Kokeshi Pop Up

Andrea and Sophia's final card was to make a princess in the castle card! So....what do you do with that? You can make a vase of flowers, you can make a barn with a silo or some other "tubular" figure.....figure...hmmm....as I was pondering "figure" ....I started thinking "kokeshi".

So I started assembling the parts of my own 'tubular' kokeshi doll. I cut out the mechanism and then used some papers that would simulate a kimono. The Doll also needed a head, so I cut out the largest circle from the circle die, and then the oval is from the Scallop oval frame (the inside of the frame). I layered the oval over the circle and then cut out a rectangle after cutting off the end of the oval to make the hair.
Stamping the flowers in Regal Rose, and then in white was the most exciting part (ok, I am excited about the pop up mechanism too!) ...I like how the white just pops over the rose ink! sigh.....addicted to stamping!
I hope you enjoy the card! It was a fun class, and oh....I hope that if you didn't go to convention, like I didn't go, you found some inspiration from my blog! I am going to Magic Mountain today, so I might not have a card posted tomorrow (tuesday)......we'll see what time I get back and see if I can get a card in before midnight!
Enjoy!
*Smiles!*
