A Twist on this box...I was in the auto shop with my car...getting it fixed (this has been an ongoing theme this month, since getting in a minor fender bender)...but the inspiration just POPPED in my head while I was in the waiting room....
I couldn't do it on Monday, I was so exhausted from all my driving around trying to get the rentals, and stuff like that....so, finally after working today, I got the time to make this!
I measured the Clear cut circle die, and the width of the die fits perfectly for the width of the cardboard. I then measured the length and found that if I placed a piece of tape approx 1/2" from the edge of the circle, it would fit the center of the cover of this box. So, no fussing with the circle scissor and praying that it would work and cut all 3 pieces together...Just ONE swipe through the BIG SHOT and Voila! it cuts the circle!
The window plastic is between the cover paper and the cardboard. I used Snail to attach it. Be sure to get all the edges on with Snail, so it will stick together. (cut approx 4 3/4x 4 3/4")
I also cut a piece of Baja Breeze cardstock 5 1/2 x 5" and then ran it through with the CLEAR sizzix circle. Then, I placed the cut out circle in the center of the LARGE Scallop Sizzix die, and then placed the square of cardstock over the circle. I ran that through the Big Shot, and I ended up with the scallop circle that fits perfectly around the opening window.
Now the Jumbo brad fit perfectly on the edge of the box, and I couldn't wrap the ribbon around the box like in the others, so I tied a huge knot in the ribbon which won't go through the hole in the brad. It isn't really pretty, but it works.
The other ribbon is attached to the bottom of the box, with sticky tape. Be sure to put sticky tape on both sides of the ribbon for it to be securely fastened.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now, you can have a versatile box that will had a peeking window as to what is inside!
This was all done with the Baja Breeze Designer paper package
I have loaded this tutorial for the box (without the window) to the LNS Convention 09 website in FILES and also in the Design School site ,as well as my own Step in Faith Stampers site.....so if you're a member, you can visit those sites as well!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
