YOU can make them almost any size that you have the sheet of acetate for! And they will make cute party favors for Christmas parties, Halloween, Valentines, St. Patricks....get the idea?? Change the colors, and the stamps and Voila! you have instant party favor ..cute and sweeeeeet!
Fill it with sweets or gifts that are small enough like Bath and Body works lotions or gift card..or Brads and glitter from your Stampin' Up! Demonstrator (ME...lol) and you have a nice gift with lots of thought put into it!
You score the acetate in even measures, like 2 1/2" for 4 sections, and make sure you have at least 1/2 to 1" for a flap. Then you make the lid for it, cutting 2 pieces at least 1 1/2" to 2" larger than the square of the box. In this case, the lids are cut 4 1/2" square. I scored, using my scor-pal 1" around each of the edges, and then cut a small triangle cut at the fold to make a flap. Make sure you don't cut too far.
Apply a piece of Sticky tape to each of the flaps, and remove, and attach the flaps. Be sure to cut off any excess. From this photo, you can see there is a small triangle of paper cut from the flap. The triangle is cut from the flap and not the box lid (the long rectangle edge). You want your lid to be squared up.
remove tape and attach flaps and put on the box. If necessary add some sticky tape or Monoadhesive to the box bottom to make sure it is contained.
attach a tag, and decorate the top of the box...
I used the circle punch 1 3/8 and 1 1/4" punch as well as the scallop punch...
Have fun creating your Christmas containers!
Hello Dianne,
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and Tori! I wanted to know where I can get this acetate? I simply loved the Christmas card you sent -the one you have here on your blog.
Thanks and God Bless!
