderlyAwesome - Designer Fabric

My friend Helen Homet is a fantastic demonstrator. She used the fabrics that Stampin' Up features in the Holiday Mini Catalog, and the adhesives. I loved how beautiful that the colors and the fabrics coordinated with each other.
In each package, you receive 3 large fat quarters of each piece for 9.95. Each fabric also has 48 matching buttons for an additional 8.95!
Each package also contains ideas to make using the fabrics.
From coasters, to personalized pillowcases, and tea towels, and ornaments. I love how she made a pinecone ornament using the fabric!

Pop Up Christmas & 15 Years with Stampin' Up!

There are milestones and milestones to remember....and I have been with Stampin' Up! for 15 years...September 17 was my anniversary, but I just got my pin....with 3 diamonds!
I had just sent an email to Stampin' Up! asking about my pin since others had received theirs earlier...but I finally got it!

Today's project is a pop up card, and I can't remember who's blog I got it from, but I hope I find it. She had measurements and all the cuts for the folds as well as the Designer papers.
This will be in my next Stamp A Stack!
It is set up for October 10th but I have to change that due to my mom's birthday (which had to be moved from the 20th to the 10th)...
How about that..10/10/10...lol
My mom's actual birthday is 10/20/2010 My brother, who is the mathematician said it is a palindrome of sorts....figures he would know that!

Opened up the card reveals more folds and papers...!
Email me if you would like to come on the following Saturday or Sunday!

Rebekah's Birthday!

Today is a special girls' birthday! I am sending this card out to a girl who is celebrating her 9th birthday! I remember when she was a baby and now that she's in 4th grade, it just seems like it has flown by!
Rebekah is very special...and so I am sending her a special card!
I got this embossing folder from my friend Julie and I wasn't going to get it, but it is really starting to grow on me. I used Rich Razzleberry cardstock and Pear Pizzaz. I wasn't sure of the combination, but I did like the green raspberry contrast, so.....it was going to be this way! lol
I used the retired Well Scripted greeting to finish this off! The glitter was adhered using 2 way glue.

One of the highlights is seeing demonstrator demonstrating ideas for different products! This demonstration was for the fabrics, Big Shots and fall. I love the fall colors!
They all were beautifully decorated and the ideas were just amazing!

Cards displayed using the fall colors

Udderlyawesome!

Last week, when Julie came to visit, we went to the UdderlyAwesome meeting. My upline/upline is Sandy Hancock. She has meetings that she opens up to demonstrators in her downline, and she graciously allowed me to invited Julie to the meeting! It was a hot day in Duarte, not just the weather (at 9 am it was close to 90 degrees), but also with Stampin' Up! Demonstrations and card ideas shared were just flowin!

Someone brought their card tree, and it is the cutest thing! I love how it displays the cards! ( I think I NEED THIS!)

Since tomorrow is WORLD CARD MAKING DAY, I will show more ideas that were shared at the meeting on my blog tomorrow! Stay tuned!
