Paper Embossing

This is the new Stampin Up/Sizzix Big Shot embossing folder! I love how it embosses the paper so nicely!
You can do so much with this! I embossed a square, and then cut the real red cardstock with the scallop square die and placed a folded edge so that it would be a note card (the top edge doesn't have the scallops on it).
I then layered the embossed cardstock on the note card, and the placed the white eyelet through the card, and folded the little tabs under. The ribbon (polka dot) was tied and then glued in the circle of the eyelet. The striped ribbon was placed under the eyelet and wrapped 'round the embossed cardstock.

Live Laugh and Love - Celebrate a 50th Birthday!

Today is my friend, Ellen's birthday. It is a special birthday because...it is one of those Milestones that we cross...I guess if we get so lucky! Well, we've been friends since we were 5 years old. We were in the same sunday school class at church...
And to top it off, our parents were friends when they were in high school.
So, we go way back!

I wanted her birthday card to be special, so I made this a A6 card. It is a 1/2 sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" paper, and folded in half. I used the Gold cardstock that is discontinued, but thought that since this birthday is like the Golden Anniversary.....I wanted to use gold as the accent. I love the white ink on the black, and the Fifth Avenue Floral was embossed in white ink and white embossing powder. The other part was stamped with PRICELESS in white craft ink.

I also stamped 2 of the flowers on black and cut them out to layer them over the other images.
Live Laugh & Love was also stamped on black in white craft ink and embossed. It sure looks nice, and although I don't emboss much, I really should do it more often!

Tall Tales

I saw this card on this blog by Carla Brasher and just thought how cute it is! I bought this paper on a whim because it was one of the papers we could order on the preview of the catalog. After getting it, I was at a loss of what to create with it. I have customers that don't have kids, and don't like brown, and don't like cutesy. So, what to do that will be inspiring and want them to at least come and stamp?....

The courderoy button is dyed using the KRAFT button and Crushed Curry ink pad. I rubbed the button on the ink pad until the color was saturated, and then let it dry.

I think that this card fits that....It is chocolate (brown) and is cutesy and could be for a kid, but, it has enough to make it nice enough for a friend...don't you think?

Simple Friendship Scallop Flower

The NEW Textured Embossing folders are so nice! They make such a clear impression. I used the plate for the scallop circle (which I cut each of the scallops so that it looks like petals). The pale plum cardstock is layered with the Daisy 2 die and then the friend was punched out on whisper white cardstock after it was stamped in Rich Razzleberry. The flowers were blended using a blender pen, after stamping.

The other Pale Plum cardstock was embossed using the NEW embossing folder. I layered the Polka dot ribbon on top and then layered it over the Rich Razzleberry cardstock which was stamped with the flower from the Simple Friendship set.

Fancy Favor Bag

What a cool die this Fancy Favor is! I love how you can create bags of different styles to make this YOUR signature!
I cut this out of Apricot Appeal and then layered with Tempting Turquoise and Designer Paper from the Flamingo and Really Red, and Old Olive. The cello bag inside is filled with die cut flowers to embellish a scrapbook page or card for the recipient!

Gift Boxes with a Twist!

These are too cool! Stampin' Up has a video that they share how to make these cool boxes (you might find it on YouTube.com eventually). I love them and I used to buy boxes just like this from Bath and Body works, but now, I can actually make them myself!

The tutorial is very simple! I don't want to share how to do it yet, since it is more of a perk to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and see it on the website as a new demonstrator...

If you're interested in signing up to be a demonstrator, ask me about it, and I will give you details! There is a GREAT special coming up soon, so stayed tuned, or email me!

New & Old Buttons with New & Old sets

Hi! Did you like that title? Well after making a card using an old retired set, I decided that I better get out a NEW set and use buttons....so, I did! This has the new Circle Circus set that wasn't on my list to buy but after seeing a few ideas, I thought I would try this one out....I stamped on Tempting turquoise and punched out and glued it on the bottom of the buttons. If you haven't tried this, you need to!

The Fancy bulk buttons that we can purchase (demonstrators only) include these beautiful colors! The turquoise flower button and the celery green buttons!

I haven't done much with the Flamingo paper, so I pulled it out of the nice new plastic folder and decided to play with it! I think I shy away because of the BRIGHT combination of colors that this one has.
The colors are Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Summer sun...(bright, eh?)

I scalloped the edge of the designer paper and then folded over the edge so that backside of the paper shows through.
The buttons were tied with Linen thread and then mounted to the embossed cardstock (embossed with the NEW FOLDER - Finial Press #115963 $7.95)
I think of summer and tropical colors, so I pulled out Just Beachy, and stamped this one..I think this set might be retired....but...the alphabet is new...the JUST ALPHABET. It is an interesting one to mount since the letters don't mount up in order....but I love the style and (it is reasonably priced too at 19.95)
