Book Share - Interactive Cards

Yesterday was a day of deliveries...and I got my new stamps...and supplies, and.....a few books!

I love interactive cards....well, cards that move, pop up, and do all sorts of things! I found this book on Amazon.com ...and let me tell you, I love this book! INTERACTIVE CARDS by Tanya Fox (Annie's Attic/Paper crafts)

Very simple mechanisms but very effective as well. I also was very happy to find that several of the cards were done by a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Jan Tink.

She has great ideas, for card, but I love her instructions too! It is very clear to figure out!

I have been collecting a few more interactive or movement cards so that I can do another class, and give you some fresh ideas...so some of the will probably be inspired by this book and another one that I found!!!

Storing the New STAMPs are so much easier with the Clear Mount Stamp sets. I found this tray at the Container store and it holds DVD's...so you can see that any DVD holder will work for this type of STAMPs!!! Much better than the old way! So....new is....BETTER!

Deliverance!

UPS....and the first delivery of the NEW CATALOG! I got my {small} order! It was a small order..but packed full of super new stuff!

I ordered the owl punch and the scallop envelop punch...Jewel Pearls and Rhinestones, New Ink colors (well, sort of new), New Designer paper and 2 Simply Scrappin Kits!

I love how they are so compact! Now that I am not ordering the wood mounted sets, I find that they are lighter, smaller boxes and compact!!!

Off to stamping...........

Meandering Book

Meandering book
to meander is to stroll and wander

This book flips and folds and as you look through the pages, you open it up to a 12x12 "quilt" like page!

I made one up before, using the Petal Pizzaz (Petal party Meander Book), but this one I made using the designer paper Island Oasis. I love the bright and cheery colors of Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red, So Saffron and Old Olive.....now all bright colors!

The book will fold up closed, and I have a special closure so that it will open up easily and hold together closed without tying any ribbons!

Opening up the pages reveal more color and almost all the patterns in the Island Oasis Pack!

The compact size makes it easy to show friends or family the fabulous trip you took or event that you attended without bulking up your bag!

I will be doing a class on this in AUGUST!

Happy 4th of July!

Using the Table Setting die, I cut out the flames and the the tag which can look like a candle or in this case, a firecracker! I cut strips of Not Quite Navy and Whisper White and adhered them to the tag. The fire was made from So Saffron, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie. The stars were punched out using the Large star, and small star (retired).

Whatever you end up doing today, remember why we celebrate this holiday here in the US!

Flowers Never Fade

ONE of the new papers in the GREENHOUSE Gala is this one. I am not thrilled at orange, brown and green. Not my favorite combination AT ALL!
But, when you combine them with Baja Breeze, I guess it can be softened....Do you still only see those icky colors, or can you see some of romantic retro appeal that I started to see? I like the finial and then started to see some of the curves instead of the colors. I added word window which had brads added to the card, and the strip with the antique eyelet, with the pumpkin striped ribbon (retired) tied with jute. Combined with Flowers Never Fade, and the finial from that set, I think it has some possibilities!
It still isn't one of my favorites but I am hopeful, it will inspire more creativity........

Greenhouse Gala and New Accessories

One of the NEW Papers is called Greenhouse Gala. At first, I wasn't very excited about it but I love this color combination! Old olive, and Baja Breeze. I love Baja Breeze! I am so glad they brought it back!

The scallop circle is the NEW Jumbo Scallop Circle which is 2 3/4" in diameter, combined with the 1 3/4" circle and the 1 3/8" circle.

It is also accented with Chocolate Chip strip of cardstock that was punched with the pinking hearts border punch and (retired) Twill ribbon in Old Olive.

The flower brad is chocolate chip and now comes in so many colors! There are 20 NEW colors that are in 4 different sets in the NEW Colors!

All the accessories (Buttons, Brad and Flower Brads) come in these combinations:
Brights: Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry.
Subtles: Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Rose Red, Marina Mist, and Perfect Plum
Regals: Cherry Cobbler, Cajon Craze, More Mustard, Garden Green, Night of Navy and Elegant Eggplant
Neutrals: Early Espresso, Basic Black, Whisper White, Crumb Cake (kraft), Very Vanilla and Basic Gray

I am so excited about WHITE! Who would've thought White would be exciting! :D
