Scallop Basket in Haiku

Haiku Basket
I wanted to make another version of the Scallop basket using the Sizzix die, and so this one is completely out of cardstock and DSP.
I cut a piece of cardstock 5" x 7" and scored 1" on the sides and at 3" 4" to assemble the basket part. YOU can make this box any width that you want, just add to both sides.
It can also be done in a square, with scallops on all 4 sides...hmm..it gets ya thinkin' don't it?
Apricot Appeal looks lovely with the Haiku...and again, Orange and Green are not my strong colors, but look how pretty they are together!

Frosty in September??

It's 100 degrees today, and I am singing FROSTY the SNOWMAN...!

Well, at least it makes me think that I am thinking of Christmas....which is only about 100 days away! "OMG" is going through my head!!!

I cut snowflakes and then used the 2 way glue to put the glitter on (yikes, glitter all over!)

Crystal effects holds the brim of his hat and is also on his cheeks and carrot (which is just a piece of only orange cardstock, cut out and then has crystal effects on it).... The hat is the WIDE oval punch, cut to fit

Does FROSTY look familiar??

print the photo and look at it upside down....
yup, you guessed it!

Just Jawin!

Blushing Bridal Shower Card

I am invited to a Bridal Shower at the end of the month, and one of the things we have to do is to bring a gift....isn't that what you're supposed to do at a Bridal Shower?

I guess because I am now older, and most of my closest friends are long married, and I am not around too many young friends, I don't get the opportunity to go to Bridal showers....even Baby Showers are getting farther apart as my friends are now hitting Meno-pause...

They don't have Meno-pause parties....too bad......well, I have to go to a funeral...but that doesn't count....(now I am mostly going to funerals of my friend's parents!)

Ok, how did I digress to this sad subject???!!!

I asked around for this pattern because of one of the BRIDAL SHOWER games we're doing is to bring a NEW Panty for the Bride....and she's going to choose her favorite panty....I needed a cute card to use for my entry.........

(Thank you Karen Moody for the pattern!)

I don't like games..but, I thought this card would be a hoot to give to her since I won't be there...and she's going to just love the card, even if she doesn't like the panty I buy for her....'like' does giving her dental floss count???

I cut out the pattern, and then put a row of Snail adhesive along the edge. I punched 1/4" circles out of white cardstock and added them to the edges of the pieces.

I added them tediously to each edge that I wanted to look like a lacy edge

Turning it over and mounting it to the base cardstock in Blush Blossom....

And then, we can't forget the backside!!!

I know when she opens the card, she will be showing all the guests the back side of the card!!!

I will miss seeing it...well, maybe not..It might be PRICELESS!!!

if you would like the pattern, email me..!

Top Notes SUPER SIZED!

I can't believe it is THURSDAY already! I can smell Autumn in the air, even though it has been hot this week. The season is slowly changing, and although the calendar says September and my daughter has started school already, Summer is OVER!
I've always wanted to play with the dies and do something different to them, and was thinking this would be a great time to use the Top NOTES die in a different way!

I thought SUPER SIZE IT!

Now first what you do is fold a piece of paper (I used copy paper) into quarters. - Fold in 1/2 and then 1/2 again)

Lay the paper so that the folds are not near the cutting edges on 2 sides. Run it though the machine.

When you open the paper up, you will see that there is a mirror image on all the edges.

This is what you will have after you open it up, provided you DON'T place it too close to the cutting edges.

I cut the Daisies and layered them, and also using the Swirl die to add color to the edges too!

Adding a photo (5x7) to the page, which is 8 1/2 x 11. You can see that this die now is pretty big, and can be used on a larger scale! (SEE...SUPER SIZE!)

Rainbow Sherbet

Rainbow Sherbet. One of my favorite ice cream flavors! Can you taste the yummy sweetness of it?

I love these colors. This is my comfort zone, but....when I got started with this paper, I didn't really have anything that "matched" with it. What to do? So, it sat there yesterday, and today..all day long...I didn't touch it much after I did most of this, and it sat there, waiting for something to focus on.

Tempting Turquoise, Apricot Appeal, Gable Green and Pink Pirouette. I used Pink Pirouette, and the striped ribbon. The apricot paper peeking under the scallop edge.

I think it is missing something, but for now, at least I am happy that it has something to focus on....

25,000 hits on my blog...hmm, might have to come up with a Blog Candy Give away!

be looking for it, and be ready to post!

Punched Blossoms

I bet you thought that I wasn't going to post anything..this last day of August and the Labor Day weekend...it is the signal that summer is almost over...I am happy and yet sad....It means that we have to get our lives in order, get our schedules straight, and crack open the books....!!

I love this set...! Did I tell you that I got this at convention? It is one of the things they give us to offset some of the convention costs, and also for the make and takes.

I have seen samples of this, so it is not new, but doing it myself was just so much fun!

This is one of the cards for the Stamp a Stack next Saturday! I needed another card to make things go a little faster, since we're doing 10 cards instead of 12.
This was a simple card, using 3 basic colors, Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate chip and Tangerine Tango,....the Hawaii Papaya is my color inspiration.....
I am not a brown person. I am not a green person, or an orange person. This is really out of my scope of comfort, but....can you imagine a world without Green, Brown or Orange??
I have been pondering a new blog entry, which will take me some time to work on...but, I hope that I can share it soon!

I think you might be more convinced that without these colors, life would be dull.....

*********************************************************************

My daughter dancing on the waves......she was whitewater surfin' as she put it...not bad for almost 2 years of no surfin...school and basketball can be rough!!! lol - it sure gets in the way of doing things we love!

and if you think I was on the board..??? ARE you out of your mind??? No way!
I was happily sitting on the sand with my book and my camera..and my beach chair and diet Pepsi!
but I did get sand on my toes!!! lol
***********************
Not to worry, more of these photos will be in a scrapbook page coming soon!!!!!
**********************
Happy Sunday!!..off to church soon, and a return to the beach...maybe today....hey ..what is life if you can't take your book, your camera and your daughter and her board to the beach??? It's only 20 minutes away! ....it beats Disneyland which is 20 minutes in a different direction!!!
hey, if you haven't read any of the Twilight books...I love them..I started reading them on Friday, and then finished it, and read the second one yesterday (saturday) and then started reading the third one later that night..and today, I am almost 1/2 way through.....) It is perfect reading at the beach!!!!!
