Halloween Sharing....

HI Ya'all!

Happy Halloween!

I stamped a card (not an invitation, which is what I did in a previous post) for each of my co-workers, and then also gave them a box that I made of Hershey's minatures....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't know if this is allowed, but I was sent this from one of the lists I belong to, and it is just hilarious! I hope I am not stepping on anyone's toes, but you've got to see this...!!!
From the Stampin' Up! Corporate offices... Halloween Celebration!
Be sure to look at the Video at the end.....too funny! Don't they just have fun at work all day long!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now, I didn't make these cards, but I had to share them since they were done by a friend Gretchen Barron...you've got to say they are cute and spoooooky! I can't bring myself to make them but I had to share, and I am sure if you've been perusing blogs, you've seen them already.......

Happy Halloween...enjoy yourselves and have a safe night!

Baja Breeze Christmas

Who ever would think that Baja Breeze would be a good color for Christmas? But, I think snowflakes make a nice Christmas card, and so, the Scandinavian Christmas stamp set has a nice snowflake look to it.

I stamped the flake in Baja Breeze on Whisper white, and then used the Designer paper from the Bulk paper buy from the Ski Slope Designer paper set. The Season Greetings is from the Merry Message set which was stamped in Brocade Blue. I think it is almost too blue, but it looks better on the cardstock than it does in the photo.

I should be stamping fall cards, but I don't really send them out, and I love Christmas! I am still trying to decide on what I want to send out, but I haven't take my daughter's photo yet for our cards. We're still trying to decide on whether or not to do a Beach/sand photo or go back to our usual studio pictures. They usually come out really nice, but I can't do a sand/beach shot there. (she won't take her surfboard there...., and I don't blame her)

Oh, did you see my new Watermark? I got a new one from Michelle Laycock. You should check her site out! Now, Stampin' Up has changed their requirements, where we don't have to have the dates on it...so I got one without dates (years).

Surf on.....!!!

LNS Design Challenge Challenge #7

This is the first time I have ever done one of these....and So I am in very interesting territory here. Tana and I are partners, and we have within the design team, made up a challenge which is easy in some respects that we don't have to use any shapes, but we're required to do give the group something to work with.
I came up with 3 cards using this design. Yes I think this is relatively easy. but...the challenge was to do something different with the pieces. I kept the scallop circle the same, only because I liked it. But I used different effects for the other rectangles. And I used decorative papers for color and design

What can you come up with? The sizes can be different too, you don't have to use the same size circles or the rectangles......Use your imagination!

Scandinavian Christmas

Jan Tink had this card on her blog, and I sent it to a friend, who loved it so much, she bought the set..!!! (wheel and set) So, she wanted me to re-create it. I used instead, Glorious Green and Real Red..and then embossed the wheel with the White Craft ink and white ep.

I colored it in using the Aqua Painter (on sale!)

and glittered it up!

Does it look like a Christmas Card?

Emergency Birthday Card Kit

At Regionals, they shared this kit...I am not sure who originally thought it up, but it was such a cute idea! I love giving a box of cards to someone, and I know I am always looking for a card to send out......

Andrea Walford came up with her rendition of the kit, and she formatted it for one of the kits from a previous catalog (it is retired now)...so, I searched and found one from Mary Brown using a current Simply Scrappin' Kit. (BEST EVER!)

This is using BEST EVER Simply Scrappin'. I came up with 12 cards, but actually, you can make even more if you cut them down further! And...this is only using 1/2 of the kit! So, you can make 2 kits from 1 Simply Scrappin kit!

And....If you really want a lot of cards, you can cut your cards to a 3x3 size and get 24 cards!!!

Or, tags, or....???

Today is my Mom's Birthday..and I am giving this to her! I think she'll like it....plus a Michael Buble CD will help alot too...lol!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Take out the TRASH...#2

Take out the Trash....#2

Tori loves these Popcorn Chicken from KFC. I do too, but eating them is like eating dog food, "kibble". Okay, that's gross, but you know what I mean if you've had them. It is fried little bits of chicken with batter on it, and then you dip it in a sauce...

It's good, don't get me wrong, but...it isn't eating FOOD.

I guess that's why they call it FAST FOOD!

I couldn't see myself covering it, so I just copied the box, and traced it onto Bashful Blue cardstock and then stamped it Baja Breeze using the DORMANT set THE SNOWFLAKE SPOT. I punched the center and added a rhinestone brad and glitter to the cut out snowflake!

"Take out the Papers and the TRASH...!"

Week 5...Challenge
"TAKE OUT THE PAPERS AND THE TRASH!...."

At convention, Carrie Cudney showed us her way to recycle and go 'green'. She took a pop tart box, and made it into a recipe file. I loved the idea..!!!!
So, taking the Pop Tart Box, and cutting the side out, and reconstructing it, and reinforcing it with Designer paper (Hawaii Papya), I covered it, and lined it with OLD OLIVE cardstock inside.
I cut a Top Note Bigz die in OLD OLIVE and rubbed the edges with Chocolate Chip. I stamped in Chocolate chip, the Upsy Daisy, and then wrapped the stitched chocolate chip ribbon around the box. The flower was die cut with more mustard, and chocolate chip center.
Each of the dividers is Chocolate Chip with the tab punch, and I used the SU font "Jodyola".
The Address card is Pumpkin Pie, and I created my own address card.
Name
Address

birthday (of course, so I can send a card!)

