Real Love in Real Red

I love this box in the Stampin' Up Idea book & Catalog! It just shows off some of the wonderful buttons, brads and die cuts that we offer! I decided to do my own version of the book...so it isn't exact but this is the cover of what I created...

Inside I'm still working on it..and hopefully I can show you soon. I've had a hard time on my computer to get on my blog lately, so I apologize for not posting more often...I have been working on a few different projects..and this is coming out so sweet...

Have a great day today..It is Veteran's day, and we need to celebrate those who are fighting for our freedom and remember those who lost their lives in the fight....

Love Letters

At my local Big box store, they had some of these blank chipboard books, which I couldn't resist purchasing! I decided that I needed to go beyond my regular safe style and try to "grow" my style!

I cut some chipboard letters, and got some cool rub ons (birdhouse) and stretch! LOVE LETTERS Designer paper is so beautiful! I love the red, black and vanilla colors, and patterns. They are so retro and antique! I decided I needed to do something with the pictures from my daughter's high school graduation and the her gown was just the perfect color to match this paper! As I finish the other pages, I will show you more of what I come up with. Each page is a 6x6 with tabs, but this book is going to be a work in progress for now.

It's a Jolly Holiday!...from the heart!

I wasn't as thrilled with the Christmas Holiday Papers when the catalog first came out, but...as I have been playing with the Jolly Holiday Papers, I think I am falling....falling...and falling....for them! I love the cute petite designs. The jumbo circles don't do much for me but this little petite patterns are cute for note cards, such as these!
I made the little box for the 3x3 notecards, and using the mini envelopes from the catalog, this fits in the box perfectly!

Adding a scallop to the box side to enhance the side shape makes this box even more cuter!
Each card is made using the design for punches stamps called GIFTED and PERFECT PUNCHES. They are just perfect, don't you think?

The colors that are used in the Jolly Holiday papers are Old Olive and Cherry Cobbler. I accented it using the Crumb Cake cardstock and Very Vanilla. The punches all do the rest along with the stamps! How cute would this be for a friend or relative to give as a gift. I know this year is going to be a difficult year for lots of people. I am included. The recession might over for Congress, and the President, but it isn't over for the rest of us...I finally have been hit really hard myself in my 'other' job and so I have to start thinking of ways to use my supplies and my brain to make gifts for Christmas, otherwise I will have nothing to give away! So, I have been trying to stamp and make gifts for those in my circle....because this gift comes from the <3 {heart}

Card Sleeve

The other day, someone showed me a card on her blog (www.sandystamper.com) and it was a Christmas Card that had a sleeve over it. I thought I would try it a different way.
I have a Marina Mist card, with a message stamped on it, and then a Not Quite Navy sleeve that is embossed that wraps around the card. Under is a Designer lable and ovals layered over the Striped Ribbon

Thank you's are always nice to receive....

Wishes and Gifts

"Happiness isn't in the receiving, it is in the GIVING that makes you happy"

I don't know who said that but it fits my friend Valerie. She turned me on to a group within Splitcoaststampers called WishRAK. RAK is a Random Acti of Kindness. It is giving to someone else just for the pure sake of giving.

My friend Valerie is a perfect example of someone who likes to give because it makes her happy....the more she gives, the happier she is.

I found someone on WishRAK who was asking for BROWN cardstock and BROWN Ribbon. Some people don't like Browns but when you see something like this, it reminds me of Chocolate cake, with Chocolate icing, and chocolate ice cream and tiny white sprinkles, don't you think?

This is on the way to someone in WishRAK. I hope she likes it. It grants 2 wishes. It was easy enough to fulfill! I wrapped 1 yard of each ribbon around a piece of cardboard, and then wrapped that into a cello. The cardstock is Early Espresso and Chocolate Chip.

Now..for some people, this would be a "WHAT?" gift, but for stampers....we love this, don't you?

So for you who might be looking for a gift to give someone....give from the heart....it is more important than spending lots of money...

Halloween 3D...Old and New

With all the 3D special effects that they have in movies, I think it is fitting to have a 3D Halloween card! I pulled out my retired Home is where the Haunt is and make my 3D card. I also combined it with the Wicked Cool (current) set! I sponged the background using Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Pumpkin pie, More Mustard, Perfect Plum, and Wild Wasabi. (sounds like I am getting ready for THANKSGIVING and making food!)
This is called a Diorama Card!
The combination of colors, makes it very fall! You should try this card. Very simple and easy! There is a template that you can purchase from another site, or you can also go to www.youtube.com and search for the basic instructions. I changed the dimensions on this card but you can make it anyway you like!
