Jr Varsity Passport Book

This idea was stolen (:0~ from Michael's ....K& Company had a little passport book with die cut envelopes, and I saw it and immediately thought of the die cut envelopes that we can NOW make!

This can store a list or...gift cards, or...surprises that will delight the recipient!

I can see this filled with a gift card from HOLLISTER, Pac SUN, and Forever 21....
Great for a young person......don't ya think?

Today, my daughter has to register for her JR year of High school, so I guess it is appropriate to use the JR Varsity papers....
but, that also means an end to SUMMER.....(yippee! isn't that every mom's dream!!!?? and every child's nightmare!!! lol)

Crab & Co

This happy crab is so cute! I love to color him in and put googlie eyes on him....
I think that he's a great summer birthday card, don't you think? Of course, this set will be on the Dormant list again...but, I think for a while he's going to be quite happy if you keep him active.
I made a trifold card, and on the end section, I used the word window punch to create a pocket to hold a gift card....wouldn't the recipient of this be happy to get something from their favorite place to shop???
The scor lines are easy to do with the Scor Pal. I love this tool, and to give you some background on it, it was created by a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, named Diane Crick...be sure to check out her site....!!!
Happy Birthday America! Can you believe tomorrow is the 4th of July?

More Riot of Petals Pop Up

Using the Circle Coluzzle, I cut a large circle and did the same colors and stamps...
I added a ring of DSP (Afternoon Tea) to the circle shape cut out on the front cover layer. Be sure that you have enough room to place the ring around the cut area, and to the edges. It is easier with a smaller circle, but it will work with it if you place your coluzzle over the cut area, to check to see if it fits within the lines of the coluzzle.
I just love this Riot of Petals stamp...remember, this is on the Dormant list...so it will still be available during the Christmas Holidays. My friend told me it looked like it could be a Christmas Card...what do you think?
well, maybe it will keep my thoughts cool through this heat wave!!!
I promise, I will have something different tomorrow...and it won't have Riot of Petals in it....lol....

Pop Up Card

To start off making the pop up, you will first need 2 sheets of cardstock cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/4. Score them both in the center.

Measure the front side at 2 1/8 and mark it with a piece of tape (I used the masking tape that will not stick and tear the paper after being removed).
I then placed the oval coluzzle over the front of the card, centering the oval at the tape edge.

I cut the 1/2 oval (or circle).

Repeat it to the other cardstock, and then you will score at that tape line. One you will score the oval, the other, you will score above and below the oval.
The card that you scored above and below, you will need to score the other side (1/2)
They will then, look like this.
<----------------

Lay the 2 cards on top of the other
-Putting the card that is scored 3 times in the inside, with the mountain fold in the center.
The other card will be below, with the valley fold in the center.

Use adhesive on the end without the ovals together.

Then place adhesive on the oval with the score. (just the oval area)
Attach the ovals together.

Then, adhere the ends together. This will form the front edge of the card. It will fold and match the back of the card.

The oval will bend towards the back (fold of the card).

Adhere your design to the oval section, and stamp as you like! I am going to see what else I can create with this ...and I will post more samples!

THIS CLASS will be offered on July 18, at 6:30 pm. RSVP now! see my calendar at 30 boxes ------>

Riot of Petals Pop up Card

I have been trying to come up with a way to make this type of pop up easy..

I think I have finally figured out a way to make it simple!
Using Coluzzle ovals and my excess Handsome Hunter cardstock..I am finally getting some progress in doing both~!!!

Tomorrow I will show you how to make this card a snap! You will definitely want to try to make this one!

I colored it in with Copic markers, but you can also use the Stampin' Up! markers too.....

Stay tuned for tomorrow!

Half Circle Flap Card

Making a flap using a circle is easy with the Coluzzle!

You can make any size half circle or oval flap using the coluzzle

First, decide on what size card you want to make.

Then, score a piece of cardstock that is the same width of your card 1/2" from the edge. This is where you will line up the Coluzzle. Cut the circle edge from this score line.
Stamp your paper, or use the DSP (Designer Double sided paper)

Then, you line up the coluzzle (in a smaller circle ) either using the same coluzzle or the companion coluzzle which is smaller.

You can then mount it to the card

To make washers: First punch the smaller hole. It makes it easier to line up. Then take the 3/4" circle punch and line up the smaller 1/8" punch in the center (eye it), and then punch it out. For this card, I needed 2 washers.

This is what your washers will look like.

Then stamp your card, in the folded front

stamp the inside

Back view

Front view...all done!

Stationery Box of cards

I got a request for the measurements for the Stationery box From Andrea C - aka "irish-andie"

To Make the box,

Cut your cardstock 7" x 12"
Measure using the Scor-Pal or Fiskars Scoring blade with the 12" side to (horizontally)
2", 2 1/2", 7", 7 1/2"

(Your first section will be 2", then you will have a 1/2 " section, then 4 1/2", 1/2 section, then 4 1/2" section. ) See below

Now, turn your cardstock to the 7" side at the top horizontally, and score 1/2 on either side.

Cut triangles at the flap areas to make the box close together on the sides, and it leaves room for ease.

In the top section (2" side) punch a hole 1" from the edge, 3" from the side

Punch the hole in this section, approx 2 1/2 " down from the edge, and in the center (3 1/2")from the side. This is the 4 1/2 " section.

Adhere tape to the side flap to assemble the box. USE STICKY tape or some tape that will adhere well. MonoAdhesive (or SNAIL) is not advised because it will lose it's stickiness after a short time or in humid weather.

Voila! All done!

Scor-Pal Pop Up card and Diorama

I found the template for this card on Scor-Pal...and yes, it is on Sudsol, and SCS (Splitcoaststampers)..but, using a tool like the Scor-Pal makes scoring and measuring very easy. Not that the Fiskars or the Stampin' Up! cutter isn't good, (it is!) but, the Scor-Pal makes the project a SNAP!

From the website, you can find a variety of cards that can be created very easily!

All the measurements are on the site, and all you have to do is cut the cardstock and score it, and assemble each card as shown. The site has photos for each step and it is very clear.

Using the Large Oval punch, will create a piece that will fit perfectly in the hardware pieces in Stampin' Up!'s Hardware kits.
This card was created using the Scor-Pal, but is not on their website (I don't think it is)
I love doing the Diorama card. It is very easy, and this is the first time trying it with the Scor-Pal.
It uses clear acetate, which is window plastic, not available in the SU catalog, but you can find report covers at any Staples, Target or Office supply store.

Have a great weekend!
