Sizzix Christmas

I got MY ORDER! This was the first thing I pulled out...crazy huh! I know but I love the stamps and I will create some fun cards with them but this was my first crazy thing to get out...I wanted this one! SO, I die cut the trees out of Always Artichoke and you need to make several runs through. I used 1 sheet of 12 x12 cardstock cut into (2) 5 1/2 x 12" pieces. You need 1 large piece, (there are 2 of them) and then 4 of the smaller tree pieces, and 4 of the smallest triangle tree pieces.

Be sure to use the shim if the cuts don't work properly, otherwise you will need to use a sharp blade to cut open the slots for the pieces to interlock.

This (Sizzix) tree, is actually easier to put together than the smaller SAR tree. You can see my SAR tree in the photo. Didn't it look huge when I showed you the first time? ....and look at it next to the Sizzix Tree!!! It is teeny!

The Sizzix tree stands approx 4 1/2 " and 3 1/2" across

To make the tree stand up, there is a small piece that looks like this one (next to the tree)

Adhere the piece to the tree by matching up the flat rectangle to the base of the tree. I used mono for this photo, but if you were making a card, use the Sticky Strip.

I used sticky strip on the triangles that stick out. BE Sure that the fold goes towards the outside of the tree and not towards the center of the tree.

Voila! The tree will stand up if you place it in the fold correctly! The card has to be larger than a STANDARD A2 card. So unfortunately I have to add more to the card to make it look better..(the top of the tree sticks out when I have the card closed, but this was an experiment, right!!!
