Well, as my daughter surfs, so does her friends...and they all are turning 16 this year....
I decided to help her make her card for one of her friend's birthday which is next weekend (actually, it was last weekend, but the party is this next weekend)....and so I made her a surfin' card....but, we don't have a surfboard stamp any longer! I got this one from American Art Stamps, so although it isn't Stampin' Up! it works for this card. (i just found out that this surboard stamp is discontinued).
This was done using the All In the Family set and Crab & Company. I used the "sand" from the seashell to make the sand all over. I colored it in with Creamy Caramel and cut a mask from the paper that you take the labels off of, to make the clouds. I sponged the clouds using that mask as well as stamped the surfboard first and then the girl to make it look like she was holding the board.
I wanted to use the crab, but it would've looked like a GIANT CRAB from a nuclear land waste that was going to eat the girl...lol ...gee..snappy birthday "MUNCH!" The background flowers were from Ginormous Flowers set.
The card used Ballet Blue (for the base card) and then Only Orange, with the whisper white images on top.
Happy Memorial Day weekend...is it a nice day for you? It is nice over here now that it has stopped raining..(who would've thought it would rain in Southern California on Memorial Day weekend?)
ps: My daughter is decopaging surfin photos on a painted wood frame and then she'll decorate chipboard letters to put on the top of the frame (SURF). It will hold a photo of the friend surfing.....pretty cool...i guess my daughter is a closet crafter...shhhhhh!
