Christmas in Chocolate and Baja Breeze

Now I would never think of using this color combination. Not for Christmas anyways! But, I love this! I know that brown isn't a Christmas color, and well, let's just face it, Baja Breeze, well, the name makes you think of summer, sand and fish tacos (fish tacos?)...well, that's what I think of when I think of Baja.....you know, Rosarita Beach? sand, surf, fish tacos.... (ok, I am from California...what can I say?)

I love the die cut felt snowflakes, and I am such a sucker to buy these, but I do love them. I haven't put the glitter on the snowflake yet, but I am planning on doing that! The white craft ink shines under the Felt Flurry Snowflake, and even if I don't have enough white ones, the red or Baja snowflake will look just fine!

This was another possibility for the Stamp a Stack Christmas Card Class!

Another LNS #9 Challenge Sample

My intention was to take this photo sooner, but as with all good intentions, they fly out the window. I did this on saturday, but after I got home from the store, I was informed that my daughter had 2 basketball games in Hawthorne (about 30 mins away) at 3 pm and then another one at 8pm. So, not being able to just sit and take photos of finished cards, and projects, I had to dash off, and sit at a game in a big gym, for an hour, and then run back home, and then back again for another game.





Anyways...this is a small square card, (4") I actually did this one in miniature because I wanted the focus to be the holly leaves, and the centers of the hollies are supposed to be red. I put some puffy paint on it, and have to heat it up so I can then put red chalk on it. I just hope it shows up after I do that!



This is the puffy paint after heating. It beads up to a foam like state.


Then you can chalk it and the chalk will stick to the puffy paint!






Voila!

Christmas Season

I actually saw this on Mary Brown's blog (stampcamper) and it was so striking, I had to try it. Now, mine did not come out as good as Mary's, but I do like it. I think the little bird in red, just makes me feel happy, and into the season...

I will have to try this one again, and be working a little harder at getting it to sparkle more. I had a little interference from my new friend and pal...my little 4 legged friend and judge...you know..the first time I did it, she didn't like it..she sniffed it and bit the edge of the cardstock..yes, it wasn't very good, but....I guess that just tells you that she's a passionate stamping dog...(aahhh, Suki...!)

Banner Word Card

I've been wanting to do a banner for my fireplace, but haven't gotten around to it..but, after seeing a few on blogs, and (namely, Patty Bennett's...) I got the idea to make a special card for family members which would have a photo or maybe a gift card, depending on who it is.....and this would be a 'special' card. Of course, only if I can make them simple and fast....! HA! we'll see! But I had fun with this one....I used the sparkly glittery shimmery cardstock to cut the letters out, and then the Ski Slope Designer papers. The felt snowflakes and the punched out flake with the trio flowers and brads to accent and rhinestone brads, made this a fun a exciting card to receive. Of course, I added a "OLD" photo of my daughter, which the pocket can actually hold a gift card in, instead of the photo.

The pocket was very easy to make, you measure the card, and then add 1". Score 1/2" around the sides and then the bottom, and then you punch out a 1/2 circle from the top.

The ribbon is attached to the back of the folded piece of cardstock on the back...to tie in the front....
