Sizzix Christmas Tree and Ornament PUNCH!!!!

I just LOVE the ornament set and punch! This is a preview of a new set coming up in September! It is a set called Delightful Decorations.

Do you see the texture Old Olive behind the ornament??? Well, that's the new texture plate that is in the MINI. It looks like little poinsettias! It is called Petals A Plenty!

There is a PUNCH that matches. I don't have the picture of the punch (because it is against Stampin' Up! policy to show the punch), but you can see what it does! The circle punch is the 3/4" circle punch which fits perfectly for the smaller images. You can see the snowflake (stamped in red on the OLD OLIVE cardstock) and there is another stamp (swirl). There are 4 different ornaments.....but this is just one of them.

When you open the card, the tree, which is flat, will open and pop up! As you can see, I added some red cardstock to extend the card larger, so it will cover the top of the tree when the card is folded.....

For more information in assemblying the tree, go see this blog

Sizzix Christmas

I got MY ORDER! This was the first thing I pulled out...crazy huh! I know but I love the stamps and I will create some fun cards with them but this was my first crazy thing to get out...I wanted this one! SO, I die cut the trees out of Always Artichoke and you need to make several runs through. I used 1 sheet of 12 x12 cardstock cut into (2) 5 1/2 x 12" pieces. You need 1 large piece, (there are 2 of them) and then 4 of the smaller tree pieces, and 4 of the smallest triangle tree pieces.

Be sure to use the shim if the cuts don't work properly, otherwise you will need to use a sharp blade to cut open the slots for the pieces to interlock.

This (Sizzix) tree, is actually easier to put together than the smaller SAR tree. You can see my SAR tree in the photo. Didn't it look huge when I showed you the first time? ....and look at it next to the Sizzix Tree!!! It is teeny!

The Sizzix tree stands approx 4 1/2 " and 3 1/2" across

To make the tree stand up, there is a small piece that looks like this one (next to the tree)

Adhere the piece to the tree by matching up the flat rectangle to the base of the tree. I used mono for this photo, but if you were making a card, use the Sticky Strip.

I used sticky strip on the triangles that stick out. BE Sure that the fold goes towards the outside of the tree and not towards the center of the tree.

Voila! The tree will stand up if you place it in the fold correctly! The card has to be larger than a STANDARD A2 card. So unfortunately I have to add more to the card to make it look better..(the top of the tree sticks out when I have the card closed, but this was an experiment, right!!!

Spiral Pop Up - Class this Saturday!

I was inspired by Andrea Walford's blog and her Glitter Butterfly card. It was so cute and the colors soft, but I don't have the Kaleidoscope Designer papers....so I decided to try it with Cottage Wall. This paper is so nice and goes together with all the colors so pretty, that I really needed to get this paper.
Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry, Only Orchid work so well when you see it like this... The stamp set Great friend also coordinates as well as the Sizzix Butterfly die
I used the Scallop circle #2 and the (coluzzle)...it is so much easier to cut simple circles. I like our circle scissor but the coluzzle takes up far less time and less challenging.
It is going to be another beautiful hot day here in California...
I am missing my friends at convention, but know that they are having a great time looking at all the samples and seeing friends that we only get to see once a year.
Hope you find inspiration from my blog and from some of the ideas I am sharing with you!
I will be getting my NEW MINI Catalog stamps today! I am so looking forward to it!

Aloha Christmas

I found this book at a Hawaiian show, but I was really looking for it...not that it was hard to find because you can find anything on the internet....but, i don't like paying tax, shipping etc when you can get it for (no tax/or shipping), right?

This has some really cute folds and although it is designed for MONEY, you can use any type of foldable paper. It has dimensions for cutting your papers in larger sizes that are in proportion to the size of a dollar....

What I like about this shirt verses other shirts I have seen, is that it opens in the front! You can really make it look like a 'real' hawaiian shirt!

I used the stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370

What a great set! It has tiny stamps for ALL SEASONS!

The flowers were punched from Real Red, and the Black cardstock was embossed with {Finial Press} Embossing Folder. I glued beads (that's my favorite center for the flowers) and then glued them onto the shirt after folding the shirt. The hanger was from Michaels (from their bulk little bags that have teeny hangers. I bought them awhile back, and I think they're perfect for this shirt. I had to bend the wires because there isn't REAL sleeves for this shirt, but it gives the idea that the shirt is real....

Mele Kalikimaka! (which is Hawaiian for Merry Christmas...are you singing the song? I guess you might be singing it soon...it is one of those songs that will go through your head over and over and over......)

SAS Gift Card

I am getting ready for Christmas...
can you tell?

It might be difficult to shop this year being that the economy is still struggling but you don't have to stop gift giving...just send small gifts to let those you care about know that you're thinking of them...

This is a gift card enclosure, and even though it involves spending some money, you can put in something that will be used for something they want!

I got this tutorial from http://www.youtube.com/ and http://www.mychicnscratch.com/ . This is a gift card enclosure that uses an envelope to hold the gift card and a note! You don't have to have a double pocket but this one I made with a double pocket so that a note could also be enclosed!

Sign up for my Summer SAS! This starts in August! Be sure to check out my calendar of events and email me. I will send you an evite and you can be sure to have your RSVP in!
Oh..side note...this is just a prototype..I am going to be changing the colors because I think that the cocoa is nice but I would rather have more holiday colors rather than the cocoa....