Decor Elements More coming Soon!

This is a sneak Peek at a new Product!

I wanted to give you an idea of how cool they are!

I ordered the Bulk - Decor Elements in the Pink Flowers...

OOOhh, they are cute! They come in the flat sealed package, and there are 8 of them (for Demonstrators only....!)

I ordered them for this project, a small white planter from IKEA. I rubbed the front and the back first with the tool, and then peeled off the gridded section.

Then you lay it on the planter (or other object) and the rub all over with the tool.

Then, you peel back the white sticky paper, and VOILA~ It is sealed on the Ceramic planter or other smooth non Porous surface!!!!

Using sticky tape, I adhered the Ribbon on the top edge.... and tied a bow!!!

This is just too cool, and cute! Come to a class..and let's try it out together!

Teacher Appreciation...Spanish!

My daughter is taking Spanish 5-6, which is the 3rd year of Spanish in High School. Her teacher is Italian, he was born in the US, grew up in Italy, speaks Italian, Dutch, German, English, Spanish, and I believe he has 2 other languages that he speaks...fluently! All I can say is WOW!
He is young too! (and not married.....and looking for a dog for his life...lol - this is according to my daughter...who said he gets off on these tangents and talks about dogs, etc)....
But, he makes Spanish fun, and hopefully, my daughter will learn to speak spanish. To tease her, I told her that I stamped "Happy Birthday" on the card. She made fun of me....and then proceeded to tell me that it was Feliz Cumpleanos (although she couldn't say Cumpleanos very well)...she is not gifted at speaking spanish...let's just put it that way...
I only took 3 years of spanish..but I think I can still remember a few things...lol

I posted these photos again, of my storage for my Sizzix Dies.
I got this box from Office MAX and it is an IRIS box. (for cards and photos) but it is bigger than a regular photo box.

Oh, and if you watch the BRAVO channel......
The LOFT is a salon by my work (it actually is attached to the same building..) it will be featured on the BRAVO Channel at 7pm (not sure if that is PT but...they had a sign out in front of their store.)
It is a salon in Long Beach, on Broadway, off Redondo, in the Belmont Shore Heights area. CoOl~

Teacher Appreciation Cards

Tonight (Weds) was Back to School Night at my daughter's High School....
So, I wanted to do something different from anything else I've done for any other Back to School Night...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I stamped cards for each of her teachers. I wanted to thank them for their work in the classroom and to let them know that I appreciate their hard work. I also wanted to give them something to remember me by, and to just be a presence.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, I stamped this card. I used the horse, and stamped it first in Close to Cocoa, and then tapped off the image so it looked like the horse was running...
Then tied with hemp cording and rubbed the edges with Close to Cocoa. I mounted it on Kiwi Kiss, over Not Quite Navy, and used the Maine Blueberry DSP with the edge scalloped.
3 brads at the bottom accented the base of the card...which was stamped using Versamark. I gave the Spanish teacher something different, which I will post later...(of course, using a spanish stamp set!)
I love her teachers this year! It is going to be a difficult year, but it will be fun! I think my daughter's ceramic teacher is the BEST!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, and the dog we found???
Well, it turns out he might be the long lost puppy of this family in Huntington Beach! How did he get to Long BEACH? We'll probably never know!....but he's a long way from home BABY! I am meeting this family Thursday morning.....let's hope it is the right family!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
UPDATE!! - Dog was from this family! How he got to LONG Beach, which was about 25 miles away, we can only guess that someone found him and brought him to our area. I am so happy to say that he's finally at his real home, and we're happy that we could help!!! I told them to get the Dog Microchipped! This is a really good lesson for all, who have pets...with the fires that are here in Los Angeles, and Southern California, and in disaster prone areas (floods, hurricanes, etc) Get your pets Microchipped! (ok, off my high horse..and on to stamping!)

Wedding Card

Well, Celebrations are in all colors...!
I got the wedding invitation and it was vanilla (ecru) and burgundy. So, i decided to make the card the same colors to match!

I Love the way PRICELESS just accents the curvy, romantic feel of this card, and I hope Renee likes it too.

It is all ready to go with the gift cards inside.....

Congratulations ! Off to the wedding we're going- this afternoon......!!!

Check out this wedding card!!! I got this from one of the comments on my blog! It is a beautiful card!!!

Spooky Spiders

I wanted to have fun with these, since I love PEPPERMINT PATTIES! So, making these cute spiders for gifts for those who WERE SUPPOSED to come for Today's class...well, these will have to wait for maybe, next week's ..or next time....sigh.......

