BFF Book

This is one of the NEW Papers that will be available in the Spring Summer Catalog & Idea book!

It is called Raspberry Tart...and wow it is a bright paper combination!

I mounted it on Old Olive, but it can go with Kiwi Kiss as well. I like the Old Olive because it tones the green down just a bit!

I got the tutorial from YOUtube.com

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pk5NO46Q8yU&feature=channel_page.

Her sample is done with NON Stampin' Up papers, etc, but I think you can see what pretty papers you can use, and other ideas for this project! I thought for this one, I would make it a BFF (best friends forever) book for my daughter. She collected and traded school pictures with her friends, and she can put the photos in this book and keep it compact and close to her! She can get 10 wallet sized photos in this book~! And it folds down to a 4" x 3" size! (You can see the folded size which has a "b" "f" on it and the pink stripe on the closed book)

The tutorial is very easy, and make sure you have a piece of paper with you so you can write down the measurements and then you can make one of your own!

The NEW CATALOG is just around the corner! I haven't posted much because I was waiting for my catalogs to be delivered, which they came late on Monday, and I have my LONG list of WISHES!!! I love the new Sizzix stuff coming out, and the papers, and ....accessories!!!
Stay tuned for more new projects coming soon!

Tulipe Fleur die cuts

i JUST bought this die, and oooh, it is really nice! I didn't think I would like it but after going to the store and seeing new design trends, I thought I better get it...and I am so glad I did

I made this card using one cut through the Big Shot. I cut the cardstock so that I could center the image, and use both, the negative (black on white) and the Positive, white background with Black image.

I love-love-love the crisp cuts, and the details. I am sure that if I split up the pieces I can make even more uses from this die.

You will definitely be seeing this more in stores. My daughter went shopping and brought back a bag that had this black and white image all over it...I have to take that bag from her..lol....

this is an Exclusive "Shelli" die, the Tulipe Bigz Die and only available from a Stampin' Up Demonstrator! See my blog, and my website to order it!

ps: My catalogs should be delivered today......oooh....I am just ready to Pounce on the UPS guy...let's hope he's early today, instead of delivering it late in the day!

No Catalogs delivered today....snif snif!

I just found out that I will get my catalogs on Monday...WAAAHHHH!!!!

Do you want to see any sneak peeks??? I do..

well, I have this link to a blog which has some wonderful things that she is sharing from Leadership.....I didn't go again this year. It always comes at a bad time after the holidays, and during Basketball season for my daughter. I have a great time watching sweaty girls (and boys) running back and forth down a court...dribbling the ball......it is very exciting...!!! (ok, I guess you either have to be a sports fanatic (yes, I am) or a fanatical parent (yes, I am) or the taxi service (yes, I am)...but, I wouldn't trade with anyone who went to Leadership...well, maybe if I had a guarantee that if I went to leadership and they would WIN their games! - well, they were playing against the BEST team in the CIF league and the last 3 years, the BEST in California)

They lost, but it was really exciting!
D.R.I.B.B.L.E
Shoot Shoot....
Take it to the HOOP HOOP!
(ok, I was sitting next to the Cheer Squad!) lol

So,..........if you want to see some catalog sneak peeks.... go to http://understandblue.blogspot.com/

don't complain if you peek and you should've waited to see the catalog.....I really hope that you'll like it...from what I have seen, I think there are some exciting new things coming!

Inspiration for Stampin Up! or Inspired by Stampin' Up!? Industry Trends at work!

Going into a store is always a scary thing for me, not because I am scared of shopping, but because I always find things that make me want to buy....it is subliminal messages that the store sends out...we all know that. We learned that in high school or at least back in the 70's when you as a consumer was thinking something else when you were looking at their ad.....

If you think that this posting is about that, well....YOU've got to get your mind out of the gutter.....

lol

sorry...This blog is "G" Rated..!!!

I was in Target...I have to stay away from Target. They always have such cute things, and I am a SUCKER when it comes to seeing all the cutest things they have. But do you know how it makes me feel when I see the trends that they have in their stores, and what is coming in the NEW Stampin' Up! catalog??? WOW! What inspiration!

I was soo psyched when I saw OWLs, and HEARTS, and fleur d' lis and FLAMINGOS, and FROGS.....

Of course the Valentine's stuff is out and Spring and Summer is around the corner..(ok, for those of you in the really cold areas, you can close your eyes and think of laying out on your towel with your feet in the warm sand, going between your toes, and listening to the waves crashing on the shore.......if you've never heard that sound, you need to come and Visit me here in California! - uh, in the spring or summer, ok? cuz you'll see me crying like a baby about the chilly 50 degree weather we're having....what a baby...right!)

But I saw the summer towels out on display at Target, and what do you think was one of the towels????

This was in a coral and chocolate color fleur....looks like our Sizzix Die doesn't it?

And FLAMINGOS! Wooo hoo! I don't really like flamingos, but I have friends that love them...and I think that they can always be in 'style'. Personally, I still love my cherries....lol

Now these love birds remind me of Japanese Anime....Pikachu or what ever their names are...

singing "chi chi pa pa"...(that's the sparrow song)

but the tree, the bon bons, and the circles with hearts and patterns.....

and the owls....

they had owls everywhere! They even had a big owl placemat...which for some reason, blogger kept turning the photo sideways....so until I fix that, I have to leave it off my blog.....sigh...

What do you think?..it is just a plastic placemat for 1.99 at Target....and you'll be seeing more like this in the NEW Catalog & Idea book soon!

Winter Retreat Card Kit

Winter Retreat is a great Simply Scrappin' Kit to use to make cards...you will still have plenty left over to make a great Photo Album as well!. I made 10 cards, and this box with barely 1/2 the kit. I have a lot of the Double Sided paper and cardstock left over to make a couple more cards!

The box is a flap that opens up to show the cards and envelopes inside.

The cards displayed

The box closes with the elastic cord which is wrapped around the brad, and is tied to hold the box closed. It loops around the box.