I love the eyes. They were so much fun to do them differently. I made the mouth from the Blossoms Three, and cut them differently. One of them, I used a circle and then punched it again, to make a curved mouth.

gotta try these...they're very cute! I haven't done the Frankie yet, but you have to see them on Cambria's blog.......!!! They're cute! (click on Cambria's name)

Christmas Stamp a Stack (SAS)

Classic Christmas

Using the Soft Holly Wheel, I rolled the background, in Always Artichoke, which looks black next to the Old Olive cardstock.

I then stamped the Christmas Tree from Christmas Classic in white craft ink, and then brushed it with Micropearl (i have it and it looks so pretty in the shimmery pearl). It is then trimmed with Always Artichoke Cardstock and then Basic Black.

Simple Card and very easy to do multiples!

SAS is coming soon...be looking at my calendar for more details!

Making Mini Envelopes

I bought a few of the clear pails a while back, and was making cards to fit inside, however, the 6x3 cards don't fit inside, and then the envelopes don't fit either...so, I decided to make smaller cards!
But, how do you get envelopes to fit?
I took the regular Medium Envelopes (A2 size) and sealed it.

I then cut them in 1/2 at 2 7/8"

Then, you use the Extra Wide Oval punch to make a area to pull out your card that you place inside.

To make a flap, I cut a piece of computer paper, at 4 1/4" x 1" and then folded it in 1/2 lengthwise. This will fit in the envelope and will adhere the 1/2 scallop circle to be used as a flap.

This shows the 1/2 circle adhered to the flap.

When you fold it back over, it looks like this. Now, you can use glue to seal it after you place your card inside!

It's beginning to look a lot like......??? oh no!

Yes, well, the election might be less than 30 days away, but Christmas is still over 80 days away..isn't it?

But, I guess we have to get started thinking of doing our Christmas cards. I am still not sure what I am going to do, it really depends on whether or not, my daughter will cooperate, with a Christmas Photo.

We might do a beach photo this year, but it is still undecided.

I love the Surfin' Snowman....doesn't it seem appropriate for a BEACH GIRL?

I took these little cards, and instead of doing traditional cards (A2 size) these are 1/2 the size.

They actually are 3 3/4" x 2 5/8" folded. I then took the SKI SLOPE Designer paper, and put down a strip and then stamped the Shell tree, and the Surfin' Santa in Basic Black and water colored it using the Blender pens.

Then I took the 2 way glue and used glitter....well, you can see them if I scan it closer!!!

Yes, I USED GLITTER!
Wow...I am really lovin the glitter!

lol....it really looks better on the Shell Tree, but I didn't get a closer shot at that card. hmm..have to work on that..

Oh, and I made smaller envelopes using Medium envelopes...

gotta check back tomorrow to see that posting!

Are you ready for Christmas??? I am definitely NOT...don't let this stamping blog entry fool ya!

Boo-tiful Invitation....R U ready for Halloween?

I was playing around with the cardstock and wanted to make a pocket...
so, taking a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" cardstock
I scored the cardstock at 3 1/2" and then scored at 1/2 " on both sides, and cutting off the longer section, I made a pocket!
To make the insert, I cut the black cardstock at 4 1/4" x 4 1/2"
I used the Spooky Ghastly Greetings Striped paper to accent the fold, and also the scallop punch. The pocket was stamped using the cat from the Halloween Frights, and then the Tasty Sweet words were stamped over the cat. I used the Stamp a Majig to line up the words, but they fit perfectly over the cat!
What a boo-tiful invite!

WCMD - World Card Making Day..Our card for donations

This was our card for the donation! I haven't decided who we'll send them to, but I might ask my friend Karen Moody, for possibly the Ronald McDonald House. We each made 2 cards, 1 to keep and 1 to give away.

We used Fabulous Flowers, and Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Not Quite Navy.

I only had 3 guests today, and we did 3 cards.

However, We had 1 guest not included in above, who decided to make his way into our house, and just sit at our feet.

We have no name for him. He's a puppy, maybe about 8 months or so. Isn't he cute? I tried to get rid of him by walking all over the neighborhood, but he stayed with me. You know, my other dog who died last week, we couldn't keep on the leash, but this one, we don't even need a leash, he won't leave us....lol

go figure...You know, the saying when God closes a door, he opens a window......I don't really want another dog, even though we miss having a dog.....sigh......

Urban Roof Garden

Urban Garden is a lovely set of Designer Papers by Stampin' Up! and it coordinates with the Roof Garden Accents & Elements Accessories!

Making this box of cards, and then also some coordinating tags and mini cards was fun!

The Catalog & Idea book tells you at the bottom what colors coordinate with the Roof Garden and Urban Garden accessories. I used Not Quite Navy, Basic Grey, Kiwi Kiss, and Baja Breeze to create this fresh fun gift tags and box of cards! The adhesive die cuts in the Roof Garden accentuate the colors and coordinate perfectly!

Making this fun box of cards is simply a breeze and wouldn't any recipient love to get this for a special way of saying "THANKS"....?

The cards inside were all done with the same elements, and the box seals them all inside with a velcro dot.....

I was inspired by the Stampin' UP! website that featured Kristin Moore sharing her ideas using the Roof Garden Accents & Elements!
